“Buoy Beer Co. is a charming culinary gem. From their mouthwatering salmon sandwich to their delightful shrimp cocktail, every bite is a taste of perfection. But what truly makes this place shine is the warm welcome you receive from the friendly and awesome staff. It's like stepping into a cozy retreat where good food and great company come together effortlessly. With quick service and a laid-back atmosphere, Buoy Beer Co. is the epitome of casual dining done right.“

“Heard about this special spot in Astoria to get fish and chips out of a boat years ago on OPB and finally made it there to try them and boy, did I ever find my favorite fish and chips in Oregon. I don't think I've ever had tuna in fish and chips, and I'm not sure why no one else is doing it. So good, I can't wait to come back!“

“Don't let the unassuming exterior dissuade you; this place is the real thing! Great location, delicious margaritas, and the best Mexican food we've had on the Oregon Coast. Top marks for the chicken mole (best I've ever had in the USA), the birria tacos, and the guisado de camarones. So happy to have made this discovery!“

“My cousin got me hooked on this place. I don’t like waffles but the berries and cream waffle is hands down the best thing I’ve ever tried. If this place were open all day I would eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The waffles are crunchy and soft at the same time, with the toppings it just wraps everything together. The sauce is not overly sweet and sugary which is amazing. The price range is also really good and I feel like it fills me up and I don’t feel hungry for a good while after. My little brother and I tell our parents we go on ”a walk” just so we can go eat them ?“

“The sandwiches are amazing. I don't like onions and I get the regular sandwich with grilled onions and it's delicious everytime. The customer service is always good. I've never had a bad experience here. There is only outside seating or to go orders so that is something to keep in mind.“

“We stopped in on a whim this past Friday and we were so pleasantly surprised! The woman behind the bar was very kind and let us try samples before we poured us a glass. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting and the selection of wines was great! We will definitely be back ?“
“Mike - total rad guy!! Walked in and received the best service ever. It was more like friends having conversations and the whiskey, and cocktails were delicious. Felt so welcomed as soon as I came in. The distillery is in-house! High recommend checking them out!! Thanks Mike, it was nice to meet you and stay awhile for drinks.“

“Amazing. We were told if you go to Astoria go and try the fish n Chips from this one place but they sold out and so we saw this place and we were so glad we did. Hubby had the Philly cheesesteak and I had the fish n chips, we both shared the awesome bowl of claim chowder. FYI they have the best tarter sauce“

“Unique and hard to find beers found here. It’s rare to come across a place with so many beers on tap and a huge variety of bottles in self-serve coolers. This place has got something for even the most pick beer snob. It’s also really laid back. The guy running the place was a blast to talk to. Everywhere you look is a little bit of character.“

“After checking the city out for an upcoming middle school field trip and hiking through the immersive old growth of the Cathedral Tree Trail, I shared a wonderful TLT (Tempeh Lettuce Tomato) with my soul mate at this great spot below Fort George Brewery. Lots of veggie and vegan options, baked goods and made to order sandos and burritos- along with whole loaf bread to-go.Our sandwich was perfectly crisp, filled with savory tempeh bacon, sliced tomatoes, greens and avocado. A dainty yet effective side-salad and mini pickle added value and a bit of flourish. Decaf double oat milk latte for the ride home...Make a stop here, find the non-disposable napkins, real silverware and eclectic magazines for purchase as proof that someone here has vision.“

“Excellent tacos. They have the best fish taco, made with locally caught Halibut. This place is owner operated by Patty, the owner, who puts her heart and soul into her food. She doesn't nickel dime you for add on, like salsa or chips. As a Latin person, I love and appreciate the authenticity of her food. My favorite place to hit up when I'm in the area“

“Beautiful atmosphere. We didn’t realize it was on the water until we got sat. Great food, too. We ordered the bistro burger and fish & chips. Burger was our favorite and a must for any burger lover. The staff was also super kind and when there was a hiccup with our order, they promptly fixed it.“

“So stoked to find this cute hidden gem while walking along the piers. Quite a extended list of fry flavors, dipping sauces, texture of fries was perfection and the honey ice cream was mouthwatering!Kid-friendliness: Lots of fun flavors, kind and thoughtful staff and plenty of seating at cute picnic tables out of the sun.“

“Food was amazing. Honestly really hit the spot and while we had to refrain from ordering while hungry and having the whole menu this was honestly the perfect amount. I had a black currant cider with my meal and it was a great match for the food.My only gripe and why the atmosphere doesn’t get 5 stars is the seating is so scattered. And since we were looking for a place to sit we ended up having to be outside. Thankfully it wasn’t raining but yeah it would have probably made it better if the options for being outside wasn’t only big tables or tables with stools so high you can’t properly eat your food.“

