Restaurantji's Bainbridge Island guide: Where to find the ultimate Mexican flavors.
“It was a cute spot in the town. Very friendly service and very quick! We went in on Saturday at 4:30 and it wasn’t busy. The chips and salsa were great, the food was good & flavorful. No complaintsKid-friendliness: Very accommodating to multiple kids“
“We hired Miguelitos to cater an ~80 person party at our house the day before our wedding, and they did an outstanding job!! Miguel was so kind and communicative to us, and the staff who did the set up was efficient and super professional. Pick up was quick and easy. Most importantly, the food was SO good, reasonably priced, with incredibly generous portions for guests! We were happy to enjoy the leftovers from the event. We are very grateful to Miguel and his team for helping make our event a success!“
“We ventured to Bainbridge for lunch with friends and, despite some island-area power outages, the downtown core was powered up and running! I ordered a Cali burrito with beef. It wasn't overloaded and made for a yummy lunch entrée. I also liked the salsa; just enough spice/heat for my taste.“
“My original review from years ago was not great -- fajitas were greasy and the margaritas were too sweet. But after going back, I can say that San Carlos has become one of my favorites on the island. Good food and drink and wonderful people. What more could you ask?“
“Magnificent! Service was perfect for the occasion and our food was served faster than expected after ordering. Two of the dishes were swapped leading to a bit of confusion about who ordered what, but was quickly resolved. Broccolini was cooked well and seasoned nicely. The cauliflower looked fantastic but was very spicy, too much heat for my liking. Each steak had a slightly different flavor profile, with the Australian wagyu ribeye the least impressive of them (for $ value). Vacio had nice texture and a rich grilled/char flavor. Delmonico was an outstanding thick cut bursting with marbled flavor. They were a bit on the rarer side, but perfectly acceptable and much better than overdone. It's not a big dining area and felt cramped and noisy, bench seats not very comfortable, and tabletop space was completely filled with food for three people. This was a beautiful meal and I'm looking forward to coming back again soon for another thick juicy steak. Bravo!Dietary restrictions: Our server didn't inquire if anyone had restrictions, but was great about explaining ingredients“
“Upscale-yet-comfy-and-affordable oceanfront vibe. The green chili soup came with these delish little homemade masa sopes (like thickertirtilla pieces) for dipping. Lucious flan. Creative menu options, including jackfruit tacos for veg-heads like me. Incredibly sweet and hospitable folks.“
“Our family favorite.Good foods and quick service. We had multis, burrito, and a cup of horchata for about a little over $30.There are 2 big tables with a roof and heaters. We visit this place before a little walk at Lincoln Park for our appetite.“
“Check my last name. This is genuinely one of the better Mexican restaurants in Seattle. The tortillas involved in all foods--the chips, the tacos, the enchiladas--were amazing. The tacos were especially delicious with juicy and tender meat. The enchiladas con mole was good too but I wish I had only gotten tacos cause those were fantastic. The octopus was tasty but because of how fried it was, was pretty oily. This place is pricey but the food was delicious.“
“So there are a couple of decent places to grab Mexican food in Bremerton, but I think this has become my new favorite. The food was amazing and put me in the mind of tacos from Southern CA. I ordered the Tour of Mexico, the Pork Belly appetizer, and their Jamaica. The tacos are packed with food and, thank the gods, they seasoned the meat. A lot of places up her tend to cut back on seasoning because of the more bland palate of people up here but I'm so glad they did not. I tried all 4 tacos but I couldn't finish but maybe 2 & 1/2 because I got full. The pork belly was crispy on the outside and most on the inside, BUT this was seasoned far lighter than I would have liked. Luckily, I only tried 2 pieces because later I tossed the pieces in some Sazon, pepper, dill, etc. and air fried them to Temp and was so good with the rice and beans & some pickled onions. Their Jamaica is mixed with mango and is so refreshing. The people were all very friendly. I'm just pissed Google wasn't showing them until recently when they've been open since Sept. Imo, I prefer them over Cazadores and El Balcon.“
“After hearing a myriad reviews, and walking by this place a few times - we had to give it a try. The place is small, but we didn't have to wait long for seats. Chips & salsa quickly brought out. Ordered a couple of Margaritas, took ~15+ mins to get those. Our chips & salsa were replenished and orders taken.Chile relleno & tacos ordered came pretty quickly. If they had gotten the marg order out quickly, probably would have ordered another round. We had Cadillacs ($16)...a little pricey, but strong. Pick up the service, and this place would get great marks.“
