“Exactly what I'd hope for in a bar and grill on the lake. Had the chicken strips and was very pleased with the flavor and quality. Sampled the beef french dip sandwich and was wonderfully surprised by the flavor and quality. Our menu questions were answered sincerely and promptly. Clean and quaint bar set up with friendly staff. Cools were singing along to the radio in the back. Only wish we could have stayed a bit longer.”

“A delightful coffee and snack shop, stopped en route and was glad we did. It’s clean and the staff friendly, they have WiFi too. Staff are friendly and they bake fresh on site. Definitely worth a try.”

“I’ve never been to a Caribou that isn’t excellent, and this location within a store is no exception. Service was fast and friendly, the decor was well designed. The only problem was the sheer number of flies in the seating area. It’s not their fault, per se, since they’re right off the entrance of the grocery store, but they need to figure something out because it made for a poor experience.”

“Our first time in, greeted with amazing hospitality! The kids we given coloring sheets while we waited for our 5 drinks. They were made pretty quick for one staff. There is a cute bookshelf where children can get a free book. Very cute jewelry available too. Affordable prices and as a coffee connoisseur, the best caramel macchiato I have ever had! Thank you and we will be back!!”

“Diane is working by herself so don’t expect snappy service. She is absolutely delightful and a pleasure to talk to about anything. You can order whatever you want as long as it’s a burger and fries. And let me say that the half pound burger on a sourdough bun is among the BEST I’ve ever had. We enjoyed the quaint and cozy atmosphere as well. She only takes cash so be prepared and tip her well.”

“A local recommended this place to us. It was cool to see the interesting mounts! Great atmosphere, and there was some great music playing on the jukebox! The bartender was the only one working and he was great! This was the afternoon of 10-5-2024. He was busy and keeping things clean, and all were severed promptly. My husband even asked him the best spot to see some bear. He didn't think we would see any but told us of a good spot to see some elk! Definitely recommend checking this place out! We only had drinks!”

“We had a family gathering for my nephews birthday here during the week (about 25 people). Staff and owner were absolutely incredible hosts, attentive to the groups needs, and put out a fabulous burger and chicken sandwich spread (build your own) with sides. Staff was incredibly welcoming, professional, and fun. Yard games were appreciated for family and kids alike, and the food was top notch. Restaurant was clean and we were please to see that other customers were still able to dine in and enjoy the great menu as well, with no lack of service. Consistent service, food, and experience every time. This place doesn't disappoint.”

Owner contacted me right away and made things right. The delivery system is still goofy, and I recommend not using it until Door Dash becomes more reliable in Hayward.

Do not order delivery! It won't show up and they won't refund you unless you want to jump through hoops and come into the store when a manager is working. Should be able to handle a simple refund right away over the phone. Very disappointed in the managers passing the blame.”
