“Awesome venue, Afghan dishes were great and reminded me of the food in the middle east. Only issue was they were out of lamb which caused us to change up our food choices. Would prefer if that happened the business would advise you before sitting down. Overall great experience!!“

“This place is a true local gem. Food is of very high quality, and everything is consistently cooked to perfection. Their consistency is actually really impressive - I’ve never been disappointed by a single thing, and I’ve eaten A LOT of their food. But everything is so good, so I haven’t really made my way outside of the same few items from their menu. The difference is that the staff actually care about their customers, and take pride in their food. It’s not so common these days, and is a pleasant surprise. It’s the reason I will always eat there.“

“One of the best spots in the DMV hands down. I wanted to check out the place for some time because I had never experienced Taco Tuesday for myself. Like it was just lingering in my head until one day I suddenly said to myself, " I should really try something new today ". And thus, here we are with a review. La Tingeria is a Taco Shop located in Falls Church. If there's one thing I will have to mention, the parking situation is like trying to solve a jigsaw puzzle. Why are there so many cars here? How can anyone park here? There's parking on the streets, the sidewalk but it's very limited. I'm not saying there are better options close to you but if you are briefly going in to pick up food, I think you'd be okay with parking relatively close by. I must have hit the lottery when I accidently checked Instagram or so on Tuesday. Saw a post from where their social media representative mentioned 5-9 PM for 2 dollar Tacos. That's amazing! I decided to splurge because why not right? After parking, I ventured inside. I think I must have been the first to walk in once it hit 5 PM, I was on a mission for sure. I immediately went to the board to check out all the Taco Items they had.. Birria, Chorizo, Hal Pastor, Carne Asada, ect... So many good options. I got 2 Birria Goat, 2 Birria Beef, 1 Tinga Chicken, 1 Tinga Beef, 2 Chorizos for my choice of tacos. I also paid for Consomme which is an absolute must if I'm going to dip my tacos in delicious broth. I also had to get a Mexican Coke too. The only downside was there was one that wasn't chilled so it was at room temperature. The Birria Goat/Beef were soft, tender chunks of meat that melted in your mouth with full bliss the minute you took a bite. Dipping it into the Consommé felt like a dream came true. I never experienced a wide array of euphoria after eating good tacos. The Tinga Chicken/Beef Tacos were okay but the meat kept falling out of the Taco and into the Consommé. It was good but I think I would opt for something else. The Chorizo tacos had a slight kick to them but not overpowering. I think with the Consommé they brought more of that saltiness out. For around 24 dollars, this is a match made in heaven. I think truly this is a place I will check out again for sure.“

“I was just in town for a meeting and saw this hole in a wall. It followed my rules for this sort of restaurant which is that it has a very generic name and a limited menu. I wasn't disappointed. A reasonably priced example of a chicken/lamb over rice/salad sort of place as good as I've had in any major city. Again not mind blowing but it was exactly what I expected. The red sauce was good and it had the standard selection of veggies/toppings. I would definitely eat there again. The worker inside was very kind and attentive. In the back there is seating for a couple dozen people but is mostly a takeout/door dash sort of place. I had no issues parking out front.Parking: Has a half dozen or so spots. Had no issues parking in front of the store.“

“We were so focused on enjoying the great food that we didn't take any pictures. Mohsin was great on the phone as well as in person. Came to the table to check on us and solicit feedback. Explained their philosophy and what makes their food stand out from the rest. Will definitely go back and this time take pictures!“

“Delicious meal! Highly recommended. 10/10 service and experience. Would happily return to try more items off the menu. Miriam was our hostess and server. She explained the menu with great detail and was a sheer delight to interact with. I had the chicken bowl with my sides being the chickpeas, eggplant, spinach, and naan. It's fun to mix and match all these delightful tastes and flavors. I washed the meal down with their luscious yogurt drink and had leftovers to cover dinner! Thanks so much for a great meal. See you next time!“

“Funny enough, this place was mentioned in a Reddit thread for hidden gems in DC. The food was highly praised, and the original poster gave a special shout out to the website (I highly recommend checking it out; it’s seriously a delight). This was enough for me to check it out for myself, and it was absolutely fantastic. Super reasonable prices, the girl who made my food was so sweet, and everything I had was delicious. I got a pork belly bahn mi and chicken spring rolls with peanut sauce.Solid food, solid experience ?“

“I eat here once or twice a week and it's consistently great. They serve huge portions of delicious food and the staff is super nice. You can't go wrong here if you're in the mood for or something fast, tasty, and inexpensive. Lamb/chicken with rice or the gyro are my go-to and they never disappoint. Bonus points because the owner looks a bit like Lou Ferrigno“

“The food here is wonderful. Their chapli kabob were my favorite. So flavorful. Their Chana masala were also really good. Was not a fan of their spinach curry at all. And I really wish they had real cups for water. They only had small Styrofoam cups and you have to fill up the water yourself from the corner. Very annoying and takes away from the dinner experience. Such an easy thing to fix as well, will have a lot of impact in the customer comfort.“

