“This location in particular is my daily stop….every single day. Today we were not having the best morning and we were in a bind to get our morning fix, which was ready and waiting for us. Car trouble stopped us in our tracks. The staff here went way above and beyond! They do everyday but today was the was the exception of just how amazing these folks are. Thank you thank thank you to all of you…. ❤️“
“5 stars for service today ??. Mr. Mac was extremely professional and handled our previous order issues flawlessly. He was very sorry for our inconvenience, had a good listening ear & happily took care of our order today. Mac deserves a raise for his professionalism & customer retention ?. Sugar shack absolutely won our hearts by having such an amazing manager ?.“
“The owners are super nice and accommodating, they explain each dish in detail. The food is made to order and super fresh, and came out fast. The food is absolutely amazing, will definitely be back when I’m in the area. The dining area is extremely clean and spacious!“
“Sunday happy hours 5-6pm for selected desserts at the counter! The waiter was sweet to recommend us to switch from the original to the chocolate croissant. We also bought an almond blueberry scone with a slice of sugar powdered brownie. They're delicious, it's just that the scone didn't fit my taste as much.Highly recommend some of the pins there with funny taglines (Eat the Rich, anybody?) and nice old time cartoon stickers for $3. It's a nice little shop at Carytown, don't miss it for afternoon tea.“
“First time ordering. We have the cheese steak, potato salad, cheese cake, and red velvet cake. My wife picked everything up and said the peyote were super nice. The cheese steak was fantastic. Not the run of the mill seasoning. It was just loaded with awesome flavor. Potato salad was good, nothing to compare to how amazing the flavoring on the meat was but still good. The cakes were really good. Red velvet was just what you want. It was very tasty and not sickeningly sweet. Cheese cake was really good. My father was a baker, and I'm a bit of a cheese cake snob, and this was really good (would get again and again) like the other cake, it was not overly sweet, perfect texture, which is tough to do. Let's go back to the cheese steak, get it, and go get it asap. It is just great. Overall, nothing to fault everything was really great. We will be regulars for sure“
“What a treasure! The food is tremendously fresh and tasty. We look forward to using the event space in the back of the restaurant soon for an executive board meeting. The staff are super friendly and I’m grateful to be able to have lunch quickly made while on my break, while having time to enjoy it as well!“
“First let me say that I lived in Europe for two years and have had quite a few amazing croissants...but nothing like this place. The chocolate almond croissant from Sub Rosa is the best one I've ever had..period. Also, the ham and cheese croissant and the tart was incredible. We heard about how fast they sell out so we ordered a few days ahead of our trip. I'd recommend doing the same if you want to guarantee you'll get what you want. Seriously, if you find yourself down here, plan to make a stop, you will not be disappointed.“
“First time here, had a doc appt nearby. Stopped in and it made me a tad late but PHEW was it worth it! The latte syrups are phenomenal and the service was 10/10. I could tell they were very busy but someone brought me a little plate of watermelon with a smile while I waited. So sweet! Def try the cheese grits!!“
“An absolutely delightful coffee shop. From delicious array of breakfast items like biscuits, bagels, and wraps to their wonderfully creative lunch options, easily makes it one of the best places in Northside. Oh, and the coffee? Fantastic blend and variety. Let's not forget the employees! They are the nicest and coolest bunch of folks you would ever hope to see working in a coffee shop. A+ joint with a groovy atmosphere and makes you want to settle in for a while and enjoy your cuppa.“
“SO many great flavors to choose from; roasted strawberry will spoil you on regular strawberry ice cream forever! The cannoli ice cream(with mini cannoli shell) was excellent. My daughter always gets a sweet little macaron on top of whatever she chooses. It’s such a great spot to grab a great scoop (or two!) of ice cream.“
“I am always happy to support local business, especially women-owned ones, and this one is no exception! As you enter, you are greeted with the most cheerful and positive greeting and it just shows how much everyone enjoys working there. There are many drink and food options all of which are very affordable. I was especially happy about the many vegetarian and vegan options. This place is a whole vibe and I can’t wait to come back and try other items on the menu.Dietary restrictions: Vegan options“
“Love the atmosphere of this coffee roaster. The old brick building has been beautifully redone. The seating areas and cozy and welcoming for hanging out or sitting quietly for work or reading.I had a lavender oat milk latte. The lavender was not a syrup, just the flavor of lavender, which was so delicious! Way too many places go so sweet and it takes over the flavor, but this was so perfect!“
“My niece and I first stopped by Bell Greek for lunch while in town visiting my mom in the hospital. We were treated very well. The following week we were in need of a last minute catering for my mom’s service and we immediately thought of Bell Greek. They were able to fulfill our order with a quick turnaround. They delivered our food on time to the church and set up everything for us. Everyone raved about the food. It was absolutely delicious. Next time we’re in VA, we’ll definitely be making a stop in again.“
