“I went to The Spice with my mom for dinner on Monday. It was the best Indian food I have eaten in YEARS! The service was excellent, the prices were great, the food was amazing! My mom and I shared a couple of dishes along with getting salads which were equally as amazing! I can't wait to go back!”
“Vida Health Bar is a special gem in Yakima! The tacos were so yummy and I can’t wait to try all their smoothies. Tony and Freddy are so kind and thoughtful! I will definitely be back soon! In the meantime, I will be spreading the word that Yakima has this wonderful place that creates healthy food options for people looking for real food made with love and care. 🙏☮️❤️”
“Absolutely love this place! My most frequented location is the Bonney Lake Washington location. They always give great portions and the right amount of toppings. I'm a college student that doesn't have a Crumbl near me so every time I'm home, you know I'm going to crumble ASAP.”
“Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in town. I have had every food item on the menu and nothing disappoints. It’s a small, family-owned restaurant. They have a simple, one page menu of food but will have you coming back for more! Their drinks are good and have flights of sake as well. The staff is amazing, and very friendly and inviting. Opening hours are limited for part of the week. This is place is a first come, first serve type of restaurant and no reservations. I’m always coming back! Despite it being small, it’s cozy. Nice for date night or hang out with friends. The cooking area is very open, so you can see the chefs at work. Can be a little loud, especially if the place is full, but still a fun and hip atmosphere. Lighting is also dim once it gets dark outside. They have a projection playing in the background and music as well. Clothing is available for sale with their logos. Take out is available. Parking is free in the front and back, but can be limited at times as there is a neighboring restaurant that seems strict on their parking rules. On one occasion I had leftover broth and they suggested I bring it home! It did not disappoint in flavor all by itself. Wish they were available every day of the week! But it’s worth the wait at the end of the day, I’ll keep coming.
Parking: Parking available in the front and back.”
“1st experience was excellent. Mark, our server, was friendly and speedy. Appetizers came out in a timely manner and were delicious! Dinner was great. Mark and the busser cleared our place quickly so we had room at our table, drinks filled without being asked. Very pleased with our experience.”

“A little bummed today, we are 100% Taj supporters and have gone here since the initial owner Jessie and her husband opened it. This was the first time we’ve been back after they closed their buffet for awhile. No rice pudding, which was always a staple with the mango and empty hot food bins, sauce but no meat. They’ve also moved the buffet right in the way to walk into the restaurant, so when there is a line, you can’t get around for the restroom or you have to wait for people to move when you are being seated. I dunno, not a top 10 day there today in my book, however, we’ll still go. I appreciate that they finally reupholstered their booths.”
“We / my husband and I were there from Rocklin, California at a reunion.. we got there very late. Most of the food was gone. It looked delicious.. however, we didn’t get to enjoy it!! That of course our fault! … but I happen to be very hungry… two of your waiters (gentlemen) asked me if there was something they could get for me! Of course I said, yes!! I asked for Iced Tea .. brought to me immediately and then the second gentleman asked if he could get something for me .. he brought me a small loaf of that delicious bread nicely warm and butter!! It was delicious!! I would like to commend those two gentlemen!! Your restaurant is phenomenal as well as elegant!!! Thank you!! If ever I am in your city I will stop by and maybe the next visit I can enjoy that delicious food you offer!! Beautiful place!!”
“Ordered the caldo de Pollo and Tacos de lengua. Both were fantastic. Caldo was perfect. Not greasy, great tasting brith and a perfect amount of rice and tortillas to round it out. Tacos are some of the best in West Valley. Don't be fooled by the locale or the lack of decor- some.of the best Mexican food is inside this place. Don't sleep on Tacos El Rey!!!!”
“The food was great. The restaurant was clean, but actually the service was bad. I cannot believe how bad the service was. They finally started stepping up toward the end. But yeah, you know when you go in and you sit and you wait 15 minutes for a drink, a beer in a bottle, but there's something wrong with that.”
“This place is fantastic. Don’t understand how it can be under 4 stars. I’ve had every version of their curry and pho and it’s absolutely amazing—not to mention it’s the best priced curry I know of in Yakima. As of late 2024, $15 for curry/pho is insane. I can’t recommend this place enough!”
“Best food and drinks in town, and some of the BEST service!”
“This place is awesome! Food is deliciousssss I got the Green Goddess salad. I’m usually disappointed by restaurant salads but this was SO GOOD. And the juices are delicious. They forgot to make my smoothie and when I asked about it they were super nice and gave me a free juice and got my smoothie to me ASAP. SUPER FRIENDLY SERVICE and very welcoming and cute atmosphere. 10/10 quality in everything.”

