I have been going to sushi yah since I was 7 years old, I am always happy with service and always glad to see the same staff have been working there since the beginning. I have never had a problem with the food and always look forward to my next visit.
I hate to be that guy. The food here wasn't very good and I can see why people commonly say it's empty. I feel like I wasted my money and could have gotten similar quality from a grocery store. The miso was bland and tasteless. The gyoza tasted like it came out of a package. I heard a microwave ding (because they're was nothing for ambiance in there at all) right before I got my Unagi, which was on a hot air balloon of rice. Did the all you can eat sushi (lunch) which is a good price. However, the sushi was not the best. Very little fish /veggies and a lot of rice. However, the spring rolls were good. The restaurant was somewhat ran down and old looking. The staff were very nice and helpful.