“Ok . I am a New Yorker. It is in my blood - we think we know more about pizza than anyone. An unbearable burden to carry.:) None the less my wife and I made our way to pizza bones . Very nice local neighborhood spot has kind of an outdoor theme however you can down inside but it’s limited. Staff is super friendly. Placed an order for garlic bread and a pizza for my wife and I to share half pepperoni service recently, considering the only two people on shift first let me say that cheesy bread were extremely good garlic, super cheesy crust very tasty. The pizza was excellent love the crust fresh tomatoes, Gucci gooey cheese. I think this pizza is better than Xorge or Cary Street and that’s a hard crowd to beat you go $14 for a midsize prize not a bad price serves to make sure you get the cheesy bread.“
“The service is top notch at FP. I got to taste three different types of iced black teas because the staff want to make sure I pick my favorite. I also got an apple turnover that tasted quite good. Despite the store being a little pricey, it has charging outlets available on the wall. So many people brought their laptops to chill and work here. It also has a free public restroom that's comfortable and very clean. Highly recommend working here, I'd definitely come back here if I'm around the area.I hope the staff can be more proactive to shut the doors because it was really windy that day, and it became chilly indoors.“
“My little sister took me here while I was visiting her for a day. I tried the Gold Rush, and it was undoubtedly one of the best ice creams I've ever had. We bought two pints for the road. I had a chance to talk to Westray as well; he was very kind and patient answering all our questions. I would highly recommend if anyone is in Richmond.“
“We were passing through and saw chewys had a 4.6/5 star review on Google. Our expectations were high going into our meal and they were surpassed. I got the breakfast sammy with bacon jam on an everything bagel and they knocked it out of the park. Sweet, salty, warm, chewy. 5/5 and well deserved. This was a great way to kick off our 10 hour drive. Thanks and we will be back someday!“
“I was passing through Richmond and decided to stop in for breakfast. I got the daily special biscuit which was the cheddar biscuit with chicken and bacon. Everything was fresh and delicious. Price was okay and the service was good. No complaints here.“
“A delightful coffee shop in the West End. I came once many years ago and it's only gotten better. I'm not a coffee drinker so I actually got a hot chocolate, but they have lots of espresso flavors and it's clear they take coffee very seriously. I did get an apple turnover, which was delicious! Perfectly flaky and full of apple filling. There's lots of indoor and outdoor seating for the space, and it's clear that they have some very loyal regulars. Overall it's a very cozy space, and I'm excited to come back and try some more things from the menu next time!Parking: There's a good amount of parking here that's shared with the other businesses in this shopping center.“
“I consider myself a croissant snob. I love to try new bakeries all the time so I can try their croissants. The croissants from this place were some of the best I’ve ever had. There was quite a line to wait in but I’d say it was worth it. They also have coffee which I think is another big draw to this place.“
“I am so so picky about coffee, and this is one of my all time favorites…definitely the best coffee in Richmond by FAR imo. Coffee is just deep and rich and so good! Atmosphere is clean and bright and staff is friendly and talented. We keep coming back !“
“Review based on DoorDash delivery Corned Beef Hash Sammie: Corned Beef, Cheddar Cheese, Egg, Hash Browns, Lou's Special Sauce, on a soft roll 5 for $12.65 Original Breakfast Sandwich: Bacon, Ham with Egg, American Cheese, Hash Browns, Lou's Special Sauce, on Dutch crunch bread“
“I used to come here almost every day while I was at VCU and lived down the street. It was one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. I just went back for the first time in 15 years (after moving away from RVA). It's so nice to see that this lovely place is still here.I don't normally notice much difference in drip coffee (it's either good or bad... strong or weak basically) but the one they serve there is noticeably excellent and some of the best I've ever had.The prices are super reasonable. Stefa and Katherine served me and my friend. They were friendly, helpful and patient.Really nice to meet the owner, Quillin. I hope she's proud of her much deserved (and hopefully continued) success and contribution to local culture.Great vibe, kind people, cool art, good music, interesting stuff to read... places like this make Richmond the city it is.:)“
“The MoM gets 5 stars. Got a great tutorial from Victoria of Column 15 Coffee on their wares. Tried the cold brew with a frozen coffee bomb in the middle. Heavenly! We gorged on a Hanover tomato and meatball Polpetti pocket sammich. Fresh and delicious! Will be back after 4 pm to try Auntie Ning’s Filipino food and Take and Bake options. They have not officially opened, but they are already one of my favorites in the neighborhood.“
“Maybe kind of a generic college town coffee house, but when the formula works don't change it. I loved the mid 2000s coffee house feel, the solid but delicious beverage options, and the communal tables. What I didn't like was the service, which was slow despite there being not a lot of business. Not gonna say don't go, I'm assuming the barrista was just distracted that day.“