“My Daughter and I shared a double, bacon, Smash burger today and I'm telling you we both loved it! Absolutely one of the very best fast food burgers ever!!! The secret sauce is delicious! The burger itself was full of flavor, cooked perfectly and soooo juicy! Yummmm! The lady was so accommodating at the drive thru. She cut our burger in half and gave us extra ice for our Ice Tea.
It will surely be added to the top of my list for fast food dining!

“Went with family as they have been here before and were raving about it. I ordered the Pollo a la Crema. It came sizzling to the table and was delicious! I had corn tortillas with it. Portion was large; I'm a big guy and can put away food, but I took home leftovers for lunch the next day. Not a huge restaurant but had a nice atmosphere. Server was awesome. Will definitely return next time I'm in town.
Kid-friendliness: Families were dining with their children while I was there.”
“i have been going to Essencia Bakery on average once a week for years. The soups, sandwiches, salads, breads, treats, cakes, cookies are amazing. You can tell they love what they do because it is reflected in everything they make including the peanutbutter cookies, oatmeal and coffee! Recently I bought a Danish rye bread at Essencia, and it was so delicious with butter, jam and honey that I could not stop eating it!! We are lucky to have Essencia here!!🥰❤️😋”
“Fantastic place to go to get coffee redbulls and more I love their coffee I am very picky when it comes to my coffee I love it creamy and this place is awesome just how I love it ❤❤if you ever need a pick me up need to stop here and amazing they have 2 locations ❤❤ highly recommend 😋”
“I always get the "Bigfoot" chicken fried steak meal, which is consistently tasty and generously portioned. The hash browns were crispy, and my eggs were cooked perfectly. The price was worth it though for one of the better and more generously portioned breakfasts I've had. To top it off the wait staff were all consistently friendly and helpful. For classic American breakfast, go here and brave the wait if you have to.”
“Fast, fresh, friendly and fantastic family owned find❣️. You might find Mama talking your order or chatty Erik or more fam. Food is excellent. Limited menu, but that’s good. And there are currently sweet EMPANADAS!! They’re small, delicate and delectable.I love the pineapple and Nutella is an option. My uncle loved the cocoa flan. 😍 I think my fave taco place is now a contender for an espresso stop with, did I mention, EMPANADAS!?!”
“I am not a big fan of cider because it’s usually too sweet for me. I tasted all 6 ciders on tap and they were all very pleasant. I even bought some to take home. What I love about Tieton Cider is none of it tastes fake or overly sweet. I highly recommend this place especially if you think you don’t like cider. Tieton might change your mind. The service was also excellent!”

“The Gleed coffee shop has really won my heart over, the baristas are always so sweet. This year has been one of the hardest years as I faced my mom’s cancer diagnosis and eventually her death. I never mentioned much about my personal life, and I love that I didn't have in order for them to be so kind. There were mornings that I went to the Gleed shop right before visiting my mom, and it was always a sweet experience. 🖤 Thank you for not only great drinks, but for being such kind humans!”

“I went through the drive thru, me n my grandmother, an we liked our coffee. I got a Iced Rocket, it was sweet while still tasting a little like coffee (? I like my coffee sweet). My Gma got a hot Carmel Macchiato and she said she "liked it very much" so we r definitely returning. Our barista was really nice an timely. Overall good experience ?. Next time I go I'm gonna try food.
Parking: It depends when u go, we went round 12, so there was a little bit of parking left as there r 3 businesses there n we went during lunch.
Wheelchair accessibility: It is ground level so from parking to curb it gonna be a regular dip in the curb.”
“¡Un lugar increíble! Me encantaron sus tacos, no puedo esperar a probar el resto de su menú. Me gustaron mucho todos los condimentos que te dan con tu pedido. No hay muchos lugares que hagan esto. Especialmente añadiendo el pedazo de queso fresco. 🙂 Awesome place! I loved their tacos, can’t wait to try the rest of their menu. I really liked all the condiments they give you with your order. Not a lot of places do this. Especially adding the piece of queso fresco. 🙂”
“Best, they are just the BEST!! They make the Best Bread, Cookies, Treats, Ohh My. Just tried one of their Lemonades and I'm in Heaven. So many different Treats to choose from. If you haven't been there before, you are missing out. The People are Super Sweet, the Owner and Family are just Amazing. I Love their Goodies So Much!!”