“Apologies for no food images, but the food was too delicious to put down our forks. We ordered the crepes (both savory and sweet) as well as the Dutch baby. Pretty amazing food. Really wish we had found out about this place sooner. Great food and view!“

“My true rating is of the pub, 4/5 stars for the pub. We got the fish and chips and the Cajun pasta. The fish and chips was the best of the 2; the only downside being that it was double fried so although it had great crunch, it was too breaded and we had to pick around to eat just the fish. But the daily caught cod was amazing! And the fries are ultimately the best part of the meal! The cajum alfredo pasta was a 3/5 - flavor was there but the sauce was soupy and not creamy like a typical alfredo. We ordered it with prawns and it came with 5 which was more than expected (3 typical) but 2 of them still had their poop sacks so it made it unpleasant to pick through and eat them. They were big prawns than typically I would expect so that was a positive! The service and stay was 5/5! The room, although small, was perfect for 2 nights. We do plan to come back as the overall experience of the town and inn was welcoming and wonderful.“
“Yet another great brewery addition in Astoria! It's a spacious indoors with a couple televisions and lots of bar seating. There are a few picnic tables out front and the front doors roll up to make the inside open air for warmer days. The beer is always top notch at Breakside; this visit was no exception. I only had the wedge salad but the Mama Lil's Peppers set it off. The service was great as well. Highly recommend a stop when in Astoria if you're new to or familiar with Breakside.“

“One of the best kept secrets on the Oregon Coast. This is a little hole in the wall on a busy street in Astoria with a changing seasonal menu and some of the best vibes in town. There's always something new and interesting coming to the menu, including chef-foraged ingredients and private dining experiences where the chef curates a special menu just for you. Kenzo, the owner-chef, is a wonderful human being, fun to talk to & just a genuinely kind guy. Stay and chat with him - he's a wealth of knowledge of the local area. He's leaning into more vegetarian/vegan and gluten free options, which is great, but he also has plenty of meat and glutenous options for you.If you're coming to Astoria, check the Busu Instagram to find out whether he's open & what's on the menu. You won't regret it.“
“These folks were so friendly, and had such great recommendations. Very knowledgeable about their craft, and great selection on rotation. It’s a great vibe here, easily a must for a stop on the peninsula. As a side note, whoever is in charge of tap selection, you need an award for having root beer on tap. Best I’ve ever had, hands down.“

“I love this place. They have excellent basic hamburgers with cheese, bacon lettuce, tomatoe, and onion. I always get extra lettuce and onion, and they don't charge for it. The fries are excellent. They're crinkle cut, so nice and crispy on the outside. I haven't tried other items on the menu yet. It's also on the way home, which makes it very convenient. The prices are reasonable too.“

“We stopped in for a couple pints and some lunch today. Payne welcomed us with a hearty welcome from the bar before we had two feet inside. Super friendly place. The atmosphere is perfect if you like nostalgia and 100 year old history. We took our beers outside to check out the beautiful and spacious patio with many sitting areas, plants, trees, and a cozy fire pit. We each ordered their 1/2 Lb. Worker's Burger medium doneness. Payne promptly cooked our order to perfection. It was absolutely delicious and juicy. Our Tots were hot and slightly crispy. Just the way we love them. The food came with a caddy with Ranch, Burger/Fry Sauce, and Ketchup. Didn't even have to ask. Upon finishing our meals we met the Proprietor Diana. She was extremely personable, real, and friendly. She insists on providing the best quality and highest of service. We felt so respected as customers. Actually more than customers. Both Payne and Diana made us feel like family. We highly recommend stopping in for excellent food, drinks, (You've got to have their Bloody Mary) and great conversation with new friends.“

“More of a mini mart atmosphere than a place to get a beer, especially in the morning when I came thru, but my cashier was rad, and I got what I needed and was in and out quickly. GUYS, They have these balls..... holy moly. By the register, check out the balls. They are 8balls in one biggg ball, filled with the sweet things headaches are made of. I can't wait to try. ??⚡️ they've got the biggest balls of them all!??⚡️ balls ???? “