“This place was recommended by our AirB&B host and it was so good we will be going back before we leave! Between the coffee, food, juice and the atmosphere this place has 12/10 vibes, I tried the Black is Beautiful juice, croissant sandwich, and the breakfast burrito!“
“I LOVE this place, however, not just because of the coffee (try the lavender iced chai! My Favorite! It’s almost dangerous…!) The service is amazing and it’s always clean. I can’t the same for some places in Richmond…The employees are always so attentive and friendly! The barista that helps me most often is this dark haired girl with glasses. She’s so sweet and hardworking. And always makes my drink the best. I almost only go there just see her, she’s that great! Thanks, Krim!“
“I have been coming to this boba tea spot for over 17 years since before boba even became popular! The owner is the person thats actually making the drinks. Many flavors to choose from and its consistently good. I've tried all the boba spots in Richmond and this is by far the best one!Dietary restrictions: Lots of dairy-free milk options!“
“Great local, neighborhood café with cozy atmosphere, warm service, and even cozier food. Try a meat, egg, and cheese bagel—my favorite is chorizo; it comes as a layer of spicy sausage crumble. The coffee & espresso are great, and the café is always clean. Excellent place to bring family, friends, and/or coworkers.“
“I’d share a photo of the Italian beef I got, but I ate it too fast. Slow, SLOOOW cooked beef with giardiniera piled on a hearty sesame bread. I’m going to be thinking about that one for a while. It might cost more than you think a sandwich should cost (if you’re older like me), but the moment you start to eat it, you’ll know you got a deal. Plus it comes with chips. Better than fair.“
“the tea selection is great, and the food is super tasty. we had the chocolate crepe, and it was divine. I believe they use a dark chocolate, making the crepe not sickeningly sweet. perfect. I took mine to go, but the atmosphere is super cute and good for quaint tea with friends or quiet time alone.“
“Love this place! Exceptional service and wonderful- affordable- sandwiches and coffee. I’ve always tried to shop within my downtown neighborhood and prefer this to the big chain coffee shops. It makes my morning when I’m able to make it by before work. Thank you!“
“Grant Coffee Company provided me with an unparalleled experience, blending exceptional service, thoughtful amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere. From the moment I stepped in, Trey, the owner, greeted me with genuine warmth, making me feel right at home. The presence of changing tables in the bathrooms was a testament to his commitment to inclusivity. Moreover, the cozy seating arrangements and relaxed ambiance made it an ideal spot for remote work, offering the perfect blend of comfort and productivity. Grant Coffee Company truly stands out as a gem in the coffee scene, earning my highest recommendation.“
“Love this place! Been coming here for about 15 years. High quality teas, friendly staff, and I like that they write out detailed steeping instructions for each tea. I don't live in the area anymore but they will ship to me for a very cheap, haven't been able to find another place like it anywhere.“
“Shop here atleast 4—5 days a week... At first it seems to be a bit on the expensive side, but definitely not quite as expensive as Publix but just a tad cheaper. But I soon realized there are a few items underpriced, therefore it became understood the the prices are only costly where absolutely necessary for a small business to succeed in the given circumstances ( area and economy) so if you can I'd advise to please support whenever your in the area if you can ‼️⚠️❕❗“
“Popped in to get a bag of Blanchard's whole beans that was gifted to me run through a grinder. The staff was busy but were able to graciously take care of my request. I was in and out with freshly ground beans plus a hot cup of coffee in under 10 minutes, which on a busy Friday morning is totally reasonable.Parking: Parking is a little tight and tricky to navigate when it's a busy morning.“
“We had a delicious first visit to McLean's.The food was very good overall and timing was very acceptable. My wife expressed that the cheesy grits needed a little more flavor. Our server, I believe her name was Sarah, was very good and attentive. Stopped at the table just often enough to make sure we were good. Will come back if we are in the area again.Parking is in the back near the entrance.“
“I’m so happy to have Sefton a block away from my office! Aways incredible service, consistently amazing coffee, and fantastic pastries. The random surprises, whether a flower, penguin, or fortune cookie with the coffee, are always an added treat.“
“The convenience of the location is extremely important to me as I live in Jackson ward. The only thing I can say is be prepared to wait a bit. Not their fault, they're super popular but you aren't popping in for just a quick coffee unless you drink it black. Also, somehow my price is always high but that's on me for always wanting their mozzarella pesto sandwich with my specialty coffee!“
