“It was nice when you used to be able to walk-in, but for good reason SKT has grown in popularity so I would recommend to always book a reservation or you may not get a table. It has a great mix of traditional sushi items, as well as unique offerings that we can't find elsewhere. We used to always order à la carte but recently tried the omakase and the slight variations are awesome.“
“This was a birthday meal for my son so I really wanted this to be a great selection. We were not disappointed! We were greeted by the chef's in the prep area as soon as we walked through the door. The front dining room is not very large but we didn't feel cramped at all. We had reservations and waited about 5 minutes to get seated. The atmosphere here was not stodgy or too quiet and made for comfortable conversation at our table. We ordered the flat fee Chef's Choice Sushi Course, which is a 5 course, 19 piece meal. Presentation, flavors, selection...it was awesome! Paired with good sake', it cannot be beat! (See pics) Our waitress was extremely pleasant and explained the pieces in the meal at each delivery...I wish I remembered her name to give a shout out, sorry. The area where this restaurant is located isn't bad but parking will be tough as this area has a number of dinner establishments. Figure out where the parking is ahead of time. We actually walked from Queen Anne area. I highly recommend Shiro's and will be back next time I'm in town!Parking: Plan ahead depending on time of meal“
“Delicious rolls and noodles! 12th Ave roll and the yakisoba noodles were amazing and definitely a favorite from our group. The noodles were spicy and very flavorful. The 12th Ave roll was delicious with shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. We also ordered the Madison roll but weren’t huge fans of it. Other things we ordered were the miso soup, rainbow roll, and the crunchy cali roll. Service was great and the food came out fast. We also ordered the jasmine tea and hibiscus berry tea. The center garden area in the restaurant is beautiful and the overall ambiance is very calm and inviting. Overall a great dinner!“
“Very excited to have this place in my neighborhood. Sushi on Capitol Hill has become hit and miss. Have been twice, both times extremely happy with the food and service. I hope they stay for years to come!Dietary restrictions: Very friendly and helpful when speaking about dietary restrictions, even though it was busy.“
“This is a very cozy soba restaurant that attempts the fine dining experience. It definitely stands out among the Seattle restaurants in terms of the food. The food is definitely very innovative and the staff provides really detailed explanations about the serving. My only reservation is that the food is not premium enough to be this expensive.“
“IT'S NOT FISH! It looks like fish and the texture is firm like fish, but when you see it irl you can tell it doesn't quite catch the light the same way, and the flavor is lacking the distinctive taste that salmon has, and the deep buttery flavor of tuna. However, the rolls we got were all very flavorful and well-prepared. I especially liked the crunchy salmon roll, I think is what it was. And the one we got with tempura "shrimp". The seaweed salad was delicious too. I would definitely like to come back.“
“Cozy japanese restaurant! This place was a great meal with some great traditional atmosphere. I got the Variety Ozen for myself and the ika maru-yaki & the black cod collar miso to share. All were really good, but my favorite was the black cod collar miso. The texture was very soft and flaky and the flavor was on point.“
“My dining experience at Wa'z was delightful, largely thanks to the excellent customer service provided by Linh, our server. She was attentive, friendly, and ensured that our dining experience was top-notch from start to finish. The food at Wa'z was consistently good across most of the courses we tried. Each dish was well-prepared and delicious, showcasing the skill of the kitchen staff. However, one area where I believe the restaurant could improve is in its ambiance. While the food and service were exceptional, the overall atmosphere could benefit from more decoration to create a more inviting environment for diners. Overall, I would highly recommend Wa'z for its great customer service, consistently good food, and welcoming atmosphere. It's a fantastic dining destination for any occasion.“
“Kobuta and Ookami Katsu and sake house is like a piece of Japan that you can head to when you want some ultra crunchy and tender, juicy katsu. It’s a pretty small shop that’s easy to miss but it is a gem for all katsu lover. Super fun energetic atmosphere that always makes eating here fun, whether with a friend or your family. The service is great and hardworking, always happy to serve you.And the food is superb! No matter the season, whether it’s rainy, hot, you like soup or rice, there is guaranteed something on the menu for you. I highly recommend the miso katsu which is the perfect meal set with rice, salad, miso sauce, and soup. It’s the perfect meal for any occasion. It’s katsu nabe is like a hot pot for one and perfect on a cold day. And its katsu naban is the perfect comfort food rice bowl, with katsu, egg, and rice. So come here to try some of the best katsu in Seattle!“
