The Chef's Tasting Menu was amazing. Wonderful wine pairings explained by the Sommelier. Lovely litte B&B nestled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley area. The restaurant is part of the Inn. Very horse country centric.

The restaurant had a dark and romantic yet friendly and comforting atmosphere. We looked over the tasting menu and chose mostly different dishes from the options provided. We both ordered the lamb, which I found to be impeccable, and the wine pairings were thoughtful and tasty. The seafood was spectacular, but I felt the duck was a little undercooked. The port wine paired with dessert was spectacular, but the desserts themselves left much to be desired. Perhaps I'm not a fan of the deconstructed style. The staff was kind and considerate, allowing us to finish our dishes without rushing us. I was impressed by the unique features of the restaurant, such as being built in the basement and having reserved seating for special guests, with their names plated above certain seats.

The food, ambiance and overall feel of the restaurant gave me very similar vibes to The Inn at Little Washington. However, the experience was dampened by the fact that when my family and I stumbled upon this place after settling into our new home in Paris VA. We came in from the back patio entrance where we were met with a waitress who told us to “look at the cost of the menu items” prior to seating us. We told her we did not need to see the cost , it was lunch time, we were hungry , and we wanted to eat. She walked away, came back, and later was told to seat us by a manager.Again, the food was delicious. Loved the styles of the rooms and the plaques that offered a very kind gesture to their “frequent flyers”. However, the service was less than desirable, I can see why they would want to imitate The Inn at Little Washington. Very rude to judge your patrons.

My husband surprised me with an anniversary weekend at the Ashby Inn and restaurant. We have always enjoyed our time at the Ashby as a services impeccable. The rooms are filled with amicable and necessary items, especially firewood for a romantic Cozy evening. The restaurant is tremendous, and the staff and service are equally knowledgeable and helpful. We even now have a nameplate being prepared for our table as we’ve sat at the same table for at least six visits now. The Ashby will not let you down, however, be prepared because it is an investment in this lovely gem of a place, and in Yourself.Rooms: My only suggestion in the rooms would be to have a Cozy, loveseat or small couch for cuddling. The individual chairs that flank the fireplace are lovely, but they do not enhance the romance.

My girlfriend and I did a dinner and overnight stay, and our experience was wonderful. The staff was very attentive, and we were greeted by David, the general manager. The Glascock room was perfect and came with a fireplace and view of the mountains. The dinner itself was tremendous, as were the wine and ambience in the restaurant.Highly recommend for one night or a weekend getaway. You won't be disappointed.

Delicious food!! Service lacking- finished my wine glass halfway through meal, waiter never asked if I wanted another drink and I couldn't get his attention. Also, when they brought my husband dessert, they never asked if we wanted a coffee or anything. Inattentive. also, beware!! We were surprised by the 6% food service charge added to our bill. overall, great food, but for the price and the service, we will not go back.

The atmosphere and surroundings are beautiful, I love historic places. The services has always been excellent. Both times I've been the duck confit is dry, I think they can do better for the price. Room rating N/A.

The dining experience can be summed up in the word, "Exquisite". The food was meticulously prepared and served, the tastes ranged from explosive and daring, to smooth and silky. From the appetizers to the cheese plate, the food was amazing. The wine collection was simply wonderful. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fine dining experience.

We were greeted with complementary champagne for our anniversary which was a very nice touch! Food & service were excellent. It is a beautiful locale although the background music was a little loud. Wine selection was excellent but the prices were a bit high. Regardless we'd highly recommend this restaurant!

Had an excellent meal with fantastic service. The Wild Mushroom Ravioli appetizer was exquisitely earthy in flavor with shaved black truffles on top of it. The Dover Sole main was perfectly prepared with a wonderful Broccolini accompaniment. Lastly, the dessert of Chocolate Mouse was a good mix of flavors with raspberries on it, which helped tame down the richness of the dark chocolate. All in all, excellence personified!

This was a very nice, quaint little hidden gem in Paris, VA. I would definitely visit this place again for another special occasion. May be a bit pricey, but I thought it was worth it.

My (now) fiancé and I got engaged at the Ashby Inn in February 2024! All of the staff made us and the experience feel so special. The chef's tasting menu dinner was the best meal either of us had ever had ... a really memorable lobster dish and duck entree in particular. We interacted most with the staff at the main office and in the restaurant, and everyone was incredibly warm, attentive, and helpful. Finally, the view from the room (we stayed in the Adams room) was incredible to wake up to ... we also were raving about the quality of the sheets and bath robes the whole time. We will definitely be coming back to celebrate anniversaries here, and we would recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway!
