We loved the place and history and we loved the food. We also stayed in a Air B&B right next to the restaurant and we loved hearing the trains. We were happily surprised at that, but you dont hear the loud horns, just the rumbling of the train. It was actually very romantic and nostalgic.
The food was good but the service was below average. Took us almost 40 minutes to get our food and the place wasn’t busy at all. I know it’s most likely not the waitress’ fault so maybe they should get better kitchen staff— just a suggestion.
My wife and I stopped by Wall Street Tavern on a Saturday as we wandered around downtown Roanoke. We decided to stop in for a mid afternoon cocktail. Wall Street Tavern is a hole in the wall, small venue with the majority of its seating in the open air section. This visit was in the early spring and there was a large covering to protect from the cold. I imagine that is removed for the warmer months.
