“Was traveling and stopped in New Kent and did a search for best rated restaurants. Although a bit of a drive from where we were, absolutely worth it. My wife and I ate and had drinks at the bar. Excellent service, especially for bar seating for a meal. Bartender was friendly and talented at his craft. Food was among the very best restaurants I have eaten at across the country.“

“I ended up here because a place down the street was closed, boy did I luck into a great restaurant. The atmosphere is very casual and the overall noise level made it possible to have a conversation without raising your voice in the bar area. The food was prepared well and the Gouda grit cake was an unexpected treat.Would definitely go back when I'm in the area!“

“OMG, from the moment we arrived it was top notch service from beginning to end. We never had and empty glass or plate on the table and the food was mouth watering, fall off the bone delicious. You can tell that Tom and Rachel take pride and love what they do and it shows throughout the entire staff. If you haven't been here you are missing out on one of the hidden gems in Williamburg.“

“This is a busy spot. We had great food and fabulous service. Wish we had gotten the young lady's name because she was truly awesome. We had to add a guest at the last minute and the host was not as accommodating as I might have hoped. The restaurant wasn't too busy at an early lunchtime so not sure why he had to make an ugly face. The gazpacho and shrimp salad made up for the strange welcome and the freshly baked berry cobbler was an extraordinary way to finish.“

“One of the best seafood restaurants I’ve been to, in the whole United States! More than 20 dinners entrees on the menu plus 5-6 specials, to choose from. I ordered the scallops dinner (second to none!) and my friend tried the triggerfish from the specials list. Our appetizer (tuna bites- recommend!! ) was brought 3-4 min after we placed the order, while the dinner itself arrived within 6-7 minutes(!!! ?) and it was cooked to perfection! The decor is impressive (I loved the colorful jelly fish over the bar ) and the attention from the waiters will please the most demanding clients. Wonderful restaurant for any occasion!“

“Excellent food and service as always. We have never had a bad meal here, so thought it time to share. The raw oysters and the fried oyster toast were amazing. The Bibb lettuce with pickled asparagus, strawberries and goat cheese salad is 10/10. Their house burger didn't disappoint either. All the cocktails were excellent. Our server Bryan was friendly and did a great job as well, had perfect timing.“

“Was trying to do the survey on line, but it kept telling me it was down, so I'm just going to write a review. Went to Mellow Mushroom for the first time on April 12th and our server was Autumn. She was the best! She had the best personality, very knowledgeable with the menu and very attentive. We loved it so much we returned on April 14th and was very happy to have Autumn again. Thank you Autumn for making my first time a very positive experience. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely go back and hope to have Autumn again.“

“We loved this truly authentic Italian restaurant. I ordered the carbonara, which I am used to the "americanized" version. I was very pleasantly surprised to see it served with bucatinni! My husband ordered the NY strip dish, which had a beautiful crust and great flavor trapped inside. They have a large wine and drink menu, and available bar for those who prefer that seating. Our server was great and knowledgeable about the menu. Loved the atmosphere and vibes inside this gem. I would absolutely come back and recommend others to enjoy food here as well.“

“Exquisite local Italian food. Ingredients were so fresh. Had a great and lively environment. Our server, Chip, was amazing. Our drinks never went empty, our table was cleared promptly, and he was very pleasant. We ordered the mozzarella sticks to start, which we thought were just okay. We would have liked more seasoning on the breadcrumbs. The bread was cold. Salads were average. However, the entrees did not disappoint. The lemon butter chicken pasta was divine. Has just the right amount of lemon taste. The 4 cheese tortellini was delicious as well. The sauce was what made the dish so delicious. However, the chicken parm was the star of the show. Everything about it was perfection. Overall, we would come again. Portions were large enough to split and we were still stuffed. We will have to come back for dessert.“

“This is a really fun restaurant - great service, quick to make food. Everything we got was good. Can probably be substituted. Margaritas are big and very good; everything we ordered was delicious. One thing to note, nachos and a few other dishes like the rice con pollo come with a cheese sauce that may not be for everyone.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly atmosphere and accommodating staff!“

“We came to Francesco’s tonight not knowing what to expect and by the tone we walked out, we knew we’d be back! Vinny was a gracious server and made us feel extremely welcome. The handmade pastas were to die for! And my daughter really enjoyed the pizza. Whatever you do, don’t skip the excellent desserts.“

I had the Caesar salad, it was well seasoned and it was more than plenty. I personally think you can't go wrong with any off their dishes. I can't wait to go back.Wheelchair accessibility: All one level.“

