“Driving through Olympia and found this bakery on google. At first glance, the food didn’t look very exciting but let me tell you, it tasted and most importantly felt just perfect. One of the better gluten free bakery items I have had. I got a Hawaiian scone and the taste and texture were just perfect. Very fluffy and light and very balanced flavors. Loved every bit of it.“
“All the pastries are delish, and my Cafe au lait, was wonderful, service was friendly and pretty fast. What is a shame though, is the decor, or lack of, there's no charm. It's the run of the mill, white, bland, cold room. They missed the mark, to make this a real looking French cafe, warm and charming, too bad.“
“Imagine you live in the sunless, waterlogged hellscape that is Olympia, Washington. On one particularly wet and sunless day you find yourself in a cozy French bistro. There's only a single soup option, the daily special. You order it like a hero, or run away like a coward. A bowl plus fresh bread is only $6.75 anyways. You rejoice at the earnest and humble nature of this meal, and it transports you to a provincial life of simple choices and honest food. A chef brings it out, and you exchange small talk for a moment. The rain outside your window has now become like an old friend.Anyways, soup and bread yum!!“
“I've had the pleasure of helpful staff and a rotating stock of bargains to be had. Have to sometimes inspect the product closely though. But well worth the visit and search. Staff has been extremely helpful in tips, such as freezing bread, and every so often, looking at the best use by dates to ensure I can work things in to the meal planning. I like the old fashioned doughnuts, and the maple ones at that; blueberry being another. I look out for their sourdough bread, the garlic one is great, and the round sourdough for sandwiches. Chips can be found here, and I do like the tortilla chips. Worth the extra stop when shopping to find a bargain that day.“
“Schwartz's is a delightful addition to San Francisco's bakery shops; in downtown Olympia, nestled within three blocks, it offers another choice– there are three diverse options for bakery goods with a coffee shop ambiance. Each spot is unique, catering to different tastes, though I find myself appreciating aspects of all of them.As for Schwartz's in downtown Olympia, it is an inviting venue, albeit one I frequent slightly less often. It exudes the typical downtown Olympia vibe for a coffee shop, offering a smaller bakery selection than you might find at its flagship store or the farmer's market. However, it's a lovely place to have in the area. On my visits, I'm particularly fond of their choice to carry Batdorf & Bronson coffee—a personal favorite of mine, but I enjoy some other local coffee. Olympia is fortunate to have excellent coffee options; the barista often makes all the difference. Occasionally, I also pop in for a sandwich.Overall, Schwartz's is a beautiful spot for grabbing coffee, a bagel, a few pastries, or indulging in a sandwich.“
“Wow wow wow!! I needed a special order of the take and bake cheddar bacon chive biscuits for a weekend away but was not going to make it in time for holiday hours. Carly went out of her way to make sure I could get them in time. What an exemplary employee! I have always loved Phoebes for their delicious eats but the service today was absolutely appreciated. Such a great local spot, great cozy ambiance and fresh baked goodness. Don't miss out on this gem!“
“I went here for the first time today for my birthday to treat myself. I got four pastries and some tamales. The tamales are so good! I had a half of a pastry so far and it’s so tasty. The older gentleman was so nice. I’ll definitely make this a weekly trip.“
“We stopped by for a quick coffee and a snack. We had our 3 year old grandson with us, and he loved the sandwiches and cookie we shared. We enjoyed our brief visit and will definitely return.Dietary restrictions: I'm gluten free and there were plenty of options.Kid-friendliness: There were high chairs for the little ones.“
“The best place to order cakes from for any events. I will definitely recommend this place to family and friends. I placed my son's 1st birthday cake last minute, but she made the most amazing and beautiful Pocoyo theme cake. I didn't want it to be cut and ruined ?. I will definitely order my cakes here again. Every single details of the cake is worth the price I paid for. This place is 100000/10?.“
“The thing I love the most about this place is that they use cardboard containers instead of styrofoam. The baristas are very nice and gave us great service. The coffee tastes great, and they have a lot of options for customizing their drinks as well!“
“Best scones, hands down, and the coffee is a treat as well. I don't eat in very often, but I plan to. The employees have always done a wonderful job recommending things from the enticing and staples and seasonal options.Kid-friendliness: The kiddo likes to ask about every sweet thing on the menu, and the staff have always cheerfully explained each item and made wonderful recommendations.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair access seems to be "baked in" to this location. I saw nothing that would hinder entering or seating for customers needing wheelchair accessibility.“
“There have been many pastry spots in Olympia that have come and gone. Every business in our town is struggling to pay rent and maintain a customer base, and it only takes one bad week to put them out of business. Not this time. This time, we will try harder. This time, we will make sacrifices. We will work, sweat, bleed, cry- all for one singular purpose: to make sure that Oly's Malasadas never has to worry about paying rent next month. If anyone in town truly deserves your business, it's these people. They are so kind, and deeply passionate about their pastries. You can't ask for much more from a local business, except they also "nailed it" in the flavor department. If you were thinking to yourself "Maybe I'll grab some donuts at Safeway", you should just plan an extra stop at Oly's Malasadas instead. Are they donuts? Maybe, I don't know for sure. Do they satisfy the same urge as donuts? HELL YES THEY DO.“
“We stopped in here after exploring the capitol. We couldn't decide what to get so we ordered pastries to eat there with coffee, tea and a chai latte and desserts to take home. The ladies working there were friendly and helpful. Metered street parking is limited in front, but it's close to walk from the capitol.“
“We love Lattins. We have been going since we were kids. Got to always get the apple fritters and a jug of cider it's really a gem for us here. You don't know fresh cider until you go here and get it! The best you will ever have.“
“I love the pan dulce and they serve donuts here too. Our fave is the conchas. We have been here several times already and they make the bread fresh every day. There was a couple of times I went and they had sold out of the conchas so now I try to get there earlier to make sure I can get some. I only wish they sold good quality coffee from Mexico to make the visit a bit more enjoyable and being able to eat a concha with a nice cup of coffee to match the vibe. It would be nice if they sold Mexican hot chocolate too. But for now we take our bread home and enjoy it at home for breakfast with coffe. We will keep going back and hopefully one day they will serve good coffee from Mexico.“
“Best drip coffee I've had in a cafe in/around Seattle, love that the whole menu is plant-based, the savory mushroom pastry was insanely delicious, the staff were super friendly, and they gave us a free herbed cheese-stuffed bagel that was garlicky and awesome. This place is a must-stop now whenever I'm in Olympia.Vegetarian options: Everything is plant-based“