“One of our Go-tos in Bremerton! Always fast and affordable. And delicious of course! We usually get enchiladas and Fajita Quesadillas. Also, you can't forget the queso with the chips!Update: Two of us just came for lunch and split the Fajita Quesadillas and queso. We still couldn't finish the quesadillas as we were so full. $33 after tip for 2 isn't bad at all.Parking: They share a parking area with Dominoes and can be a hit or miss during dinner rush, but there's always at least one spot when we go.“
“Best local taco stand, their specials are always fire ? Get the chips, their salsa is authentic and the bean dip is worth asking for! Best servers in town, so kind to everyone and they are so patient and helpful about letting me practice my Spanish while ordering. Literally worth going regularly, I love this place for eating in or to go.“
“This is one of the best, authentic (as close as you can get) Mexican food. We have been going here for breakfast off and on for years. Always very good and worth the trip from Bellevue.Parking: Sometimes not easy to find a spot. There is a paid garage across the street, but otherwise finding street parking, especially with the athletic club across the street can sometimes be a challenge.“
“Food truck. Really good food and stayed hot all the way to the Manchester State Park for a picnic with the kids and grandkids ?Vegetarian options: It's a taco truck so I suppose you can order anything without meat. It's really tasty.Parking: It's just off the road and has a layer of small rocks and looks nice, it's wheelchair accessible but I don't know how well a wheelchair would perform in the rocks. There's people in and out so I've never had a hard time finding somewhere to park. Quick service.Kid-friendliness: My grandson was super stoked to see they had Doritos and Jarrito sodas! They're very patient about changing mind when trying to decide which soda ect..lolWheelchair accessibility: It's a decent sized open parking lot with a Food truck at the back/center. Small eating area, with covered bench style picnic tables are to it's right, and at the end it the parking lot on the right side, there's a port-o-potty. Most people pull right up in front of the Food truck, and it's big enough of a place to find a spot that provides room to access the wheelchair side from a vehicle, depending on how you park. So leave yourself enough room, and park in an area where someone wouldn't block you. There's not clearly marked parking spots, but most people around here are going to be nice about it and not block access for you. You could even park in a way that is angled or however you need to to ensure access. Most people are in and out pretty quickly. The service is great and people are very nice. I'd say anyone would be able to maneuver around ok depending on level of wheelchair mobility, in this rocky parking lot. Having someone help push a wheelchair up to order and to the picnic area would be manageable in my opinion. The ground under the small layer of rocks is firm. My grandson kicked the rocks (we corrected that though no worries.. ?) and I could see that the surface was hard packed underneath. They also use a loudspeaker to call your name when your order is ready. We went at a busy traffic time and could hear them call our name over the noise and wind. Enjoy your food!!??“
“First off we were greeted immediately upon entering. They seated us and we had chips and salsa within 90 seconds. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was fun. They have music on Fridays and trivia on Saturdays. Sadly I was too full for dessert. Will definitely return soon.Vegetarian options: I remember seeing a section, but don't remember how many options. Maybe 7Parking: The parking lot goes around the building and has a huge lot.Kid-friendliness: A fun kid friendly atmosphere. They have a kids menu and crayons.Wheelchair accessibility: It is a slight uphill ramp into the restaurant and they have wide aisles“
“It was my place of choice for my birthday last night. As always the food was fantastic, the staff attentive and friendly, and Armando greeted us personally! We have been there many times and it is by far my most favorite Mexican restaurant!“
“Absolutely perfect. Been going here about twice a week for two years now. Taquitos and chimichanga are superb. Great food and greater staff. Much better food then at Puerto Vallarta, especially judging by the bean dip. Easily the second best restaurant in Port Orchard (China Sun has to be #1 though)“
“I love small hole in the wall places like this. I spent a very short time in this restaurant as I was just picking up a take out order. With that said you can feel the pride in this place. The atmosphere feels like someone achieving their dream. Which is just awesome. I ordered a Cali burrito and was surprised with how large it was. This is how a burrito should be. It is very rare that I cannot finish a burrito, but this place has done it. Fortunately I have some left overs now. As far as flavor goes everything tasted great and the flavors came together well. The meat had a nice char which is kind of rare in restaurants around here. I look forward to coming back here. Highly recommend.“
