“This review was a long time coming. I was dying to try out Agora DC after my friend treated me to the Tyson's location for my birthday. Agora Tyson's was some of the best food that I've had in a while, so expectations were high for their DC location. I'm pleased to report, the food quality is identical! That means, A+ all the way around. Please try the chicken, giant prawns, jumbo scallops, octopus and lamb chops.. You'll thank me later!! Both locations have their own charm, but I'm leaning towards the DC version just a hair more because of the the indoor/outdoor seating option. Although I visited when it was cold out, the patio was still booming with the mega heat lamps. It was warm enough to sweat a little...LOL! I've been hooked on Tapas style restaurants since trying out Jaleo many moons ago. Service was great and I've put Agora on my top 5 DC restaurants list.. period!!!“

“Hands down one of the best brunch meals I've ever had. I got the batata with toum and harissa, fried halloumi with apple compote and pistachio, and scrambled egg sandwich with grilled soujak. Ali was very attentive, noticed anytime I ran out of water or even napkins. Friendly and accommodating staff, bold ambience, and mouthwatering courses!“

“In recent years there seems to be a proliferation of small-plate Mediterranean restaurants. But Yayla remains as one of the best, reasonably priced originals in northern Virginia. There is a pleasing range of mezzes, salads, entrees hot and cold, flat breads, spreads, etc . I had a Yayla mule, 3 spreads, lemony rice soup and superb shrimp. Friends chose a range of other dishes. I can guarantee whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Everything is flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented. Wait staff and servers are friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and not obtrusive. Don’t miss the nice selection of creative cocktails, wine variety and desserts. Continued success and best wishes for this popular bistro!“

“I went for iftar upon my friend's recommendation. Pleasant smells greet you as you enter. The salad bar is very fresh and very tasty. All the meats we tried were very delicious. The staff are great with their date treats, smiling faces and helpful attitude in every way. Especially the tea that came with it crowned the whole meal. You should definitely experience traditional Turkish flavors and desserts. We thank Mr. Akif and his team.“

“this is one of my favorite spots in DC. the food is always impeccably fresh, simple and elegant dishes, delicious cocktails, reasonably priced for the area, and a beautiful, welcoming ambiance inside. we went for the tasting menu on valentine's day (cheapest tasting menu in DC, but you DEFINITELY can't tell) and felt like we were celebrities with how impeccable the service was. truly gold star treatment. they described each dish, paced the courses perfectly, and cleaned the crumbs off our table between courses. i always recommend this to anyone in Adams Morgan. love going here for a happy hour as well. i recommend getting a mojito! (at a Turkish restaurant?? yes, strangely enough, they're delicious)“

“Delicious Shawarma and Gyro at Capital Doner on P Street, Washington StarsReview:Capital Doner on P Street in Washington DC is a hidden gem for anyone craving mouthwatering shawarma and gyro. I recently tried their steak box with fries and a complete salad with dressing, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor, complemented perfectly by the crispiness of the fries. The complete salad was fresh and vibrant, providing a refreshing contrast to the savory protein. What truly sets Capital Doner apart is their garlic sauce and spicy options. As a fan of bold flavors, I found these sauces to be the perfect accompaniment to my meal. The garlic sauce added a creamy richness, while the spicy option provided a satisfying kick that elevated every bite.I frequent Capital Doner often, not only for their delectable dishes but also for their flexible closing hours. Whether it's a late-night craving or a quick lunch fix, Capital Doner has always been there to satisfy my appetite.Overall, I highly recommend Capital Doner to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in Washington DC. With flavorful proteins, fresh salads, and fantastic sauces, it's a dining experience you won't want to miss.“
“We came here after going to the flea market. We love Turkish coffee. Got a Turkish coffee and Spinach Borek. It was so good and the place smells so good too. I'm gluten free but my friend got the Borek and I got the Turkish coffee. The service was good, quick and pleasant. I would go again as a cute place to walk into. There are about 4 tables so don't count on sitting to stay in there.“

“My wife and I were stuck in Washington, DC because of a weather related airplane cancellation. Since it was Christmas Day, our options for dinner were limited. We were very pleased to have chosen the Ottoman taverna. The food was phenomenal. The service was impeccable and I would recommend this to anybody looking for a dining experience in Washington, DC. While it is certainly not cheap, it is not terribly expensive either. The food was unbelievably delicious. Oddly, our Lyft driver who delivered us to the door happened to be Turkish and was telling us how great the place was as we arrived.“

“The food was really delicious. They make everything themselves including the appetizers. Doner was fresh. They put a new doner twice a day. You need to make a reservation for dinner or there is no place. Luckily for us, we were able to find a table after waiting for a while. The prices are not very cheap but the food is delicious. We had katmer for dessert and it was very good. There were 6 types of raki. They said they have Turkish breakfast everyday. Not tried it yet.“

“Been here multiple times and the food quality is pretty good overall. Great place to grab a bite and work/study.The menu was very confusing. You flip through multiple pages of what appears to be haphazardly put together. I’d recommend they update them to simplify.“

“This place is an unexpected gem hidden in a strip mall setting. The food is absolutely delicious. My family is very fond of the brussel sprouts. We've tried almost everything on the menu and we have never been disappointed. Eating in is great but seating is limited. Delivery is always packed well and still warm. Overall I recommend trying Smyrna.“
