“Great food in the middle of nowhere!Quite a small town.We drive over when visiting the Whitney area.A true classic reminiscent of the wild west.Dauber and his wife are excellent hosts.Be sure to call the day before and reserve or “guarantee” a steak for you.Excellent steak at a very reasonable price.The Hemingway sandwich is excellent but does take a bit of time to be made.Have a few drinks while waiting, the skinny margarita would be a good choice ;-)Parking: There usually plenty of parking on the street. Did I say it is a small town?“

“Just had a nice experience here at Blackie's Came because of the steak reviews and we were not disappointed. Steak was prepared exactly as we asked. Portions were perfect, staff experience was a good balance. Received a welcome from the owner and manager will enjoying dinner. Other staff was also attentive as they passed by although our server was on top of her game. We will be regulars here now that we have found this quaint spot.“

“I like the food... I like the service but I don't like the prices.... They accept bank cards and they are very friendly in the service, they made an effort to understand my little English... And they spoke to me in some sentences in Spanish I appreciate it very much... But I didn't think the prices were fair for the product they offer... You can see that they are high for being the only pizzeria in the city. It could be called a monopoly but I imagine that no other person has offered to put another pizzeria in the place because they consider that it is very small and will have low consumption.“