“I work nearby so come here frequently. I'm disappointed with the recent price and portion changes (up and down respectively), but I've never had a bad meal here so I'll continue to support them. Highly recommend the pupusas and carnitas in anything!“
“It was the biggest burrito I've ever seen! 2 of us ate 3/4 of it. The leftovers were even delicious!!! They have great chips but the salsa is REALLY hot! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Good place for a quick bite or to grab it to go!“
“It’s a great place! The food is so yummy even though the flavor is still a little different from what I had in Oaxaca, Mexico.Recommend to try the pozole, it’s so good! And they are generous, they give a lot of pork and hominy in the soup. Their tacos are the best!! Definitely try the Taco Al Pastor! ? Delicious!Their lunch menu and dinner menu are different. I’d love to try their lunch menu someday~“
“We always get takeout, so I can’t speak to the dine-in experience, but this is the best “Mexican” food for miles. It does have the standard Tex-Mex fare, and let’s face it, it’s hard to stand out with your super nachos, but I highly recommend the El Salvadorian side of the menu. If I’ve never heard of something on the menu, I’m well served to try it, because it’s all been amazing so far. I haven’t been disappointed once, and I keep trying new things. It appears to be a family-run business, and there will often be groups of family, friends, or other Latinos eating there, which to me shows it’s the real deal and not just a menu designed for Americans.Basically, it’s real ethnic food, which is not something you can usually get at a “Mexican” place.Go there.“
“Oh my goodness… When you walk in the front door, there is a person making tortillas… The chips and salsa are delicious and every menu item we have tried has been delicious as well. I have seen a couple bad reviews and I am thinking it really must’ve been an off day because I have now been there a number of times and feel that everything has been more delicious than any of the other nearby Mexican restaurants.“
“The Good News: service is prompt and attentive. Plenty of available parking. Food is excellent. The Bad News: while the bottled Mexican beer is fine the sangia/cocktails ? are watery. If they could fix this problem, it would be a 5 ? place.“
“Carnitas and goat tacos were quite tasty, moist and melted in your mouth.Hot sauce was maybe a 4/10 (not really spicy at all), but flavor is good for both the red “hot” and green mild. Guacamole also very very mild. Good, but lacking spice. It was the first hot sunny day and so many people were there, but the wait was only about 15 minutes and they have an excellent texture system that allows you to take a walk while waiting.Servers and bathroom state were overwhelmed a bit by quantity of visitors. Will return to see if they get that figured out.“
“My friends gave me a birthday lunch there on Sunday March 31st. It was really a treat. The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and professional. I loved having my birthday celebration there. I would highly recommend to anyone! Go and see, you’ll love it ???“
“This is the go-to place for my wife and I in town. They have tasty food that is seasoned correctly (I don't understand the negative reviews I've seen in that regard and I'm picky about my Mexican food). My fav is the pork fajitas. The family that runs this restaurant was also very supportive of soccer at the high school and is always friendly and provides good service.“
“Everything is delicious and flavorful. You will not be disappointed. The only problem I see are the hours. They open and close when they want to and it's not according to posted times. That's an inconvenience to the customer. Please fix it.“
“Dinner staple for us. The Kid's desire for Taco Truck is sated by no truck but this one! Love that the veggies in the veggie burrito and veggie breakfast burrito are brussel sprouts and other cruciferous and not just left over veggies from other stuff! Salsa Verde has gotten spicier recently, so the Kid can't handle it any longer but Partner drinks it and I add it to my burrito.“
“Amazing food! The dip flight was absolutely wonderful. One of us got carne asada fajitas and thought it was great. Another got the matador bowl with carne asada and thought it was tasty too. Another got carne asada and shrimp fajitas and loved it. Drinks were delicious, we had the passion fruit margarita and the blood orange margarita!“