“Rondo was amazing. Went for lunch and had an interesting bento box. I can't remember the name as it was on the lunch special menu, but had 6 sashimi, mini hamburger patty, bolognese sauce over rice, and a couple more items. It sounds a little weird but was really awesome! The quality of the sashimi in the bento box and in an appetizer ordered was extremely high!Another review mentioned the bento box being served in a plastic tray even though it was dine-in. This is true, but definitely not something that I think had a negative aspect at all (and it's a nice tray) and matches the vibe of the restaurant, it's an izakaya not a formal dining room. Thoroughly recommend!“
“First time for us here, celebrating our 3rd anniversary of meeting. Excellent food, service, and prices. No reservations in a really popular venue, so plan for a slight wait. Staff is awesome, and explained dishes we weren't familiar with.? The venue is noisy, so don't expect a subdued, intimate experience. We'll definitely be back!“
“Coming from Colorado most seafood could have been fresher in Seattle. However, I have been to several sushi restaurants in California (west coast “fresher seafood”) and this place was on top of the list on seafood restaurants I have been to. The way they mixed flavors and the food is majestic. I wished I could try everything in the menu because everything was delicious. The servers were great and attentive too. The environment was okay, everyone minding their own business. I had a great experience and left totally satisfied. I highly recommend this place.“
“This was hands down the best nigiri and kaiseki I've had, even compared to the high end sushi restaurants in Japan it's that good.Dining here feels like I was back in Japan eating sushi at the sushi bars, the table, layout, and size are all the same. And the fish was amazing. Some of my highlights were the smoked fish, smoked krab rice, fatty tuna, and the wagyu beef teriyaki was delicious, very Seattle. It is on the expensive side and hard to get but well worth it if you want some of the best fish in your life.Parking: Hard to find parking on cap hill so bus, train, or Uber if possible.“
“I've been here 2 times this past month and I think it's a winner. There's some Japanese food competition in Wallingford but Minato has Magee to open a quick to go donburi spot with fresh and delicious foods. The portion size is actually quite generous and they give a lot of tasty sushi rice. I liked the donburi but you can get a "parfait" too which is a nice smaller size if you just want a bit of something. I was carving unagi but I didn't want the whole donburi so the parfait was just perfect. They have a clean seating area for waiting for your order. I like the calm atmosphere on the inside. It's not a sit in place but you can order for pick up and have a nice meal at home!“
“If I worked in the area, I'd come all the time! Generous portions, quality food, great value, friendly and efficient staff. My beef bibimbap was full of meat and veggies; my California roll had an extra slice of fresh avocado on top. Can't wait to try their other bowls in the future. Owner was super friendly and gave my toddler a fun drink. Such a great experience here, thank you!“
“Awesome food, great portions, and expedient service! I’ve been coming here for three years, and it’s only gotten better over time. One of the servers in particular, Claire, has always been very nice whenever I’ve come in! Love coming here, and you will too!“
“I really appreciated the variety and uniqueness of their menu here, especially the starters and signature sashimi. Our highlights were scallop-uni with yuzu sesame and seared salmon with truffle ponzu but other dishes we ordered were also good and there were so many more on the menu I'd like to try so definitely will be returning! Efficient service and attentive staff. Clean & minimalistic ambiance. Highly recommended!“
“I came to know this place for the Peruvian food, but I was delighted with the sushi, after having visited several Japanese restaurants, I chose this place, it is incredible, the attention given by the waitress Lorena was very special, my wife and I were delighted, I I recommend 100%“
“The slogan of this restaurant is "the best teriyaki in town" and it is SO TRUE. I've tried a lot of teriyaki in the south end, Georgetown and West Seattle and this place stands out for its high-quality taste and freshness, as well as cleanliness of the facility and the kindness of the staff. This is literally the only place I want teriyaki from in Seattle. A+!!!!!“
“I’ve been dining here for several years, including with a group of “foodie” diners. It’s always excellent in every way. On long light days you can enjoy the view over the sound to the mountains. It’s stunning. And so is chef Toshi’s innovative and delicious cuisine. It’s the best Japanese fusion I’ve ever had. I could eat there everyday!“
