“I was looking for someone to make a butterscotch pie for my father-in-law for his birthday. It's something his mother would always do, but sadly she passed away this year. The idea came to me basically last minute, and I had about a week or so to search around and see if it would even be possible. I reached out to Micá and she responded within a day saying she would love to! Besides her being so sweet and accommodating on such short notice, she even delivered the pie to me! “Sunday happy hours 5-6pm for selected desserts at the counter! The waiter was sweet to recommend us to switch from the original to the chocolate croissant. We also bought an almond blueberry scone with a slice of sugar powdered brownie. They're delicious, it's just that the scone didn't fit my taste as much.Highly recommend some of the pins there with funny taglines (Eat the Rich, anybody?) and nice old time cartoon stickers for $3. It's a nice little shop at Carytown, don't miss it for afternoon tea.“

“About a 3.5: This cute Argentinian bakery serves up some daily-baked pastries. We came here when they had opened, but I think that they were having a slight delay with getting their items out of the oven. I ordered a variety box of: +a Vigilante - with cream, guava, and coconut +a beef empanada +a chicken empanada +a ham, cheese, and pineapple pastry +a Square with sliced green apples I did order a Guava croissant, but didn't receive it in the box; not sure if they charged me for it, since I didn't ask for one (user error!). I also noticed that we didn't receive any sauces (ie, chimichurri) for the empanadas. Not sure if I caught them off-guard or something! The pastries themselves tasted fresh and not too sweet, and I feel like the best time to go is when they're open first thing in the morning; I also feel that their items do sell out quickly.