“We finally got to try this place and it’s AMAZING!! What a better way than in costume 💚🐢🍕 the pizza is delicious!!! Seriously! Soooooo good!! 😋 The people were so friendly ! Even gave my little girl a candy for 🎃 Halloween ! The murals outside are great photo opportunities! The video games are fun ! My daughter got to watch them make pizza from a safe distance and thought it was so cool ! Thank you for your service and great pizza! We will definitely be back !”
“This place is a favorite here in Yakima. I am vegetarian and there is lots of options for me to try new dishes. My boyfriend loves the Gyro sandwich and we both enjoy all of the appetizers. You get a really filling meal for the price you pay. We love coming here, the waiting staff is very kind and attentive, the place is warm and beautiful, and the kitchen staff really know what they’re doing when it comes to the food. 100% recommend spending some time here!
Vegetarian options: I eat very little meat if any. This place has great options for vegetarians. I’ve changed my regular order several times and have never had to order something with meat or stick to the same dish. They have many salads, veggie kabobs, their falafel sandwich which is my personal favorite, an amazing lentil soup, greek fries, saffron rice, etc. I highly recommend for someone looking for some different vegetarian options.”
“I just went there and there was a man that was mentally ill that I tried giving money to. He couldn't hardly speak but I got the hint he wanted food. I gave them $5 for food for him. I know it wasn't enough to cover his meal but as I was watching from the rearview mirror I could see them passing him the food. Thank you so much for that! Everyone knows this place has good food that's why everyone goes there but it takes good people to do that for someone.”
“Tried the Cali Burrito today for the first time and it was impressive. Will definitely be back again!”
“Very good Carnitas! Family came from near and far and were very pleased with the way they tasted even my neighbor came to get a second plate because her husband ate her original plate hahaha 👔
“One of my favorite places to go growing up in Yakima. Moved away 35 years ago but I go there at least once every time I am in town which is at least monthly..”
“Mexican Molcajetes Grilled meat of your choice served on top of a grilled nopal (cactus) leaf, covered in homemade salsa, a slice of Mexican cheese, fried jalapeños, and served in a hot Mexican molcajete. was so satisfying.i am on keto so no chips rice tortilla or beans. so rich and delicious! servers were nice too.”
“Amazing 🤩 service !! Eddie went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied . Serving sizes we more than generous. Will definitely return thank you Eddie for your outstanding service. Will definitely be returning and recommending our friends.”
“I recently had the most amazing time celebrating my wife's birthday here. This place is an absolute hidden gem when it comes to family-friendly dining. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome from the friendly staff. They quickly seated us in a cozy corner that was perfect for our little one, who is just one year old. To our surprise and delight, they even brought out a toy for him, instantly making him feel at home and putting a big smile on his face. Every dish we ordered was mouthwatering. “Puerto escondido es uno de los muchos restaurantes qué hay en Yakima Wa. Su comida exquisita:Filete relleno de pulpo y camarón bañado de salsas especialidad de la casa, atendido por sus propietarios: Noé, María Luisa y Jesús Castillo.”
“Love this place on the weekends for the live music. Megan the bartender is very welcoming she knows how to run a bar. Wine is great and good prices too. Perfect place for people wanting an outing late nite downtown Yakima open tell 10pm. Kana has become a regular spot for us on the weekends because of it’s live music and super friendly stuff.”
“Went for breakfast with my wife and we had a great time. The food was delicious and the view to the golf course was wonderful. The waiter was attentive and polite.
Definitely visiting again, maybe for lunch next time.”
“We Love HOOPS! A great place to meet up with friends, they have inside & outside seating & their Summer Concert Series is fantastic, Borderline Band played there this summer and we had a blast!!”
“We had two meals here, both dinner and breakfast. Our dinner was very good. Breakfast not so much. Mine was good, I had a veggie omelet. The waffles were just ok and the hashbrowns were not good at all.
Vegetarian options: Would be nice to have more variety.
Parking: It was nice to have secure parking.”
“Cowiche Canyon Kitchen + Icehouse ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Named after a canyon that is 6 miles west of downtown Yakima, Washington, Cowiche Canyon Kitchen + Icehouse is one of Yakima‘s most popular restaurants. When I visited on 10/9/24, even though it was a Tuesday night, the place was packed. I waited about 30 minutes for a table. I ordered the Prawn and Avocado Salad, which is one of their most popular menu items. PRAWN AND AVOCADO SALAD ($19) Grilled prawns, avocado, corn, black beans, queso fresco, jicama, lettuce, cilantro, mexican green goddess dressing, served with our tortilla chips The salad was good, but not as remarkable as I expected, given the reviews. It would be easy to duplicate at home. I wouldn’t go out of my way to order it again. I look forward to returning and trying some of their other popular menu items, including the Tortilla Soup and the Prime Rib Dip. The service was very good. I liked the design of the building, but because of the high ceilings and all of the hard surfaces, it is VERY noisy. Recommended!”
“A hotel restaurant. Bernie, our server, said he “started the hotel about 13 years ago.” He’s a good conversationalist and when asked, he recommended the spicy Portuguese sausage. I decided on something else. The restaurant is not “permanently closed” but it might be closed occasionally for dinner, as was the case on Super Bowl Sunday. It seems mostly a hotel guests visit here (1 other couple on Monday AM). Current menus are included with this review. Full-service Breakfast is not free at this hotel however my party of 2 received one $15 hotel voucher prize. I had the country fried steak breakfast which was fine. Spouse had the veggie skillet which includes 2 eggs and cheese, which was good. Not 5 stars because the water tastes bad, with and without ice; apparently it’s not filtered. Consider bottled water maybe, or order a drink.
Parking: In the hotel”
“Our waitress was phenomenal! Funny, entertaining, personality plus! Food was great too! I needed more salt, but then that could have just been me. 😀 We will definitely go back.”
“great customer service, amazing cocktails....lots of food options. The carnita tacos are Highly recommended 👌 😋”
“Where we go for lobster usually Valentine's day. Or during lobsterfest.”