“Wow! I have found the store that has all I have been looking for in great desert! I love ice cream and especially soft serve and I love fruit and chocolate. Also, I only go to establishments that put the customer first. This shop has it all, creamy high quality soft serve with all my favorite flavors including rich chocolate and fresh fruit choices! You can combine two flavors in a swirl and then go the to next spot you choose to continue to add the amount you desire into your cup. You have quite a number of toppings to choose from as well. They weigh the cup and charge you by weight. The focus is on the customer and on serving and supporting the community. Very pleasant staff and they know how it all works. The best of the best!“

“While visiting Williamsburg, Va, my husband and I initially tried going to the Colonial Pancake House. We saw a lot of people waiting outside, so we decided to go to Capitol Pancake House for breakfast. Was easy to find a parking spot close to the entrance. Immediately upon entering we were greeted by a friendly gentleman. We were also immediately sat. I ordered the catfish breakfast and my husband ordered a Grecian omelet with a side of peanut butter pancakes. The portions are big, enough to skip lunch. I have to say the catfish was cooked perfectly, probably the best tasting catfish I ever had. It was very crispy on the outside and soft inside. It was seasoned perfectly just the way I like it. I didn’t have any need to add any tartar or hot sauce. My husband said his meal was delicious. The server we had was friendly and offered additional options. The price is also good for the quality food and service. Only complaint was the large orange juice was $6. Will definitely come back again!“

“Donuts are great. You have to like big thick donuts though. Seating is sparse but not a bad thing. Cozy feel. Bathrooms are well kept. Overall solid breakfast sweets place. My only complaint is the price of a simple cup of coffee. Almost $4. A bit steep.“

“Food and service were both top notch. JJ was our server and he made us feel like we were his only customers. He was friendly, quick, thoughtful, and knowledgeable of the menu. He was able to make great recommendations when we were unsure of what to order. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the special barbacoa bowl, lemon ricotta pancakes, breakfast tacos, Belgian waffle, specialty drinks, and eggs and bacon. Everything was made to perfection. Before we left we were already making plans to go back again!“
“So very nice. We had a yelp free appetizer. Everything was yummy. Was not a huge fan of the meatballs but i think it was just not my thing.we had the Ham and cheese sticks...so yummy. Olives and bread , eggplants. the Wine was amazing but I will say my first glass had half as much as the second one. I would go back for sure though. A fun night out.Next time I may shop for some Spanish wine“

“Wife insisted on driving 30 minutes from Newport News for me to eat here, so here's my review. The cashier seemed a bit nervous, might have been new, (I hold NO shame here) but rather friendly and polite. According to the receipt he was server WW416.The price seemed a bit high for a sub shop. $51.33 for a super sub + large sub + fries + chips + 2 large drinks (though I did get the fun "souvenir" cups). Added on the standard 15% To Insure Prompt Service ? which apparently means nothing now days but I digress. Now begins the wait ?? with 4 sandwiches made ahead of mine. I got my fries 21 minutes after ordering (they were good, especially since they were simple salted crinkle fries) to which an employee asked if I was still waiting for my sandwich. Wife received her sandwich (Large double Turkey and cheese) 3 minutes later and I finally received my sandwich (Super Wicked) 4 minutes after that. So a lovely 28 minutes for 2 sandwich combos... ?Bare minimum communication with the staff regarding anything aside from just placing my order. What was I expecting...not sure really, just hungry and waiting. Now for the food... ???Wife says hers was good ? I think I spoiled her with my homemade bread the past 2 weeks. Mine on the other hand... Really good! Both had a hint of sourdough aroma (REALLY hope it's supposed to!) which was a nice twist. The meat combination was amazing combined with 3 cheese ? and the special Mt Dew flavor (Vibe) OMG that's good!Overall, I'd like to enjoy another but can't seem to justify driving 30 minutes to spend $50 on 2 sub meals when I have closer options near me. Sorry, but it is just my opinion. If Which Wich was closer.... I'd still have a hard time spending $50 for 2 meals and waiting half an hour. Thanks for the meal, experience, and taste, but sadly I can only recommend to try it, not to keep coming back. And love the twist to ordering. Pick a bag, mark want you want, hand it in to order. If my little one was with us, he would love to draw on a bag and post it on their community wall. Very cool for kids way to entertain the kids while waiting.“

“Great dinner at Blue Talon. Our meal was delicious - a number of starters which was perfect after our long day. Service was fine. They did everything right. Just not the hospitality that makes you feel like a welcomed guest. Definitely order the clam chowder, truffle fries, beef tartare, and cake dessert. Skip the oysters, they didn't have much flavor, though the relish/salad they were served with were quite good. Had a nice cocktail and a lovely bubbly rose.“

