We had a very good experience here. Cocktails and food were good quality. The service was good. It was very busy, but the staff was friendly, professional, helpful, and efficient. It is a charming atmosphere in a great old inn.

I wasn't very impressed. The drink I ordered wasn't great. Tasted like I was drinking hand sanitizer. The food was okay and very over priced.

We dined on a Sunday night. The food was amazing. My spouse had the duck with potatoes and broccolini and I had the snapper with wild rice and broccoli. We had drinks and cheesecake for dessert. This is a beautiful restaurant with a great staff. Kudos to the chef for the excellent food and marvelous presentation.

Got blackened fillet & a chocolate dessert. It was all amazing food! I can't wait to go back again!
We were intrigued by the speakeasy so we had to try it. It is not a speakeasy by any means. The only speakeasy thing about it is the name and that it's in the bottom of the Mimslyn Inn hotel. I've been to other speakeasies that really played the part. This was just a normal restaurant. It didn't really have any fancy cocktails either. Food was good. We got the Virginia ham flatbread to start. It had little strips of ham, Brie and caramelized onions. It should have been called a Brie flatbread since that's what it tasted like. I love Brie though so I was happy, but you couldn't really taste the ham. For my meal, I got the lobster ravioli which came in a tarragon cream sauce. It was yummy. Don't think it was homemade, but it was still good. Hubby got the Reuben with fries. The fries came out with ketchup so he asked for some remoulade. The remoulade was listed under the fish and chips, so we figured he would be able to get some. The waitress didn't know what we were talking about so she brought us tartar and ranch. He liked the ranch and ate all his food. He said the Reuben was good. We also got a bottle of Riesling, which was nice. The restaurant just needs a little face lift. Maybe some new carpet and something to make it more of a speakeasy vibe. Service was friendly and attentive. We don't need to come back here, but we're glad we tried it.

You think the prices seem reasonable until you see your plate. Don't be fooled the plates are small and by whipped potatoes they mean mash that taste like it has no butter and with lumps. They put onion's in the bread and whipped butter. The sauces on both entrees were super sweet and not savory. They gave 4 asparagus or 4 under cooked broccoline. They only give half a breast of duck and cooked both entrees the wrong temps. The sweet tea was the best part of the whole experience. The guy singing was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk or hear the server and it never stops. I guess it was his chance during our dinner date to debut his depressing songs about dying and covid but that's a first for me and now a last. On vacation the last thing I wanted to think about was being sick again and my dead relative. I hear the word covid everyday at my job.
