The staff was friendly and we were lucky enough to meet locals and avalanche rescue dog Greta! Made our night talking to everyone and getting the insider scoop. We came a few nights and enjoyed the kareoke Thursday lol tons of heart and a chill atmosphere!”

The Yurt at Solitude 12000 Big Cottonwood Canyon Rd building 15, Solitude Fine Dining • $$$$
12000 Big Cottonwood Canyon Rd building 15, Solitude

“Absolutely a magical experience to have dinner at the Yurt. This experience comes at a price and sells out fast so make a reservation well in advance of your visit as it's only available during the weekends. We met our guide Pam in the village at Solitude where she welcomed us and outfitted us with snowshoes and headlamps for the slightly moderate hike up the mountain to the Yurt. It was so refreshing to hike through the trees and the snow to our dining adventure. Once inside the Yurt chef Andy introduced himself and welcomed us with a glass of bubbles and explained our dining experience for this evening and the menu that he had planned. He was conscious to ask about any dietary restrictions or allergies. The majority of the menu is locally sourced and includes lots of farm to table elements. We started with a plate of fresh breads and cheeses from Beehive Creamery. Next we were served a fresh mixed green salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Then the soup was a potato leek soup with bacon which was so warm and comforting. The main course was a NY Strip Steak in a special cut served atop pureed cauliflower and asparagus. The flavor was amazing. To wrap up our meal we enjoyed some salted caramel ice cream. The only thing that was lacking is the beverage menu. Only water is offered as a beverage. There is a wine and beer list available with options by the glass or the bottle and all at moderate prices which is expected at a resort. They do permit you to bring your own bottle with a modest $35 corkage fee. With this experience being so magical and modestly priced it would be nice to have a few other beverage options "included" in the cost of the dinner. This is an entire dining experience with the snowshoe hike up the mountain, a chef curated meal inside the Yurt and the opportunity for communal dinning with some new folks. The prices for this meal are really the price for the experience. We were celebrating my birthday and what an amazing way to celebrate.”

I drove from salt lake to have a sandwich and met the team who lit up my entire day. A place that still does things from scratch the way they want just for the love of it. There’s an authenticity in food you can’t fake or pay for. That’s what Hidden Peak has. It just felt like I disappeared to something important for a brief minute. “Have you ever eaten food so good it made you cry? I only have a few times, and one of them was tonight. Here at Lola's Street Kitchen. We randomly found ourselves in Midway, and needed dinner. Searched the highest-rated affordable place, and this came right up.Check the menu. Yes. So much yes.I got the portobella melt. Hubby got the steak melt.I can't think of a better sandwich I've ever had. And, kid you not, I cried as I finished the whole. Dang. Thing. The garlic Parmesan fries were soft and would have benefitted from additional soaking in water before frying, or a double fry, but our 3yo had no cares and devoured almost all of them, shockingly, because they were well-laden with Parmesan and garlic. So flavorful and delicious. Just needed crisping! On the flip side, the sweet potato fries were thin, crisp, and perfect. Their fry sauce reminds me more of Belgian Andalouse sauce and it's so good.We got takeout but just took it out to the curb and ate in the car right away. For dessert, the tres leches cake. Yaaaaas.”

I loved their homemade breakfast bars... Gluten-free and all natural ingredients. The food looked great but I didn't buy breakfast. Take your coffee next door to the big greenhouse.