“Another reels recommendation. Cash and Venmo onlyWe live in issaquah so this place is quite the trek. My partner was particularly drawn in by the oversized roll with a variety of fish.Maybe I picked the wrong menu items, but overall not sure what the hype is about. The oversized roll is 30$+ so it’s not like it’s cheaper on a per serving basis. The fish was also so cold to the point where it hurt my teeth to eat (I do have sensitive teeth, but I’ve never had trouble with sushi before). Having so many different fish in a roll meant I couldn’t actually taste the individual flavors very well. I’m also not a fan of raw green onions paired with sushi. The other rolls also weren’t anything special. We got a scallop nigiri which was good tho.Overall probably won’t be driving an hour to come here again.“
“BOMB!!!! no pictures on this post bc i devoured the food. kept it simple on the take-out and got the tuna w mayo onigiri, seaweed salad is simple but the texture & flavor is delicious, and miso soup. all delicious, would order again (very soon)“
“Today, we had an unforgettable omakase experience that I want to brag about. Sai is a hidden gem worth discovering! We secured a private reservation for our party of 4 and received the sole focus of the chef’s attention. We were presented with an abundant selection of sushi and various courses, each more impressive than the last. The fish served were not only exceptionally fresh and perfectly cut but also unusual, prepared to perfection to highlight their unique flavors and textures. The value offered by this experience far exceeded our expectations. It’s a rare find that genuinely merits the price. If you haven’t had the chance to experience omakase before, I highly encourage you to do so at Sai. You won’t be disappointed!“
“This is some very tasty chicken teriyaki. They use thigh meat which is juicier than breast. The meat was tender and flavorful. It didn't need the extra teriyaki sauce, but it punched the flavor up another notch. The mac salad was creamy and cooling; it was a great side to the chicken. I got the cucumber salad and it was also very tasty; I felt like I got the veg that I was craving. They only do takeout, so the atmosphere is okay, but not great. I wouldn't call it a bargain, but the portions were generous.I'll be back to try some other menu items.“
“This is truly a great sushi place. It’s not fancy, but it feels like a cozy, homey neighborhood sushi spot. The quality of the fish here is some of the best I have had. I’ve eaten sushi at countless places, but this earns one of the top spots. I highly recommend coming here if you want to enjoy some high quality sushi. We got the sushi dinner and sashimi dinner.“
“Food was fresh miso soup some of the best I've had and I usually don't care for it. We had two rolls, and it was a lot of food. I found it to be kind of pricey, but good quality food and a lot of it. the restaurant itself is a little dark and hard. It didn't feel like a sushi place but I gave it four stars because the food really was outstanding.“
“I tried the Area 206 Curry, which was delightfully spicy, the Bara Chirashi with its fresh fish, and the Miso Soup, rich in umami flavor. To my surprise, the free Mapo Tofu they included, with its spicy Sichuan peppercorns, ended up being my favorite dish. The quality is there, but I'm docking a star for the steep prices.“
“Excellent chicken karaage. Sushi wasn't exactly top tier but did the trick. Corn in the mac salad... not terrible but strange. The sauces were good and more quantity than I was expecting. Great service with attentive staff. Drinks are kinda weak. Food came out hot and fast.“
“Sooo fast and good! Got takeout to reheat for dinner and it was so delicious omg. It was ready in 5 minutes when I walked in. The worker was very kind and welcoming, and helped us with the menu. SO MANY OPTIONS!! And the prices are the best you’ll find in this area for food. Every meal came with salad and rice, the atmosphere was super nice and clean. Highly recommend for takeout or dine in. They had tons of drink options too!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options, the tofu is delicious and the vegetables are so fresh and yummy“
“The Kudedon Bowl was quite amazing. It has Salmon, Albacore Tuna, grilled eel, shrimp, Tuna , and Ikura(orange roe) along with some shiitake mushrooms, greens on a bed of sushi rice. The staff was friendly and quick with the order. The place is in the lobby of one of the building in 4th Ave in Downtown Seattle so be prepared to either take it to go or sit on the lobby sofa or some of the stool by the main doors to the building. That said, don't be deterred by that, the food is worth it. Enjoy!“
“It’s a nice and comfortable spot for some grilled meat and rice bowls. We got seated right away, the servers were fast and friendly. I really enjoyed the beef rice bowl. However, the katsu curry was a disappointment, it was a little sweet and the rice was mushy for my taste.“