“Man, the view from the dining area in this restaurant is absolutely stunning! It's like you're on a boat with the rest of the ships on the water. Service was great at the bar where we sat and folks who brought out our food from the kitchen, both the guy and the lady were so easy to talk to and very hospitable, even at closing time. Bartender was a cutie, and made me a really good peppermint hot chocolate drink because I was freezing and soaked from the rain. Thanks for a great meal, and great company, I appreciated your time.Vegetarian options: The side salad was very fresh, and had extras like red bell pepper, cheese, and croutons, cherry tomatoes. It would be a great veg meal option.Parking: We parked on commercial street and walked to dinner from several blocks away. You can most always find street parking a block or less from your destination in Astoria. Unless it's a super busy summer event weekend scheduled in town“

“Updated to add that the owner really went out of her way to make it right. We will give it another try next time we're in town.I'll start by saying that our food was mostly decent save for the burger which was extremely overdone. I don't normally get overly concerned with service but there were a few things that really irked me.First I was sent with my ($85) pickup order with no cutlery. I went back in to ask for it and was handed two forks, one of which the packaging had already been opened and was told that's all they had. Which is unfortunate because 3 of us ordered soup.I also noticed after leaving that I was charged $0.75 for dressing for my salad. I can understand a charge for extra dressing, but I did not ask for extra anything. I was also charged for sauce for chicken strips. I was asked what kind of sauce I wanted for the chicken - no mention of an extra charge. Finally I was charged $3.00 for ordering takeout. Again this wouldn't really be as big of a deal if it was disclosed prior to me arriving to pick up my order.Would not eat here again and would not recommend. Just not worth the price and the hassle.“

“After going to Cannon Beach, I searched for a place to have dinner. I didn't have high expectations, but the food was really delicious. What we ordered was very simple spaghetti, but how good you are at basic food is very important. Appropriate sauce and al dente spaghetti... I'll go again next time I'm in Long Beach.“

“Great service. Excellent ambience. Love the view from the deck. The food is incredible. I loved the shrimp cocktail and the clam chowder. The chowder was perfect. The halibut fish and chips are excellent. Halibut is the king fish and it was done up perfectly.“
“This was a great spot! Everyone in our party of 4 wanted something different. We were able to make everyone happy here. The food was so tasty and the service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and funny. It was really quiet (Tuesday night) but the decor inside was fun. There were a ton of souvenirs available for purchase too, so that is great for tourists! I'd definitely go back and try something else next time (because everyone loved their food so everything seemed good on the menu).“

“Great pizza and friendly staff. I've only been there on Friday and Saturday nights when they have live music, and it is a hoot. Good drinks and a mellow atmosphere. If you like dill, you have to try the pickle pizza. I'm sure all the food is good, but I've only had the pizza so far. The kitchen is small, so don't expect instant food if it's busy (it's worth the wait). They have many different pizzas and regular pub food (burgers, fries, sandwiches, etc.). It seems like a lot of the patrons are locals and they are very friendly.Parking: There is a decent-sized parking lot that wraps around the building.“

“I went around 9am on Monday, steady but not too busy. Very friendly staff and quick service. I ordered the fluffy drink half sweet and it was still very sweet. The barista could tell that it was still too sweet for me and she made a sugar free one to see what I thought, it was still very sweet but it was really nice for her to accommodate my taste. My husband got the coconut drink half sweet and it was perfect. Next time will make sure to get something that is less sweet.“

“I was looking for a place that was open and offered good food along with soup. I decided that Uptown Cafe was my best choice and stopped in as a single diner yesterday around 7 PM. I appreciated that they are open until 9 PM as most places around here close at 8 PM and I don't like going to eat at a location that I know is closing up soon. There were a few tables occupied and one server. I looked at their specials which included a creamy mushroom soup! After a short time he came over to seat me and was very affable.I was seated at a nice window seat and decided upon the mushroom soup and their special pot roast. The server came back over to my table and took my order. He apologized for the wait, which in this post-covid era, wasn't much of a wait at all.My soup came out right away, and it was delicious. I was able to enjoy it while waiting for my food. The main course arrived and it was a huge portion size. I ate half of it and had to take the other half home. The pot roast was cooked perfectly, melting off my fork. The entire meal was very reasonably priced and exceeded my expectations. I had not visited here before because the outside and the location gave me the impression it was an average tourist stop along the way to the coast but I could not have been more wrong about that.I will definitely be back again!“

“The service here is great!! The drinks are good and the staff here are very helpful. There is always a fun vibe once you get to the window. I appreciate how attentive they are and when we asked for a particular drink that was chocolate, no dairy, and no caffeine, they gave us a great option. Really appreciate this location, thank you.“
