“In case you, like me, heard about the bread pudding, yes, it's incredible. Come here and try it. You won't regret it.Anyway, for the real review, I came here for dinner with my friends. It was an incredible meal. I got the beef wellington and, of course, bread pudding for dessert. The beef wellington was a perfect medium rare, as it should be, and was the first time I've eaten a filet mignon in my life and didn't hate it. That's a huge plus! The asparagus that came with it was incredible, too. I know this shouldn't have to be a compliment, but you could taste how fresh both the asparagus and time since it touched the pan (or grill? idk) was.Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes left a lot to be desired. I had my friend taste some, too, just in case, and she confirmed my suspicions: almost tasteless. I had no idea something that interacted with chives could have so little flavor. Thankfully there's table salt available, but I was very disappointed. Mashed potatoes is usually the perfect complement to steak—the Robin to Batman, but in this case I got a filler episode where Robin was on vacation because the actor was busy. One of my friends got the stuffed gouda burger (or something like that), and he enjoyed it, save for a slight lacking of sauce; he said the burger overall was a bit dry, but he made sure to specify that the burger patty was definitely juicy and delicious. His wife ordered the fish & chips (which was my second choice, as it's listed as their signature dish), and she let me try a piece. The fish was incredible, and the tartar sauce, a sauce I normally do not like at all, was perfect for it.In case everybody else hasn't gushed enough about the bread pudding, OMG IT WAS SO GOOD. My only complaint would be that I failed to portion the scoop of ice cream correctly and ran out. That's entirely on me.I gave three stars for atmosphere, and that's mostly preference. I don't like loud areas with a lot of people. Unfortunately, places that serve good food tend to be popular and attract lots of people, especially on a Friday night. This is also entirely on me.What's not on me, though, was the horrible smell of smoke that came up randomly during our dinner. My friends and I suspect somebody got a drink that's served on fire, but we couldn't tell. I saw a little bit of smoke in the air, and it smelled like a bonfire for ten minutes. I did not enjoy that. I don't know if they can accommodate this, but I'll have to remember to ask if there's seating away from the bar area.I 100% intend on returning here some time in the future, and I will update this review with my full thoughts on the fish & chips when I try them at that time.Parking: There is parking available right outside the restaurant, but good luck getting it. Just park a few hundred feet away in the huge mall parking (Macy's, Paragon, etc.) lot and enjoy the outside air for a few extra minutes on your way in.“

“The only reason this review is 4 stars is because they got rid of their Chorizo Hash.My girlfriend and I love to stop at Foode whenever we drive through Fredericksburg. We’ve been 5 or 6 times in the past year. I always get the Chorizo Hash bowl, but I was so disappointed the last time we went because they no longer serve the Chorizo Hash. I reluctantly got the Chiliquilles instead. The dish was very flavorful in its own right, and it lessened my disappointment somewhat, but I implore Foode to bring back the Chorizo Hash permanently. It was one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. In lieu of bringing back the dish, I would love to have the recipe for the tahini sauce.“

I booked reservations for my boyfriend's birthday because we enjoy food and wine pairings and I had found this place on the internet and thought it was right up his ally. The ambiance is clean and modern. The food is off the chart. And the service was okay... with the most cordial person being the chef who brought one of our meals out and chatted with us a bit. I would normally enter in to a long drawn out review here, but I am reading others' and they say it best. I will say that the Salmon and Ginger was actually one of the best morsels of food I have ever put in my mouth! And I despise Salmon. LOL“

“Went to a local dive bar.I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go to McDonald’s and go home… I do Uber and this place is in the middle of where the Uber trips come from in Fredericksburg.I had dropped somebody off near the area and saw all the cute places, so I circled it about 10 times praying to god on whether I needed a burger or I needed $10 and no burger…I got the best burger I’ve had in years.Absolute banger burger.Swiss cheese, sautéed portobello, grilled red onion, several hefty slices of crispy bacon, beef was excellent quality, exactly as much carbon from the grill as I would want on a grilled burger, on evenly toasted brioche. They made it extra special for me and did fried pickles as the side instead of fries. The flavors, and everything was hot and perfectly crispy. I will be returning there very soon.Whenever an Uber passenger from the VRE asks me “what’s good around here” I will have the answer.“