“A lovely Ethiopian restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, the owners are very welcoming. I've had the Kitfo here, some other beef dishes, and lamb. I haven't tried everything so far, but the Kitfo is definitely my favourite! I recommend getting it 100% raw - I haven't gotten sick from eating it and it goes to show you how clean the food prep and restaurant is. Also, the owners sell lentils and Injera chips which are AMAZING. Very well done!“

“May 2024 update: Fava Pot has become hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the broader Washington DC area. The quality of food remains consistently strong and super tasty; probably the best hummus and fresh baked pita I've had in a long time, for starters. This place has become our default go-to for anytime we want tasty food. It's also great for bringing guests since the menu is large and diverse, so can accommodate pretty much any dietary needs. We liked their food so much we ended up asking them to cater our wedding picnic, which went really well.-------------------------------------Original review: Excellent food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff and owners made this a very pleasant experience. Can't wait to go back and try even more dishes!“

“It's good, flavorful, cheap for the portion, relatively healthy (if you stick with chicken and ask for extra salad), and fast. I usually get 1 - 2 meals out of one platter depending on how hungry I am. If I get extra meat it's nearly always two.“

“We got the Chicken Shawarma and an Afghan Burger, not knowing that it wasn't a burger in the American sense, but it was an interesting surprise! The Chicken itself in the shawarma was a bit dry, but the combination of sauce, seasoning, and the afghan bread was really tasty, note that there is ALOT of black pepper. The Afghan burger itself was alright, the volume of food for the price you pay is pretty good, finding food in NoVA for sub $15 that will fill you up is always nice to see. There were fries, boiled eggs, and a sausage, along with a lot of black pepper once again, not sure if there was supposed to be a sauce but that might've helped the burger be a bit more tasty/less dry. Overall it's a pretty good option if you're passing by the food truck and want a quick bite, or are in the mood for shawarma/Afghan burgers in general! The food took a bit to prep, but service was really friendly.“

“It was just okay to me. My kids loved it. They liked the chickpeas and bread. I thought the portion size was reasonable. The chicken kabob was probably the best. The beef and lamb were a bit dry. There is no luxury here for dining. You are just eating in a small place with enough space for about 20 people max. It was decently clean. I would eat lunch here again. It’s not a date night though.“

“CHA Street Food doesn't mess around when it comes to Aesthetics. A mix between Red, Yellow, Pink, Blue Colors just showcases how vibrant they want the environment to be. It's very trendy and I could see why people who would come here would come here to just for the looks alone. Right around the corner from Mamam Joon lies CHA. It's very fast casual as you have lots of spacious tables to sit and choose from but you just order up at the counter and pick up your food when called. I came here on mid afternoon where there was only just me. I wasn't there for too long as I ordered the Zinger Chicken Sandwich & Mirchi Fries and a can of Coke because why not. The Zinger Chicken Sandwich consisted of a piece of Fried Chicken fried well, lettuce, and spicy red mayo sauce. It wasn't spicy biting into it but it was a delicious crunch when I was able to taste everything all at once. The Mirchi Fries were interesting as the dry seasoning that's coated all over them did have a small kick but it bring out more flavor when biting into one. I really did enjoy these a lot and would order again if I came back. Besides from aesthetics, it's clear of what CHA Street Food wants to be. A modern twist to what Indian Street Food is that caters for anyone looking for a quick bite or a nice place to hang out. Check this place out.“

“Great food and atmosphere! The meat was very flavorful and the rice was delicious! Only downside, no real hot sauce (besides red hot which isn’t a hot sauce) and no garlic paste. Hard to eat Mediterranean food without either. Still a 5 stars experience- service on point, food is great and tea!“

“Fairly young business. According to the owner they just opened doors about three months ago, so a few kinks BUT awesome and chill hangout spot. I’m looking forward to visiting again in the future.Food:I cannot gush enough about the food. My friends and I, total of 4 people, shared mozzarella sticks and the mixed grilled platter. The food was amazingly spiced! I and one other split what was left. The desserts were good. Tiramisu, my favorite, was absolutely delicious. The Rose cake and Ras Malayi were made by the owner’s wife and pretty good. The cheesecake was a miss for us though, it was rather dense.Hookah:Great service and attention to when the coals needed to be refreshed. I had the lemon mint, my friends had the gum mint and gummy bear respectively. The gummy bear was too sweet for me but my friend liked it so eh.Cleanliness:Very clean. The bathrooms are easy to find.Atmosphere:Maybe because it was early but there weren’t a ton of people inside. Which I liked, but I’m on the older side so I don’t really need the energy of people around me. Would have been nice if there was some low key music in the background though. It did feel like my friends and I were a bit loud and obvious while we chatted.“