“The food is all very good. I especially liked the seared salmon belly. The rice is an amazing texture. The cashier/waitress also bagged up my food for me to take home. I always find this extra level of service to be nice. I look forward to coming back in a few months and giving a better review. My drink could’ve come out a bit quicker than it did. I waited for water and my tea for, maybe just under 10 minutes. My appetizer also came out after three of my Sushi courses. Maybe they don’t do coursing, but that was not communicated. It also seemed as though the staff they had was not familiar with the full menu. They were not able to make the taiyaki ice cream dessert for me because their main chef was not present, and no one was trained on how to make it. I think these are the kind of things that can be expected from a new restaurant. I look forward to coming back once again when I feel as though they’ve had adequate time to smooth out the bumps. As other people have pointed out the pricing is also quite good for what you get.“
“I give this place a 4.7.Finally, we made it to this restaurant! When I heard who owned the restaurant, I was sold immediately! First impressions, amazed by the history, the photos of different celebrities that visited this location, and the different art that was given to the restaurant. The only downfall is the place can use some cleaning. The table we sat at has a plant next to it, and it was caked in dust. Other than that, the service was good, and the vibe was chill. Now the food, damn the food was amazing. Also, the positions....lol well let's just say, I hope you're hungry. Good size positions and flavors are to die for.Today, my girl got the Lau Lau plate, I picked the build your own Loco moco, which consisted of fried rice, spam, hamburger patty, and gravy. Omg, the banana wrapped pork was amazing. Pork was supper tender and just melts. The Loco moco was super good. The fried rice alone was supper good. For dessert, we got the guava cake and haupia cake. Omg, again, super good. The guava cake you can tell the guava spread was made fresh. The haupia cake had a nice subtle, but yet nice flavor,Overall, we love this place, and plan to visit the other location :)“
“Possibly the best meal of my life. We dined omakase and left full and very satisfied. The cook and server were very attentive and friendly, and clearly had fun along with the customers. The food was a wonderful blend of straightforward servings of high quality fish and some more adventurous and surprising dishes such as cod milt and a yuzu scallop. Truly one to remember and I can't recommend it highly enough.“
“This place has definitely become one of my favorite spots for coffee and bubble tea! If I could give it 100 stars, I totally would. Not only are the food and drinks amazingly delicious, but also the people who work there provide such a wonderful service and experience that makes you feel welcomed. Every time I go I try to get something different (since there are so many options), but I absolutely love the Nutella Taiyaki and the tiramisu coffee :)“
“I sat at the bar top with my brother, who I haven't seen in so long!! Our bartender, Azzy, gave us such a great experience! She gave us great service and still gave us the privacy to have an intimate conversation on the bar top. Will be coming back for sure!!!PS: get the nashville karaage and gyu don! So delicious and filling.“
“One of our longtime favorite sushi restaurants, Sam's is always delicious. On our recent trip, we enjoyed nigiri, bento box, and udon soup--it was all outstanding. This restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Street parking is hit and miss (no parking lot unfortunately). Now that bento now comes with maguro (tuna) instead of hamashi, but the wait staff graciously provided hamachi (yellowtail) this time only. We'll be back!Kid-friendliness: family friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Door is wide enough, but needed help opening (old building). Ramp just inside was wide, easy to walk down. Regular tables, able to wheel up to one. Didn't use the rest room. No handicap parking but you may find street parking nearby. We found a place out front, there's an old ramp right here too (former loading dock?). Staff was pleasant and helpful.“
“What a pleasant surprise to find in the Lower First Hill scene! Really awesome happy hour selection and deal with an intimate yet inviting vibe. Good quality sushi considering the price and a wide selection of non sushi items. Definitely recommend the Baked Salmon roll!“
“I look forward to visiting Nana's with each visit to Seattle. Sometimes we have just dinner or just desserts or both. I especially like the matcha soft serve, yum!I really like the open indoor/outdoor options with the large covered outdoor space. The desert case cracked me up. The dark spaces look intentional but are really just incidental air pockets between cake chunks.“
“Best burgers I've found in Seattle. And the shakes are well made, great consistency, and full of flavor. And unique flavors at that. The burger options of meat, toppings, and sauces make for a variety of options. It can be a costly meal, but lately, where isn't?“
