“Each time I go, everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is fantastic! The best seating is outdoors, and if the weather gets chilly, there is a basket of blankets inside that you can borrow from to keep you cozy. It's like going to your best friend's house and spending the day out back with good games, great food, and the best company! I highly recommend stopping in!“
“The food here was excellent. Service was wonderful, and the surrounding ambiance wasn't too loud that you couldn't hear the conversation going on at your own table. We will definitely be back! Also, this restaurant was very accommodating to food allergies. A definite plus!“
“The greatest culinary mystery of Hampton Roads is how Taste makes their multi-grain bread taste so good! Plenty of crunchy crust, pillowy soft interior, thick enough to where it holds up the sandwich ingredients, but not too thick to where it overwhelms the other ingredients. My go to's are the Beach Club (roast beef instead of ham) and the Northender (Swiss cheese instead of Havarti and house dressing instead of basil mayo). Don't skip on the house or hot house dressings. The bottles aren't cheap, but it's the chef's kiss to these sandwiches. And major props for having Dr Brown's soda and Route 11 chips! Parking is usually a challenge, so if you get a spot on the street, count your blessings. Plenty of seating and there's also a lot of grab and go options as well.“
“Another great dinner at Schlesinger's. We had the caramel pecan brie as an appetizer. The wife had an 8 oz filet and I had the boneless ribeye. We shared a side of creamed spinach. Everything was cooked as requested and was excellent! A great place to go for a special occasion or just a fine dining experience!“
“Nice little local Italian place. Their red sauce is a tiny bit too acidic for me but still mighty tasty. I highly recommend the Trietto Alla Vodka. Besides that, I typically get the baked ziti, Melanzane Ripiene, chicken Parmigiana, lasagna, or chicken sorentino (when they have it).“
“Had a great wine tasting experience here today! Brandon, the owner, was so much fun, and you can tell he is passionate about what he does. It was interesting learning about how these wines are made since they are different from your typical winery. Everything was so good that it was hard to pick just a few to purchase at the end. Don’t be hesitant to try them if you are a dry wine fan - I usually drink dry wines because I find most sweet wines too syrupy sweet, but these were delightfully fruit forward and sweet from the infused fruits. You can’t find something like this in the grocery store. I’ll definitely be back to purchase more!“
“We absolutely love summerwind! We went on a rainy day and still had a great experience. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable on their different wines. Our favorite was their sangria that they home make using different fruits each week. The environment is great and we would love to go on a sunny day - they have outdoor picnic tables and cornhole. We also got a bread board which isn't pictured but was great!“
“This is the best place in town if you enjoy a drink and great conversation. The food is fantastic, especially the brick-oven pizza, and the staff are wonderful. The restaurant is owned and operated by a great group of people as well. Whether you're looking for great food, a nice cocktail, or a relaxing cigar, Red Point is the place for you.“
“I ordered 15 pizzas for take out. When I went to pick them up, I was greeted by friendly employees who treated me like I was their family. True Italian hospitality. Excellent customer service and tasty pizza! I rarely leave any reviews, but I had to for this restaurant.“
“So, so, so good!! Definitely a hidden gem in the heart of Newport News, VA. I'm vegan and they always have special fridges whipped up in the back for me when I eat there. The drinks are divine and the personable, attentive service is top notch. Just make sure you have a reservation and make it in advance if you want to dine here, you won't be disappointed!!“
