“I've tried every Chinese in Roanoke. This one is by far the best in the area. Just about Everything's on point, and they don't use the same base sauce for everything and call it a different name. Only thing slightly lacking are the eggs rolls. Amazing crisp, but the content inside of them are all veges. Still 9.9/10. I drive 25 minutes one way just to pick up from here. ? Bravo!“
“We didn't realize it was a buffet until the host greeted us and told us only soups and salads were already out (it was 3:55, serving began at 4pm). I do like a good buffet, my wife, not so much. But we had driven from NC and missed lunch, so we were hungry, and the place was immaculate, and the host was very gracious. I will not bore you with a blow-by-blow. From the jumbo steamed shrimp, my wife's fresh green salad and delicious dressing to the coconut creme pie, everything we put in our mouths from the overwhelming selection was #1. Everything! Our server was polite, attentive, and gracious. We are thinking about making a day trip back to Roanoke for dinner at the Red Palace. Oh, and the icing on the cake: our bill for 2 was $34.33, tax included.“
“Listen everyone. China Star is by far the most amazing Chinese restaurant in Roanoke. I've tried everywhere basically. Food is always spot on. There is never a mishap and if there is the owner corrects it immediately. She is the nicest and sweetest person in business. She will learn you face and voice! Again the food is beyond excellent. Always hot and fresh. The best thing is she has her prices very reasonable. Family of 6 can eat for 30 bucks and have leftovers!!!!! I don't need to put pictures because it won't do the food justice!“
“Island jerk was closed but locked my keys in my truck so walked to here while i waited. Interesting dynamic communicating with them, make sure to read the paper menu and disregard the wall menu. Be clear when you order. They were extremely nice to me but witnessed another customer experience was kinda bad but in all fairness i think a lot of rough people wander in. Foods good, place is lil hole in the wall and run down. Sesame chicken was great.“
“Our first time, we were close by. We ordered & waited on our to go order, the dining area was comfortable & clean, not flashy. The food was fresh & delicious!!!! It heated well & was delicious for lunch as well. We'll definitely go back!“

Great people!Anytime we have family members come from Indy, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, you name it, they always love this place and always ask for it when they come (driving, flying - who wants to go out to eat anyways after traveling all day on the first day they come or dirty up the kitchen after cleaning up all day? Lol). They tell us all the time too all the Chinese takeouts around them where they’re at just suck, can’t compare, are disappointing, never taste that great, or they just have a bad experience and don’t go back.
