“They have tex-mex for or authentic Mexican food. It's your choice. They also have boiled shrimp in mild, medium or spicy. Everything we've tried has been delicious.”
“Beautiful Desi ambiance imparts an elegant Punjabi dhaba look and feel. I ate only rotis but these rotis are always goodVegetarian options: I only had rotis so don’t know about other dishes”
“I have been going to this place since it was in the house on 7th and I-35. Best TRUE Tex-Mex (or as we always called it, Mexican) food restaurants around. I think this type of food is becoming a lost art when you move away from the Texas border, where it began. People are so much about Fajitas and fancy style Mexican food nowadays, they don't appreciate the traditional flavors. I grew up on the cheese enchiladas with carne sauce. They bring the taco before the rest of the meal. All very traditional and awesome! Mexican Martini's are great and if you haven't tried the lemonade, I highly recommend it! The service is also very good. Glad to see a family owned place like this still thriving in the ever changing Austin landscape. Hope to go there for many years to come!”
“Really consistent with the great food and customer service. I would recommend this establishment if you’re wanting something different to eat in Mount Pleasant.”
“My husband and I had our anniversary dinner and it was the best steak house we have ever eaten at. Great atmosphere and five-star service from the hostess to the wait staff to the owner. It was an amazing dining experience and the food was delicious!! High recommend and worth drive.”
“I travel all over Texas for work and constantly need to find a good coffeeshop to work in for an hour or so. As a result, I have spent more time in small-town-Texas coffeeshops than the average person. Jo's Downtown is one of the best anywhere. The inside has the vibe of Cianfrano's in Georgetown or the old Spiderhouse in Austin without feeling like you aren't cool enough to be there. Even when super busy, the staff are warm and welcoming. It feels like hanging out at a close friend's home. The chai is one of my favorites. It's nice and spicy and not overly sweet. The only food I've had is a bagel. It's not a New York bagel by any means, but it's a hell of a lot better than what most other places in Texas call a bagel. Lastly, I love that they have a variety of seating. There are larger tables where groups could work together, cozy chairs and couches for reading by yourself or crocheting or catching up with a friend, and lots table space with convenient outlets or extension cords nearby for workers on the road like me. Jo's is one of the best things about this cute little town.”
“We had breakfast, but also got some sweet treats for later. The pancakes are perfect with homemade syrup. I love that everything was served on a skillet to keep it all hot. Wonderful family atmosphere with kind and helpful employees.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options on some cheesecakes.”
“Wonderful coffee shop with lots of space to spread out and study or talk. Also has separate meeting space and the owner does computer graphic /IT work. Named for his cat Penelope which was the name of our fur baby too.”
“On March 8, coming back from Dallas, we picked up chicken spaghetti at the Bull Pen on Mt Vernon square. The dish was tasty good, picked up packaged nicely right on time. We would do this again to have supper ready (not a hamburger) after a day out.”
“My wife and I have been eating at The CC for over two years about two to three times a month. It is hard to beat this small little restaurant for service, quality of food, and price. Give it a try, I think you will like it. ?”
“We stopped here on a whim on our drive from New Orleans back to Oklahoma and we’re so glad that we did. They had one of the best Monte Cristo sandwiches I’ve had in a while. Will definitely find a way to come back and visit again.”
“The Barbacoa tacos were to absolutely die for. The queso, really great. The rice and beans, yummyyyyy!! Limes were very juicy! And that lime avocado sauce was it! Just all around amazing! Will definitely want to come back.”
“Truck parking !!!Good TX BBQ.Best baked potato ever.Brisket was perfect.Amazing smoked sausage.Portions were huge.Coleslaw like Mama made.Turkey is a processed lunch meat style, but the smoke flavor was amazing, and on a sandwich, it works perfectly.People are nice and friendly. IF you take the time to smile and talk with them !!Parking: Trucks enter from side road !!!”
“Not the cashier fault, but she said there's a service charge, like 60 cents for single burger and 80 cents for double, it took me by surprise. Just charge the price on the menu board so you don't have to bug the cashier. All the employees were nice and friendly and food was great.”
