We were cutting it a little close before boarding, but someone recommended Ben's Chili Bowl. I'm glad we stopped by. The chili "dog" and the fries were good. We shared the chili dog, so we did not get the spicy one, but the chili still has a small kick to it. If I get a chance (and I'm not sharing with the wifey), I'd like to try it spicy. It was quite messy trying to eat in an airport, and we didn't grab napkins.
I ordered a beef chili hot dog and the hot dog was great but the chili taste like card board. I haven’t eaten in Ben’s for at least 20 years. The old chili was much much better.

Absolutely good soul food. They get very busy, so it is normal to have a wait time to order or to get your order. Sometimes short staffed, which is acceptable because their food is amazing and their people and history are amazing!! To be blessed to have a Ben's Chili Bowll in DCA.
