“Like a favorite comforter, your favorite pair of boots, the mail, Horseshoe Curve delivers. Best cheeseburger, best onion rings, best batch of locals and the best bartender in the area. Plus the music and artist are amazing. Stumbled in the day after thanksgiving and thoroughly enjoyed an impromptu all star blues jam. It was amazing. Don't miss the Curve!“

“What a nice "discovery" this place was for us. Riding our motorcycles back home after visiting Western Maryland and WV, we decided to stop for lunch here. Food was abundant, fresh, and tasty. We all had the country fried steak breakfast platter. Cannot go wrong with it.Another pleasant surprise was the coffee. Best cup of coffee I've ever had at a diner. We kept asking for "more coffee, please"!Another special note about our server, Allison, she was friendly, professional and very attentive. Will definitely come back when I'm the Marshall area.“

“New and happening place in Marshall VA located on Main Street. I like the cozy feel of small town and food is to die for. First time there I sat at the bar and delighted on a Devils Backbone and Salmon- moist, not overcooked, seasoned, and filling. Second time a friend and I waited in the parking lot until it opened at 11. We were not disappointed! Clam chowder reminded me of Chesapeake Bay Seafood House! Clams were not chewy, base tasted like a touch of New England on the shore. Amazing! Then the third time, we had the NY strip steak - prepared to perfection!! The flavor and so tender that you could cut it with a fork. Wings were marinated with the flavor instead of cooked with sauce poured over it. Chef is absolutely amazing. Drinks are cold, food is prepared perfectly and served hot. The restaurant and bathrooms are clean. Staff is very personable and friendly. The owner walked around and introduced himself. Very down to earth people! It’s a must visit for yourself!Parking: Parking in the front, sides, and back of the restaurant. They are lined spaces so no chaos. You can also park on Main Street.Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcomed. The restaurant has booths and high chairs for the little ones to sit in. Music is fantastic and the staff is very friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: When dining a gentleman wheeled in and was able to comfortably sit at a table while his friend set in the booth.“

“Old fashioned hearty comfort food cooking. Much like delicious Southern cooking in the 1950s. Very good! Portions are large; for example, breakfast is an all-day breakfast! Their recent re-opening enabled their refocus on a basic, down-to-earth, but still very good, all American menu. Portions are still generous. The location is very pleasant, up on the mountain in Pine Grove village, along old Rt. 7 (the two-lane road traveled between Alexandria and Winchester before construction of the modern four-lane). Family friendly. Service was attentive and responsive. Pricing easily affordable, low to medium. There is plenty of parking right out front. Recommended!“

“While making our trek from NYC back to SC saw this place on list of food stops along the freeway. So glad we gave it a shot. I opted for the special burger cooked medium with jalapeños and pepper jack, lettuce and tomato. Tasted like a Whopper, but juicy, with some heat. Went with onion rings and washed it all down with a Coke. Burger was one of the best I can remember and rings were on point as well. Service was friendly and competent. Felt like a cafe should.“

“Our first visit to Field and Main for my birthday 02/2024 was exceptional. We had made reservations well ahead of time, and were seated in the open kitchen area that was very interesting to watch. The head chef was the expediter, and all chefs called out the dish after he called it to them. A well oiled run machine that kitchen is!Kyle, our server was friendly, prompt and chatted with us about some wines. The Oomami smash burger was delicious, and the bread board was surprisingly rich and light with the truffle ricotta. Our main course of scallops in a parsnip puree and the buccatini pasta in a carrot sauce were to die for. Rich, elegant and warming. Now I want to attempt to make a carrot sauce! We will certainly return for future dinners, and can't wait to sit outside once the weather warms. Thank you Field and Main for a birthday dinner to remember.“

“Our attentive and accommodating server and excellent food (the pretzel-crusted chicken with Dijon sauce and vegetables was fantastic) made for an enjoyable experience. The only downside is that, despite the "non-smoking" dining room, we left smelling like cigarettes, probably from smokers in the tavern. Improved HVAC design would probably fix that. My solution will be to visit during mild weather and take advantage of the outdoor seating. We will definitely be back!“

“Visited for the first time yesterday with my husband and I loved it! We had both the bread board and cheese board for appetizers, enjoyed our entrees and split a dessert. The food was good, the atmosphere and service were incredible, and I felt like it was in total a unique dining experience.Highly recommended, especially if you're looking to try something a little different, small-scale and local ❤️“

“The food is fresh and delicious. The Brussel Sprouts is great as is the fish and chips. Ask for sweet potatoes fries which is an option instead of French fries. The Cobb salad with salmon is fantastic as are the chicken pot pie and chicken piccata. Service is friendly and attentive. Cozy pub atmosphere is wonderful especially if you sit near the fireplace. Ask for the Pub Bread..it's worth the carbs! A great place to gather.“

“The restaurant had a dark and romantic yet friendly and comforting atmosphere. We looked over the tasting menu and chose mostly different dishes from the options provided. We both ordered the lamb, which I found to be impeccable, and the wine pairings were thoughtful and tasty. The seafood was spectacular, but I felt the duck was a little undercooked. The port wine paired with dessert was spectacular, but the desserts themselves left much to be desired. Perhaps I'm not a fan of the deconstructed style. The staff was kind and considerate, allowing us to finish our dishes without rushing us. I was impressed by the unique features of the restaurant, such as being built in the basement and having reserved seating for special guests, with their names plated above certain seats.“