“Such a cute little restaurant nestled off the main road. It’s in an old tire shop. So cool. The food was wonderful. I had the Birria tacos & I’ve never had them taste as good as they did there.”
“Food and service was amazing. The gentleman who served us greeted us as soon as we walked in and was so kind. Had several tables to himself and still managed to provide excellent service. As a picky eater, I am happy to say their food was so yummy! Definitely recommend!!!”
“The tacos here are absolutely delicious, never too salty or anything along those lines, the cilantro and onions always seem fresh, as well. I would recommend going here if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, and a cozy atmosphere to dine in, with your family or on your own.”
“I haven’t been to Milanos in a decade because it was trash. My sister and I ordered 4 large pizzas for pickup the other day and ate a slice in the parking lot and I could not BELIEVE how fresh and delicious these pizzas were. I almost couldn’t wait until we got home! I’m so glad I don’t have to drive a town over for pizza anymore. This place has seriously come a long way and in my opinion is the freshest, and best tasting pizza joint within a 20 mile radius!”
“It's really good and delicious smoke food, a good price, the ladies that work there are really friendly. I really recommend stopping by. The 2 meat plate is my favorite when I can't decide what to eat from all the delicious food ??”
“Visit every couple months. Owners are gracious and care about their customers. They strive to make sure you have a good experience. Food is delicious. Buy fries to share as it is always loaded. Peanuts free at the door!”
“We usually eat there and also ordered pupusas to go. My husband loves the barbecue tacos, and my daughter loves de carne asada tacos, and I love the torta, and the pupusas are so good, I really recommend anyone stopping by and try ”
“Great food and bar menu with reasonable prices. Open 7 days a week is a big win for this small town. Also, they have a happy hour menu with drink discounts and appetizers offered. Hubby and I stopped in for a late night snack and shared the spicy chicken sandwich. It was memorable in the best way. Can't wait to go back!”
“Excellent service! Brandon got me exactly what I asked even though it wasn't on the menu. It was pretty slow Thursday for lunch but I could imagine this place is packed on the weekends. Food was great!”
“The food was VERY good. I had a full breakfast and it was to go. It was prepared while I waited, very quickly. The people, including the owner, were SO nice and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and homey. I REALLY enjoyed it all. I will be back. I know their other meals are supposed to be yummy. I can't wait to try them. Their chicken fried steak and their seafood is supposed to be delicious. I WILL make time to return.Vegetarian options: Salad.Kid-friendliness: Kids will love this place and the food, no matter what meal they are there to eat. I KNOW they will enjoy it. It will give parents peace and quiet while they are eating.”
“Terrible food. When we complained, they said," we never had any in 20 years". That's a lie since the couple behind us said they complained last week, but tried it again. It was even worse. We've been there 3 times in 11 years, this will be our last!!! We all left, with no boxes. We paid but they didn't even discount the meals. Worse meals ever.”
“Spectacular all around! It's a wonderful place with great food and friendly staff. The owner was there and was part of the ambience. Not an excessively fancy place but you don't come here for linen tablecloths. My food was top quality. I had a chopped brisket sandwich and it was absolutely delicious and huge! They have a wide variety of options and even have a drive-through. Thank you for a wonderful experience, I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area!”
“Pizza was very good even though we went on a Friday during lent and could only have veggie pizza. Crust has a tinge of yeasty sweetness and is very tasty.I gather the place does a great take out business. We were the only ones in the dining room but heard many people come and go.Staff was very friendly. Although it’s pretty simple, he was eager to bring us our food, grab us some forks, and even clean up. He came and checked on us as we sat to office a few minutes before our next appointment. We are looking forward to returning on a day we can eat meat. The pizza was tasty but will be better with a little sausage and pepperoni.”
“Great place to eat and super friendly service. Since we had never been before, they were so patient with my older family members. The grilled chicken was amazingly juicy and flavorful. Green beans and Herschel fries on the side made for a great meal.”

“Barbacoa and pastor tacos is all they had on Saturday when I went but they’re solid and the order is very affordable! Feels like back in Mexico even the setup they have inside. Went and parked my semi truck right beside them.”