“Food was fresh, and favorable. My husband and I first Thai experience, I'm glad it was a good one. He absolutely loved his dish, and he is very, very hard to please, such a foodie. Service was great, the atmosphere was okay. I'm observant at small details. It's time for top to bottom dining room cleaning, especially starting at the top. Loved the flowers on the lights, nice touch.Vegetarian options: Most noodle dishes you add your protein to it, egg can be optional.Parking: Ample parking on the side of restaurant.Kid-friendliness: They love the kiddies, I didn't have any with me, but the couple at the next table did have children who were catered to.“

“Whimsical, charming, offbeat — as if Alice, the White Rabbit, and the Cheshire Cat got together to start up a cafe. Large selection of freshly-baked croissants, quiches, and other pastries complement a broad selection of coffee and bar beverages. Owners and staff are extremely friendly, making everyone feel like a regular. Comfy seating all around; each corner from the sunlit upstairs to the humorous restroom has plenty of character. Come for a relaxing visit.“

“I got the Caribbean chicken and shrimp, and it was delicious. It was served in a pineapple shell. The saffron rice was layered at the bottom and absorbed all of the flavors from the shrimp chicken peppers and onions. The dish had a good chicken to shrimp ratio, and both were well seasoned. The bread was ok, like my rolls not so heavy. The servers were attentive and kept my water glass filled.“

“Low-key place across from the William and Mary Campus that serves fantastic ramen of different styles. The restaurant was filled with students which was another indicator of how good the food is. “An unforgettable choice.Their Thom Ka soup is exquisite, way above what other Thai restaurants usually offer on average: fragrant, veggies, great taste. And the aroma of their papaya salad is unforgettable, the type of dish you will remember even10years later, a whole different animal compared to any papaya salad I have seen before. They really try to offer an original take for traditional Thai recipes, with fresh and high quality ingredients.Quaint little family restaurant, clean, nice space, with fast service, very nice people, discreet.Definitely a great choice.Parking: Plenty of parking space“

“Really nice interior. Service was good.Food was okay. The flavors here were nothing to call home about. Pad See Ew Beef and Pad Kapow Chicken have become my go-to dishes for comparing Thai restaurants and I have certainly had better of both dishes. I like that they used medium-width noodles here. Not a fan of the wide noodle. The flavors, however, simply were not that remarkable or complex. Pretty standard Thai fare. A high level of heat is also something I really look for in Thai food. The heat levels here seem foreboding since they max out at Thai Hot and then Crazy Hot. I ordered my Pad See Ew - Crazy Hot. It was far from Crazy Hot. More like a medium hot at best.“

“First restaurant I went to after a trip to Europe haha and what a perfect choice! Food portions are big and food is yummy :]Their tres leches isn't very good though— it tastes and has the texture of just a normal vanilla cake, which was a bummer“
“Absolutely lovely venue, stately and classy. The food was all excellent, service was very personal. Waiter addressed us by name. Only criticism was the amount of spirits in the martinis were so small that we needed to order a double which ended up costing about $40 per martini. Also, when you make a reservation, there is no information that the menu for outdoors is more pub like and different from the menu inside. Namely, you can't have regular meal outdoors, which was disappointing.“

“Saved by an Angel This started out to be a lost cause. After driving and walking around for 35-45 minutes (mostly due to Yelp directions) we were not in a great mood when we found the tavern door. We had just rolled into town and weren't in the mood for a dog chase. Once inside we immediately thought this was not the dining establishment we had thought. Scrambled around for a drink or dinner menu for longer than seemed appropriate, but we were finally welcomed and presented with the evening's offerings. Though tempted to walk out unserved, Angel made her way over to our table, and we got a pretty dandy lager. Soon after that we had our grilled chicken masala, which was very tasty. So our long episode ended up being a rewarding treat.“

“The food, drinks and service is always amazing!! Top notch, from the cashiers to the cooks to the bakers to the managers and everyone in between! My only complaint is the music is SOOOO loud at this location. I go to many different locations around the area and this location just has unbearably loud music. Every other location has much quieter music playing. Panera is many people’s favorite spots to get a meal, a coffee and study at, but the blaring music makes it really hard to want to come here to study :(But again, everything else is top notch! “Very good pizza! Was traveling through here since I had to make a haul tomorrow morning so I decided to stop in and grab a pizza and beer for myself. The pizza with Pepperoni will be fine, I just wouldn't recommend the Italian sausage on it as it detracts some of the flavor imo. The fried mozzarella sticks were alright, nothing too special.Server and hostess helped answer my questions very well and will definitely be visiting again when I make a haul back around this area again.“
