“Upon arrival we were greeted very friendly by Amanda and Whiticar, the owners. It was very kind and thoughtful to be provided warm blankets as we were cold but wanted to sit outdoors. They are both amazing people! Very welcoming hosts as we spoke to them for a long time. They gave us honest recommendations. We spent 3 hours enjoying the view. It was so refreshing and relaxing. The wine and charcuterie board were delicious! Phenomenal place, highly recommend 11/10. The price was well suitable. The quality of the product and view speaks for itself. I wish we would’ve had enough time to go again (I was out of town). Hopefully next time we make a trip back to VA.“

“Tried a flight of 5- highlights:Cab franc- bright red fruit consisting of cassis, raspberry, hint of jam, licorice, hint of violets. Velvet moderate tannins. Beautifully done. Resembles Loire CF but with new world characteristics.Tannat- darker fruits this time with blackberry, black cherry, ground chocolate, hint of baking spice. Med-high tannins with inky mouthfeel. Complex yet approachable.Red blend- take the above two and meet somewhere in the middle. Very good as well.Tried a couple of whites as well, both very good. Gruner veltiliner stood out.Hidden gem for sure“

“An absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable--Dederick was attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The tasting room, loft area and expansive patio with breathtaking views were awesome and very relaxing. The wines were all good quality. We preferred the whites over red, especially the Chardonnay- they offer 3 versions- oaked, unoaked and barrel fermented! We brought bottles of all three home. Reds were primarily bordeax style blends, each with unique characteristics.It's rare to find a place that exceeds expectations on all fronts like this. “First timer here. After hearing many glowing remarks about the Apple cider donuts at this establishment, I made the 1.5 hour drive out to Linden, VA. Walking in, it reminded me of your classic general store on steroids. There was a little bit of everything from signs with cute sayings to a variety of hard ciders from across the state. There are two areas where you can order food. Head to the right where it is less crowded and sit at the bar. I went with the staff's suggestion and ordered the Grilled Cheese sandwich with Brie, bacon & apricot jam with a balsamic glaze that came with French fries. That bacon jam was so good that I ended up walking away with two jars. The apple donuts lived up to the glowing reviews and I could see why people make the drive for these treats.“

“What a nice "discovery" this place was for us. Riding our motorcycles back home after visiting Western Maryland and WV, we decided to stop for lunch here. Food was abundant, fresh, and tasty. We all had the country fried steak breakfast platter. Cannot go wrong with it.Another pleasant surprise was the coffee. Best cup of coffee I've ever had at a diner. We kept asking for "more coffee, please"!Another special note about our server, Allison, she was friendly, professional and very attentive.Will definitely come back when I'm the Marshall area.“

“This place was renamed years ago The Blue Door. I dont know why Google hasn't kept up. It's a lovely old building, once one of the county's neighborhood schools before all the county schools were incorporated into one location. It has since been turned into a restaurant and inn. I've not stayed there, as I live in the area, but I have eaten there and recently threw a party there in one of the dining rooms. The decor is modern and serene. The service is friendly but non-intrusive. The menu features local and seasonal fare, so it changes from time to time. Everything runs well under the watchful eye of its gracious owner Reem.“

“Came here for the first time today for an Australian Shepherd meet up, and had a blast! Super dog friendly and a huge outside space and stream for dogs to play in.Staff were very friendly & the cider was fantastic! Will definitely be back!“

“First Visit to Barrel Oak Winery in VA.Amazing place for people who like wines and Beer,huge collection .They also have fresh pizza outlet which taste really good.Some live music at the spot.lot of benches outside and good spot for family or couples away from noise in calm place.They also have inside sitting and woodfire for evening.You can bring your pet along,have some good family time,food,wine and great view from the hill.“

“The food is fresh and delicious. The Brussel Sprouts is great as is the fish and chips. Ask for sweet potatoes fries which is an option instead of French fries. The Cobb salad with salmon is fantastic as are the chicken pot pie and chicken piccata. Service is friendly and attentive. Cozy pub atmosphere is wonderful especially if you sit near the fireplace. Ask for the Pub Bread..it's worth the carbs! A great place to gather.“