“Grew up in Yakima as a kid in the 50's. Our family were fans of your big delicious hamburgers for 25 cents each! Then the price went up in the 60's to 50 cents each. Well, I just had to stop for a hamburger with my siblings sometime in 1983, I think and the same favorite hamburgers were a $1.50 each. What a treat to see the building be the same place when we were kids! On the day we were there, you were just finishing a new paint job on the building. Thank you for the memories.”
“The chicken tamales were great! Gotta go again for the pork ones!”

“I tossed my SBUZ gold card 5 years ago to patronize local shops. Two years ago, I moved here and found The Cabin. Great coffee, reasonable prices and mostly good baristas ( a couple of the newer ones are slow movers, seem to forget there are two windows). Ashley is the best. Remembers my name and drink, is fast moving when she needs to get milk from the chiller, has a fantastic personality and she's a beauty.”

“As a first-time customer, I tried the pretzel board and it was fantastic—sorry, no photo. Here's the crackers and cheese board, which was my absolute favorite! The cheese was so delicious that my husband and I devoured it right away. The strawberry lemon drop is my favorite cocktail, and this one was good. This is a lovely place and definitely worth a visit.”

“We are regular customers and tonight was horrible. Our server who evidently is also a manager was awful. She never checked on us except to bring the food. We had to ask for bread, our drinks and condiments more than once. Our sides were mixed up on different plates. The liver was still bloody. she never checked with us after we finally got the drinks. We had to ask for a box from the young lady vacuuming. They were not busy at all 4 tables total when we got there. Cashier had to go look for our checks so we could leave. Seriously have gone down hill in less than a month!”
“Have never had a bad meal here. The servings are large even at lunch time. The service is great and the people are warm and friendly. The prices are the same as every other restaurant in the area. We drive over the mountain passes for a day drive so we can eat at El Porton's, takes us 2 1/2 hours. We make at least three trips a year and would be more if it wasn't for the winter weather. Can't wait for the next trip for lunch.
Vegetarian options: Burritos, stir fry dishes, salads and more
Dietary restrictions: Will leave out ingredients upon request.
Parking: Handicap parking available with only four places but all the parking places are flat and would be easy for handicap people to get around.
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy wheelchair accessible, inside and outside.”