“Bamboo sushi is a staple for date nights and great place to enjoy both fresh sashimi snd prepared roles. We tell people to get the green machine and rainbow roles. The hoki poki box entree is amazing. The miso soup and the edamame are great starters. Last time we were in we tried the Chirashi bowl as well which was great. The service at the bar is really quick and although we haven’t indulged, I hear their cocktails are good as well.Vegetarian options: There are multiple tasty roles and other dishes served without meat or animal products.Dietary restrictions: They will ask at the beginning of the meal and they will accommodate as necessary.Parking: There are multiple free parking lots and parking garages in the area.Kid-friendliness: This is a kid friendly establishment.Wheelchair accessibility: University place and the surrounding restaurants are all wheelchair accessible.“
“WOW. To find this amazing line up of creative sushi dishes at the quality and price Wasabi has in Capitol Hill?! I'm shocked I haven't eaten here every day since they opened. Cannot recommend this place more for all your sushi cravings “
“This is one of our favorite places to eat, and is a staple in our weekly diet. The service is incredible, and the chicken katsu is consistently incredible. Be sure to add a side of gyoza, you won’t regret it. We love Nikko!!! ❤️❤️❤️“
“This is for their new AYCE menu. I unfortunately never had the opportunity to try Niku prior to the AYCE revamp. The price and food quality is pretty good for an AYCE BBQ place. Better service and food compared to some Korean BBQs that I’ve been to. Notable recommendations are the Karubi, Beef Tongue, and Finger meat. Then if you’re a fan of duck, definitely try the Duck Breast from the A La Carte selection. Their vegetable/sauce/side dishes area might seem small but it honestly offers core pieces at a BBQ place (veggies, rice, soup, and etc.)The 90 minute limit didn’t bother my party of 3 at all. We all enjoyed our time and the employees never rushed us or anything like that. I was pretty dang full nearing that 90 minute mark anyways.I do recommend a reservation though if you’re showing up on a Saturday night. The restaurant was pretty packed and I could tell there was quite a wait. Also the atmosphere is just great, very dim and cool ambience.Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a different AYCE BBQ place in the Aurora area. It’s a nice option since it’s closer than going over to Bellevue for Gyu-Kaku.Parking: It’s a free shared parking lot with a bunch of other stores. So you might not get a prime spot in front of the Asian Family Market. But you can park at the Hobby Lobby or LA Fitness nearby and walk on over.“
“Great food and ambience, super friendly staff. I wish the kitchen paid attention to specifics of the order, I specifically asked to not have a condiment on my dishes and all of it came with it. That said the food is high quality.Dietary restrictions: Be clear if you have dietary restrictions, double check your order on arrival.“
“Sooooooooooo good! Better than Japan honestly! And I’m born and raised in Japan! They don’t cheap out on fruits! You get fruits in every bite all the way down the crepe. And look at it! The presentation of the crape itself is amazing! Well done to the beautiful people I met making these pieces of art! Picture perfect crapes! 1000/10!!!! ?yum!“
“The inside is like mixing up between jazz vinyl and traditional Japanese restaurant theme. The light is quite dim, and the overall feeling is unique (or distracted?).I like the raw fishes they served. I would like to try pieces of sushi next time.Tempura is okay. Not that great but not that bad neither.Udon is pretty...different than usual flavor. It's more like seafood-ish which is from bonito broth according to their description. I didn't like that much personally.“
“I’ve been going to I ❤️ Teriyaki since 2018 and it’s consistently held up as one of my favorite teriyaki places in Seattle. It’s a neighborhood staple and a popular lunch spot. Good family-owned small business to support. The owners are so sweet and friendly. They use fresh meat and the portions are generous.“
“A super easy to give 5-star review!!! I dined here after landing in Seattle back in February, and it was my first stop. I met the owner, who is so talented and so sweet! I hadn’t eaten, and I got there around 4PM. It was the PERFECT snack. As someone who’s lived in Asia for 12 years and a lover of Japanese authentic food, this is the spot.I got the miso eggplant, sweet potato salad, miso soup, shiso potato, salmon basil, and wonderful hoji-cha. It was perfection!!!!After eating, I shopped in her next door market to pick up a few gifts for a friend.Go here for true talent, passion, and so much thought / love into the creations ☺️“
“I saw the reviews and had to try this place out. I was not impressed with the menu since it has only the basic fish. The fish was fresh and tasted good, but not great. The price was a bit outrageous for the portions they provided. However, you have to try it once to know it.“