“Shawarma House catered our daughter's wedding reception and everyone raved about the food and thought we were geniuses for catering with a food truck! It was seamless working with Ghassan from start to finish and I am so thankful for him! Communication was easy as he was always very responsive. He made providing a delicious, hot dinner to 150 guests a breeze. He had the food all prepared and with the help of his brother-in-law he served it up quickly on demand. He exceeded expectations in both service and the quality of food. Besides being an excellent cook he is honest and kind. I highly recommend Shawarma House to anyone looking for catering.“

“I've been eager to try Eerkin's Uyghur Cuisine for a few months now! My pal and I ventured to the Fairfax location and were excited to try out a variety of Uyghur specialties. The ambiance of the restaurant was quaint and cozy. From the checkered table cloth to yellow walls, I loved how simple and classic all of the decor was alongside Uyghur artifacts. You can really tell Eerkin's is a lively establishment that embodies pieces of Uyghur culture everywhere you turn. I'd also like to applaud the ability for this restaurant to bring together families and friends from all cultures - absolutely beautiful to witness! The service was incredible! Our servers made sure to give us accurate wait times for our food to be ready. They ensured that if a table was available they would let us know and they did just that! We decided to eat the food out of the to-go boxes to save on cleanup, but they were so kind and offered to provide us with additional plates if needed. We started off with two Lamb Kebabs and Samsa, a bun with minced beef, onion, and seasoned with black pepper. The kebabs were tasty bites sprinkled with cumin/house spices that were a great start to the meal. The Samsa was a bit on the heavier side with a strong meaty and onion flavor. Think a meat pie with great spice! We then got the Homemade Laghman - hand-pulled noodles with stir fried lamb and an assortment of onions and peppers. I really enjoyed how the juices from the lamb was essentially the sauce that bound the peppers and onions. Phenomenal! To finish off, we got the Khhazan Lamb Kabab with naan. I really loved the cut on this lamb and thought it paired perfectly with buttery, soft Uyghur naan. The lamb was slightly spicy and packed a great flavor that submerge throughout the naan. Very unique taste that was delectable. The meats were divine! Eerkin's spice mix of a spicy red chili and cumin that was savory in the best way possible. Each were bursting with flavor, incredibly juicy, and were cooked just right. Amazing, quality food and I cannot wait to come back to try more. A fantastic introduction to Uyghur Cuisine - a new favorite of mine!“

“The tandoori chicken (asked them to make it extra spicy) is the best I’ve had in the city. Comes with rice/naan and chickpeas. Not ideal to dine in though. Just take out.Unlike most reviews here I do NOT recommend the butter chicken. Tangy/sour, runny and a strong tomato flavor and a whole lot of food coloring. Not authentic.“

“Just came here for lunch with a coworker and the place was completely empty. I think part of it was because we did come a little early (11:40am-ish), but left at 12:30pm and still no other people ate inside. There were people picking up orders or door-dash deliveries, etc. In any case, we sat down and the service was very fast and courteous. I ordered the Pad See Ewe and it arrived promptly (and super hot too!). The portions were decent and our water was filled once. It was super quiet, so not sure how the vibe is on a Friday or Saturday night. When we paid, the waitress (who I think may have been the owner?) arrived with a ipad where we simply tapped our credit cards and put in a tip. NGL, I like to tip in cash, so I preemptively took out my cash to show the waitress I was not going to forget tipping her, all the while I tapped "no tip" - even though I did tip her! Haha. Overall, a great lunch spot and I will definitely come back here. My only thing I would comment is that there are not a lot of parking spots in front of the restaurant.“

“I went with a friend to Marib for the first time last night, and it was an absolutely top-notch experience on every possible level. MIND BLOWN. The staff members were so incredibly friendly and welcoming, took time to explain the menu and history of food in the region. My friend and I ordered traditional Yemeni dishes, and they were absolutely delectable, piping hot, beautiful, simple yet intricate. I lean vegetarian, and although they were very proud of their lamb specialties and hoped I'd order in that direction, this delicate veggie dish - which arrived in a clay pot! - is my new favorite thing on Earth. Lovely fresh vegetables and a fine blend of spices in a beautiful sauce, served with an extra-large pillow of warm fresh-baked tandoori bread. I was on cloud nine! I also had two cups of the loveliest Yemeni tea, full of spices and aromatics - not too sweet, just right. This place is a GEM. Everyone was so kind, answered all our questions, the food came out super fast and was simply marvelous, it's open late, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the dishes were scrumptious and clearly cooked with a lot of tradition and love. I couldn't ask for anything more, and I will be back regularly! What a find!“

“Dave’s hot chicken is the best. I can’t get enough of this place, the chicken sliders and cheese fries are delicious as well as the milkshakes. The price is pretty reasonable as well. The Mac and cheese is not it for me though, it tastes like microwaved Mac and cheese and I would not recommend it. Daves hot chicken would’ve have gotten a 5 if the Mac and cheese tasted better.“
