“They had a special for spicy BBQ sandwich when I stopped in. I picked it over their usual delightful chicken salad sandwich and I was amazed by its deliciousness. I would highly recommend both of these sandwiches ?! This is one of my favorite spots in Hampton because you can get a snack and then walk along the moat to the shores!“

Capstan Bar Brewing Company Brewery • $$
2036 Exploration Way, Hampton

“Off the beaten path, a great place for a quick stop, but defiantly worth seeking out. Beer flights are nicely priced, you get 5 pours in very large tasters - a nice bump up from commercial establishments. TV’s well placed; the space is laid out nicely for casual groups or single visitors. Their tap list has a variety of choices, and they host nightly events/specials.Wish they had their BBQ truck open on a Tuesday (check their website for the schedule) so I’ll defiantly be back to try their brisket.“

“The staff were very nice, and I really enjoyed the venue - an older house converted into a bar. Very cozy. I can't say I love their cider, though. Maybe it's just a different style of cider, but their cider felt much too sugary and not nearly as boozy as I'm used to, nor as I prefer. This is consistent across all of their ciders, including the cider I was told was the "most dry." Perhaps it's intentional, perhaps it's a regional thing, I don't know, just not my cup of tea.“

St. George Brewing Company Brewery • $$
204 Challenger Way, Hampton

“This is a really cool little spot. Great selection of beer. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great selection of beers. I would have given a 5 star rating, but the woman who waited on us was clearly having a bad day. Service and attitude matter. Still with the trip, stay away from the BEER WENCH!“

“This place is amazing and is a hidden gem! We went on a nice cool day and sat on the deck. The views are fantastic. However, you have to climb a large set of stairs to get to the restaurant, so you might find it difficult if you have mobility issues. They have a wide selection of food that is some of the best and fresh seafood in town! The service was very friendly and the prices were reasonable. You have to give them some time because all the food is cooked when ordered. They have options to sit inside, but I recommend sitting outside and enjoying the delicious food!“