“Went to Casey's last week for dinner. I made a reservation for 6pm but definitely didn't need it. It was pretty empty the entire time we were there, but Cheeky's which is attached to it had a steady stream of people. I pee a lot and kept looking in there as I went by. Haha. The music from Cheeky's could easily be heard in Casey's which was kind of weird. This is definitely an upper scale place, and just found it weird. The food though.... Was amazing. We were there during happy hour time so most apps were half off and our teas were $2. I hate paying a ton for iced tea, and was happy to see the cheap price. We ordered 4 different appetizers because why not? The cauliflower, brussel sprouts, artichoke and duck wings. Everything was really good and had interesting textures and flavors. Definitely upscale appetizers. None of us really liked the artichoke appetizer but it was very pretty looking. Haha. For dinner we had a Cesar salad with chicken and salmon, short rib pasta (lots of ingredients that worked together but was somewhat bland. I was expecting the short rib to be on top with sauce on it, but it was just mixed in together. Personal preference but I wouldn't order it again.), and steak. I think the steak was the winner of the night. Our total was about $40 per person - splitting the 4 appetizers 3 ways, tea and dinner. Not bad at all for the quality of food.I think this isn't an everyday place, but definitely would consider it for a date night out or special occasion. Or maybe a happy hour place. The fancy appetizers for $6 each is well worth a visit.“

“Update from a month agoUnfortunately, just like so many other places, there is a lack of consistency when it comes to quality of food, specifically for phone, take out ordersI have ordered this item a couple of times and each time the quality of the food served was less than I expected. The last time the chorizo was greasy, some of the potatoes were cold/hard and shortly after eating this, it upset my stomach; probably the grease.I was not going to return, but decided to try the vegetarian version. Instead of egg whites, the cook decided to do a fried egg. I was not in the mood for sending food back or having to wait for my order to be prepared correctly. This is why I expect my order to be repeated back to me, of which it was, yet my order was still not prepared correctly. My egg whites are always scrambled and there was yellow in the egg indicating that there was yoke and not egg whites.?This lack of consistency eliminates my desire to patronize this establishment...at least for phone, take out orders. ?Initial reviewWas looking for a good brunch with good reviews. This place appeared to be worth a try. Glad that I tried it.?Only street parking available, but able to find parking directly across the street. Unfortunately, only steps and no ramp available to enter. ? Also, the door is very heavy and as soon as you push the door to come in, there is very little room to stand while wanting to be seated because not that big; the door is very heavy to pull to exit. ?Ordered the chorizo hash and dark cocoa biscuit. The chorizo hash was a pleasant suprise and a healthy serving size. Looking forward to ordering that dish again. Would definitely recommend.Did not know what to expect for the biscuit. It was a bit dry, too thick and a little hard on the outside. It was edible, but I was not impressed...$4 for 1 biscuit is ridiculous. ?“

“We were early for our reservation. ( i-95 is unpredictable) Seated promptly. Drinks, on point. Appetizers were yum. We especially enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. Great balance. Mains were good. We had pork chop with green beans and fingerling potatoes....the pork chop was definitely a win. Flavor and cooked perfectly, the green beans cooked and seasoned well, but not particularly special. The potatoes were underseasoned, and could've been more crispy. The crab cakes were awesome. Clearly almost no filler! Garlic mash was good, but not outstanding. Creamed spinach was rich as six foot....balanced with the garlic. Overall, yes, we will be back. Amazing service and attention. Don't show without a reservation, and, as clearly stated on the door, no one under 18 yrs of age. Don't show up with an infant carrier.“

“Curitiba Art Cafe is my favorite coffee shop in Fredricksburg Va. They serve good coffee and after a certain time they sell alcohol, which is cool. If you ever visit the “burg” as they say check this place out great everything. Just don’t go there before 9am because you will be waiting outside lol!“

“This place is PHENOMENAL! Went to Foode on "first Friday" Arrived without a reservation, and despite being pretty busy was seated right away. Hostess and my server (Kat) both recommended the confit duck leg (it was the feature entree) but as you can see I went a different direction (I had reviewed the menu before I got there). Kat was a great waitress, attentive, yet not over the top attentive. Started with the local sourdough boule which came warm with soft butter and olive oil (because I love bread and I knew how well it would go with the entree). Off to a great start. For my entree I had the shrimp and grits with a side of the roasted root vegetables. The shrimp and grits was really good, there's a flavor in there I could not identify but added not only flavor but a very interesting bouquet. Shrimp were relatively giant and were perfect. Roasted root vegetables were, again, perfect....a nice variety of vegetables and a surprise of candied walnut mixed in which added a whole new flavor dimension. I did take the hostesses recommendation and had the chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Here's where they go from 5 to 4 stars. Yes, the presentation was awesome (I mean, haven't we always said to ourselves if a restaurant would just serve some milk with dessert?) and the cookies were warm and giant. But...they aren't really chocolate chip cookies. They're more like a spice-oatmeal cookie with some chocolate chips added in. I was disappointed, not because they didn't taste good (they did) but because they weren't really chocolate chip cookies. Foode is housed in an old bank building, nice decor. I didn't see much of the space but what I saw was pretty cool. I will definitely be back. Pricey? Not really. Yes, my bill was $62 before tip....but I did take my leftovers with me, so 2 meals for $62? Ok.“
