“Such fabulous meals and setting! We ordered 5 dishes to share & all of them were very very good. My guests kept saying all dishes were so yummy and the portions were very generous. We all want to return for more dinner dishes. In the past, I visited Epulo for brunch (which I miss dearly) and Happy Hour. Now I also want to come back for dinner! Service was also wonderful. What I was not expecting was the lovely, warm family atmosphere of the restaurant. I was expecting more of a "grab food to go" set up. We decided to dine in and I'm so glad we did. We got the vegetarian platter(falafel and cauliflower), the dish with the kebab combo of Lamb, chicken, & beef, and two kids meals for our littles.The rice was very flavorful, the hummus was smooth and delicious. The vegetarian platter was filling and idk if I liked the falafel or the cauliflower more. The meats were very flavorful and juicy.Everyone was full and happy. “I had a lunch for 6 people brought in for an event I had at my house. They delivered the food and everything was very good. Probably the best falafel I have had. The owners were very helpful with the order and delivery was right on time. Guests were happy and I was happy. I would recommend Shwarma Time Ballard to friends and return there anytime.“

“Best middle eastern food in Washington. Coming from Detroit (full of authentic Arab food) I hold high standards.The baba ghanouj was the best I've had. Perfectly tangy, garlic kick, very savory, and served with fresh pita bread. The iraqi kebabs were juicy and seasoned perfectly, superior to other Washington area kebabs and totally authentic. Plus they gave smoked rice on the side and a very nice salad.The prices, while kind of expensive, are still lower than most Washington restaurants for the same amount of food.Definitely go here, you will not regret it!“

There was a server whose shift ended shortly after taking our orders, so it was just us and the owner/chef afterward. Gigantic portions.Salmon penne - it could have used more vegetables, basil, and salt (or maybe just less pasta). “The owner is incredibly personable and is very involved with his restaurant. His staff is very attentive and have excellent customer service skills. I chose a faster made food, the Chicken Kabob (recommended by the owner) and there was nothing that made it feel rushed or made cheap even though the price was amazing for the amount of food that came about 10 mins after ordering. BEST DARN KABOB I'VE EVER HAD IN SEATTLE. I'm sad I didn't try this place out when I lived in the neighborhood 10 yrs ago. I'd be a lot fatter by now...“

I also enjoyed all of the vegetables, except the cauliflower which tasted burnt! The pita was ordered separately, which was unfortunate because it wasn’t enough to accompany the hummus. The garlic sauce with the tehini really stood out with the lamb and everything. The lamb was a bit dry, and the ingredients could have been distributed a bit better. Esthetically, the place could do with something. It seems open but cluttered at the same time. All in all, check this place out. Oh, and on a final note, the ketchup bottles on the table are not ketchup. Ketchup has a white lid. The stuff in the all red bottles is amazing, but if you dont like spicy, you dont want it, haha.“

“There's a reason I have been eating at Hummus Cafe for over a decade. It is delicious! It's a true mom & pop as it's owned by a husband and wife duo. They always remember me, and have watched me grow up over the years from high school to college and now adulthood, always greeting me with a smile. My favorite food here is a shawarma sandwich with lamb, but everything on the menu is good. You can tell it's made with love! And make sure to try the housemade limeade and baklava!“
