“Went to a local dive bar.I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go to McDonald’s and go home… I do Uber and this place is in the middle of where the Uber trips come from in Fredericksburg.I had dropped somebody off near the area and saw all the cute places, so I circled it about 10 times praying to god on whether I needed a burger or I needed $10 and no burger…I got the best burger I’ve had in years.Absolute banger burger.Swiss cheese, sautéed portobello, grilled red onion, several hefty slices of crispy bacon, beef was excellent quality, exactly as much carbon from the grill as I would want on a grilled burger, on evenly toasted brioche.They made it extra special for me and did fried pickles as the side instead of fries.The flavors, and everything was hot and perfectly crispy. I will be returning there very soon.Whenever an Uber passenger from the VRE asks me “what’s good around here” I will have the answer.“
“I had lunch with my son there yesterday, and the service was exceptional. My server was great. But what stood out was the kitchen manager. He had just gotten off work and happened to hear a comment as he was passing by. He stopped and made sure we were happy with our meals. He went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful dining experience. Love the attention and hospitality.“
“I have not been to hard times in a few years there isn't one in Caroline where I live but I wanted to take my son out to eat for lunch so I picked him up from work and went all the way down to the Falmouth bridge and realized that hard times isn't hard times anymore so we then went back up to 4 Mile fork and oh my gosh the food was so good it was kind of slow for a late lunch I think it was like 1:30 but we got the chili sampler I think Travis has only been there one time awhile ago he really like the chili he got his favorite, chicken tenders and I got the whiskey barbecue burger oh my gosh it was so good. We also got a large nachos I asked her if she could put the tomatoes onions and jalapenos on the side cuz I don't eat those and Travis likes them and he answered to put the sour cream on the side cuz he doesn't particularly care for sour cream so she brings us this huge platter of chips with the chili of our choice the Texas Chili and shredded cheese and these smaller dishes with sour cream onion tomatoes jalapenos all in separate little things and the large was very large we could have ate that and been full it was very very good I brought home a big container of nachos to have leftover for a midnight snack Travis brought home a few chicken tenders and fries because it was a lot of chicken tenders and fries I tried to eat most of my burger but I wound up bringing home half because the thing is enormous I asked her to have it medium and it was perfect it was pink throughout the entire patty and when they say it's not frozen and it's hand pressed I believe it that was such a big thick juicy perfectly cooked burger and the fries you could tell they had cut them fresh they were not frozen everything was just amazing The atmosphere was nice it's not bright but it's not dark it's just right with lights all against the walls some country music playing and she even gave us to go cups so we can put the rest of her drinks in and take with us for free The waitress was such a sweetheart we will definitely be going back so if you're looking for a nice atmosphere wonderful people fantastic food you've got to try hard times cafe.“
“Service started out great but then we didn't really see anyone until we tried to get the attention for the check. A party of like 12 was sat and that took all the attention. We had a training duo, I could tell the trainer was doing a great job, the host just over sat them.My husband gat a burger and he loves it. I got the fish n chips. It was ok. Outside was over done a bit and the inside was a little under done. French fries on both plates were fantastic.All in all , we will go back. We like the place and it is tough getting help. At least this place was training people and trying.“