“This was my first time eating here and the food was delicious and actual authentic Mexican food. They had authentic street tacos which they call soft tacos but I'd have the say the only thing I would recommend to them is to maybe provide a little slice of lime with their tacos. The service there was nice and I would recommend anyone to go there if you want some quick Mexican food that tastes great and is filling.“
“What an awesome discovery this was. Now in a food truck next to the liquor store this is my go-to Mexican spot. Ordering is simple at the truck or online at the website. The staff is amazing, friendly and knowledgeable plus kudos for offering my pooch a treat. I tried the chicken and steak street tacos, a side of refried beans and wet burrito. All were excellent! My sweet spot is flavor from purity and I was in heaven The refried beans were superb with little if any salt added just pure joy The street tacos were meat and cilantro in a delicious tortilla yum. Will be back soon and highly recommendParking: Parking lot next to liquor storeWheelchair accessibility: Food truck is in the parking lot“
“What if a weird beachfront dive bar had your favorite burrito? You may worry you're in the wrong place for a good Mexican dinner, but suspend disbelief, ask for the flight of housenade salsas, and get your wet burrito "Christmas" (half red, half green). Is it perfectly authentic? No. Is the table possibly a little sticky? Yes. Does the lighting give me a slight headache? It does. And yet when I want a burrito or enchilada, here's where I come. No delivery service or delivery companies allowed, so prepare to pick it up yourself or better yet give in to the dive bar aesthetic and dine there.Vegetarian options: Veggie burritos, tacos, and enchilada options are fine.Parking: Alki can be a madhouse to park in during the summer season. Off season I can usually park within a block.“
“We did drive through and we love that this is a place you can count on to get your order correct every time. The staff is always friendly and very hard working. We love the fried bean burritos, veggie burrito, and tacos. Consistently good! So glad we have this option in Port Orchard!“
“I’m a big fan, I think the home made maíz tortillas put these tacos over the top. I especially enjoyed the carnitas, and the al pastor came with grilled pineapple as it’s supposed to!! I just got 3 tacos and a coffee on my first visit, but I’m looking forward to trying more of their offerings. Another plus- they have champurrado, horchata and pinole lattes, and aguas frescas.“
“Homey, welcoming American-Mexican restaurant in Magnolia. Easy parking (for now!). I hesitate to recommend this restaurant, but only because I want to keep it to myself... Seriously, you almost never have to wait for a table, unless you have a very large group. Friendly service and delicious food. Margaritas could be stronger, so order an extra shot - cheap and worth it!!“
“Wonderful service, colorful and lively decor and "siesta"-feel atmosphere! Unlike typical Mexican/Latin restaurants they bring out a hot refried beans and cheese dip along with the typical complimentary salsa and warm house-made tortilla chips! Try the Cadillac Margaritas with choice salt or sugar rim as requested and the Ultimate Nachos.Parking: Shares parking with multiple other local stores.“
“Great authentic Mexican street food at a decent price. Staff is always friendly. Taco platters are great for parties. We love the salsa/condiments bar, it makes this place a cut above other Mexican places around. The salsa verde is my favorite. There are also sliced radishes and lime wedges which are great for carne asada tacos. Another favorite of ours is the torta and the torta ahogada (wet torta). Birria tacos are also great.“
“I'm giving this 5 stars somewhat on expectation. The last time I was here (West Seattle truck) was my first and I really didn't know what to expect. The guy who took my order was kind of impatient and a little gruff. But if I had to be cooped up in a 16'x7' metal box with another person and a hot stove I'd be cranky too. I got the wet burrito. It was the biggest thing I've ever seen! It was pretty good. I'm not a huge black bean fan and there were a lot of them and they weren't cooked well enough for me. Just a personal preference. The chicken was a little on the crispy side. But it was good. Way too much food for one person and one meal. I went back tonight and the girl who took my order was really nice. I got the Los Gallos Rojas, the chicken tacos. Three word: oh, my, god. They were so good! And so much food! This taco is not something you'll pick up and eat with your hands. Unless you're THAT kind of eater. There was a pile of chicken on the side like they cooked too much and just piled it on the plate. I doubt that's normal, I'll see when I go back. And I will go back. I got the macha and chipotle sauces to go with. All the sauces have been good. We'll see if the tortilla is still crispy tomorrow. I kinda don't care.“
“Delicious! My verde carne asada burrito looked exactly like the photo which is a rarity. Not only that but I would say it is definitely one of the best burritos I’ve ever had. Green sauce was obviously made in house and it had great cilantro flavor. In my opinion the prices were very fair and I will absolutely be back!!“