“WPA knocked our birthday cake out of the park. We had to accommodate dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free and gluten-free dietary restrictions and not only was the cake INCREDIBLE, but the service was so good. I emailed my inquiry and got a response quickly. I had a change the week of my order and it was accommodated with a smile. Our birthday girl, who had the dietary restrictions, could not believe that she could really eat the cake. We had one guest day he thought the WPA cake was better than the other one we had that was the same flavor but had gluten, dairy, egg and soy.WPA will now be our go-to bakery. Thank you!I can’t thank WPA Bakery enough for making our birthday cake surprise a huge hit. Thank you!!!!“
“This place has been on my bucket list of places to try for what feels like forever. I'm happy to report it was worth the wait. Lamplighter is busy street corner with a tiny little parking lot in front. They have a separate entrance for you to place your order. When you place your order they ask for your name no additional order number is given. This proved to be a little confusing as there were two Jason's at the same time and they received the wrong drink. I ordered an iced lavender latte, breakfast burrito and a sweet potato muffin. Everything was really good. The breakfast burrito tasted homemade and was accompanied by a fresh salsa that was great. I will flag that this cafe is Vegan friendly as they have several vegan/ vegetarian options on the menu. Overall I really enjoyed my coffee and food and look forward to trying this place out in the future!“
“This is our favorite sweet treat. (Lombardy location) I haven't found any other donut shop with a variety of vegan options. My child has food allergies to eggs and nuts. The employees even placed the vegan donuts in a separate bag/box to prevent cross-contamination. Kudos for the service and the best tasting treats.Vegetarian options: A row of different types of donuts labeled vegan“
“This place is unassuming, but as far as to-go breakfast is concerned, it is much better than I expected. I had probably the best breakfast burrito I have ever had anywhere (I added tomato and avocado to it), the breakfast sandwich on a bagel was pretty good, as was the thai coffee and the latte. One thing was outstanding (the burrito) and the rest were just slightly above average. The online ordering system was convenient as well.“
“Small restaurant attached to our hotel (Linden Row Inn). Perfect for late dinner after check in. Excellent service, good cocktails and the food was good as well. Husband loved his Fish and Chips. Two guests had the Smash-burger and said it was a bit dry. Could have used a special sauce. I had the autumn salad with shrimp. It hit the spot. Appetizers were excellent - fried oysters and green tomatoes were great.“
“The veggie and the lox and cream cheese sandwiches will keep us coming back again and again. Although from the constant takeout traffic, there are surely many other delicious offerings. Oh, and the coffee is good too! And the service with a smile and a good word goes a long way too.“
“We visited tonight as we recently discovered how relaxed and inviting Stony Point is. We enjoyed a charcuterie board and drinks and especially the friendly staff. As our dog was watching from the door, they offered to deliver our food outside, then went back for a carafe of water for us. Delicious food and outstanding service, next time we’ll be trying the cheesecake and coffees too.“
“There is street parking around. It's pretty big inside. The display is good. The people who work there have been wonderful. It has been a relaxing spot for me for years.Parking: There is street parkingKid-friendliness: My children loved the cake pops and MadeleineWheelchair accessibility: It's easy to get in as long as someone is holding the door“
“Got a M iced Stormsbrew + pimento egg tart for a little over $10—I used to be a Starbucks frequenter, so I wasn't surprised by the price. But the quality was much higher than a chain store, that's for sure! Both items were really good (though I wish my egg tart had been heated up for longer!). Will definitely be back here when I'm in the area!“
“Check the hours before heading over. The shop has free 3 hr street parking outside if you get lucky. The side has a ramp into the shop. We didn't see much of the bakery today, but the ice cream satisfied two kiddies and a grown up(espresso Oreo). There is a restroom for customers only. Quite a few shops on this street didn't have restrooms. The waffle cones are the familiar brand of "Joy". The shop has many seats and tables inside. The view is Byrd Theatre and the cool shop Bygones. I could imagine myself spending a couple of hours enjoying desserts, coffee, bakery,... here.Parking: Free 3 hr street parking if you are luckyKid-friendliness: Kid's size ice creamMy kids love themWheelchair accessibility: The side of the shop has an outdoor ramp up into its side door.“
“About a 3.5: This cute Argentinian bakery serves up some daily-baked pastries. We came here when they had opened, but I think that they were having a slight delay with getting their items out of the oven. I ordered a variety box of: +a Vigilante - with cream, guava, and coconut +a beef empanada +a chicken empanada +a ham, cheese, and pineapple pastry +a Square with sliced green apples I did order a Guava croissant, but didn't receive it in the box; not sure if they charged me for it, since I didn't ask for one (user error!). I also noticed that we didn't receive any sauces (ie, chimichurri) for the empanadas. Not sure if I caught them off-guard or something! The pastries themselves tasted fresh and not too sweet, and I feel like the best time to go is when they're open first thing in the morning; I also feel that their items do sell out quickly. Staff were super friendly, welcoming, and kind. There were plenty of seating inside, and ample parking in this strip plaza lot. +missing items T___T +friendly service! +plenty of parking“