“Try it if you haven't! Menu is solid with occasional test items or seasonal foods. Service is usually with a smile, making me think management cares about staff and customers.Super fresh, perfectly cooked in my experience. Shrimp that pops when you bite into it. I tried their ground beef soft tacos yesterday (palate wasn't up for adventure). Lettuce was obviously fresh, had never taken on that Previously Frozen off-taste. I reheated my leftovers today and it was just as fresh and crunchy as yesterday, even after waaay too long in the microwave. Tomatoes were bright red and juicy, nothing was mushy. Fresh-made salsa was perfect, too. Spicy and delicious without that prepackaged vinegar (and who knows what else) taste. My tacos were large, too, a real plus.Taco BELL will never match Taco TIME levels of quality. I want to support local businesses, and this location gives me every reason to go back.“
“I've known of this place for a while because I always see it during my daily runs. I stepped inside for the first time when my then-coworker told me about free taco days last year. I became a fan since then and I decided to go get a fish taco that I've been curious about today. Going in I wasn't sure what the difference between fish Baja vs. fish soft taco was, but the staff kindly explained to me that fish Baja is tacos style while fish soft taco is more like a burrito with more fish and veggies inside. It was good that the staff clarified that baja tacos don't come with fish. I assumed any taco named Baja would have fish in it, but that was not the case here. Ultimately, I was fairly hungry so I went with the fish soft taco. The soft taco went well with the hot sauce that came with the food and I really enjoyed it. I kind of wish it came with less of the creamy dressing, but I could still take it.“
“Salsa - excellentChips - super fresh - still warmVegetarian beans - so tasty! Most places just "leave out" things but these were specialguacamole - fresh and deliciousqueso - perfectService - delightfulWe had tried to eat here a couple of times before but they were not open. We got lucky today.Ate in. Will be backVegetarian options: Our waiter was kind and knowledgeable about veg options. Thanks!“
“The first two times I went, it was great. The tacos were awesome, and the service was excellent. After that, it wasn't much to talk about. Service went downhill as well as the food. Our orders were messed up or didn't taste as great. Cashiers didn't know how to handle 3 people in a line anymore. Took forever for the food to come out. They often didn't have what I wanted. A plus, though, is they allowed me to sub since they didn't have it, but they pretty much made you prder another item for the price of what you wanted.“
“Stopped in for a couple of drinks after a long, hard day. Went into Cantina and sat at the bar. Atmosphere is relaxing and the bartender was happy and high spirited. It was right at the end of Happy Hour and he was very busy, but it did not slow him down from promptly serving me. Was served chips with salsa and bean dip. I ordered a Chili Verde Burrito to go and it was delicious.“
“The Wednesday lunch special of two enchiladas with rice and beans for only $9.50 was a steal! Solid family-style Mexican food served with chips and salsa, and a pickled cabbage slaw which was nice to have. Colorful Mexican decor inside, Root sports on the TVs, friendly and fast service. The food came out quickly and piping hot. Spacious place for a workday lunch, and has a couple large tables that would seat a group. Margaritas etc available, but I didn't get any. Soft drinks $4 with $1 refills. Normally mains are closer to $16-20.“
“They have langua tacos on the menu. That is always a good sign for me, meat was very flavorful. I will definitely order more next time.( miss ordered, should of ordered 4 instead of 2)Chicken burrito was ok , beans slightly under cooked. I will be back for langua and will give beans a second chance. Drive thu was nice!“
“My favorite place for Mexican food in Bremerton! So tasty!!!!!!! The workers there are also friendly. I'm always excited to eat there!!!! I dream of going there ? Also, the store is very very beautiful and has a lot of Latin food to buy. This is my favorite Mexican place in Bremerton. The food is so good. Also the people that work there are extremely kind and accommodating. I have actual dreams of going there sometimes - yesterday my husband and I got sooo excited to eat there for lunch and it made the best Saturday ever. Also, the little shop is super cute and had lots of great Latino food.10/10 recommend!“
“The best Mexican dinner in the area! Such a great spot with amazing service and fabulous food and cocktails. You can see and taste the amount of care that goes into each dish. Four of us ate there and all four loved it. Cocktails were fabulous too!“
