“All the buzz about this pub is on point. South of town on the main highway - easy to get to. Very clean and very nice staff highlight the big menu. Apps don't disappoint but the burgers are the big deal. Heard a lot about them and they are very good. Nice place to watch a game or just hang out for a bit. Don't miss this place.“

“Went on a Sunday around 4:45 pm. I don't believe they have a hostess for Sundays, so we just asked one of the waitresses and she said "just seat yourselves". Once we sat down another waitress came over promptly to get us our drinks. We both ordered the ribeye steak medium rare. The steak was cooked perfectly, it was like cutting through butter. Salad bar wasn't bad either. The potato, bacon and ham soup was to die for. Definitely will be back again..“

“We like Whitman's. Great circular bar so it's easy to have conversations and interact with others. The food is great bar food and more. The soups are delicious. There's t.v.'s, music, and additional seating beyond the bar. Clean and organized but not so updated as to lose the up north feel.“

“This was my first visit to Era's, and it was a good experience. I and a group my friends met for a meeting and dinner. The food quality and quantity were good, and our waitress was attentive. I had the Monte Cristo sandwich, and it was delicious. I will return for another visit.“

“Outstanding chicken! Call ahead to make sure they are open, we stopped wanting to get some chicken to go and they were closed. Apparently they changed their hours with a note in the window but didn't update on website or social media.“

“Honestly one of the best breakfast I've ever had. I had the smoked salmon omelet. it was so delicious. I love capers so I asked for extra and was so yummy the dill cucumber sauce on the side was amazing as well. Our waitress was super busy but she did a great job! Thank you for the amazing experience!“

“First visit to Lake Placid Inn was fun & delicious. Love the authentic "honesty" and relationship building. The sweetest thing you may encounter is the complimentary donut holes. I had the Loons Nest(formerly the Weed Bed) smothered in sausage gravy, bacon, raisin toast, with a perfect Bloody Mary. She had the eggs Benedict with ham. Served piping hot, our food was delicious. We enjoyed the "entertainment" almost as much as our food. If you're into "Hi, my name is ____, I'll be your server today" - this is not your place. If you like Seinfeld, you'll probably enjoy Lake Placid Inn. Hope I don't see you there as I don't like to wait.“

“We had family in town (group of 8) and wanted to go somewhere special & after hearing about this place- we wanted to try it. Our drinks were Good- lots of different choices. Our Food- was OK- we all were really disappointed because we wanted Prime Rib & it was out.Steaks were ok- on the tough side- and no flavor- for the price we expected much better.Everyone else said their food was good- but nothing worth raving about. We all agreed- that the prices were pretty high for what you got & the quality. Service- very slow (took 45 minutes to get our food), our waitress was not friendly or attentive. No bread/rolls- or any “table snacks”-- zip- everything is “extra”. Pretty much ruins the experience. We may go back- just to give it another try - but it’s not our Fav Northwoods Place.“

“My husband and I were craving a fish fry and just happened upon this place on our way through to Wausau. We were both very pleased to be seated by the window overlooking the lake. The interior is classy, our service was fantastic, the food came fast and delicious! We had calamari and walleye bites appetizers. We both enjoyed the fish fry we were craving.“

“Sheri’s the great Northwoods Soup and Salad Bar experience perfect! I was so excited to get there! 2 home made soups that were delicious. A beautifully kept salad bar with perfectly sliced veggies to jazz your salad up. Every wonderful dressing you could hope for plus a yummy pasta salad. Throw a little cottage cheese on top and you will be smiling! Grab the menu and pick from daily specials or menu favorites. Every dish has been spectacular and our bartender was wonderful! Each time we have had a nice and friendly upbeat drink master crafting our bevs. ❤️☀️“

“Pretty solid stop passing through up north. Embodies a proper Irish pub.Food: they’re known for their Ruben sandwiches/wraps. It was pretty good. Huge serving for $16. $3 to swap chips for fries - which are absolute crack. We also got the fried cauliflower for an app - def a recommendation. Now, id stay away from there wraps here. Partner wasn’t a fan - a bit vinegary and bland.Service: it all ended up working out. She wasn’t real focused and making her job a lot harder than it had to be. Nothing terrible though.Atmosphere:Such a cool spot. Plenty of dark hard wood throughout. Big bar. Large booths. Lots of late sunshine pokes in too.“

“Probably the only "fast food" i actually like, we may go there too often BUT They need to have WAY more broccoli soup. The other soups will be available for multiple days in a row but almost every time I try I either get the last of it or at 3pm it's already gone.“
“Finally got to check this place out! Enjoyed a lovely dinner here with a friend. Service: Service was very friendly and prompt. Our server walked us through the drink and food specials and the menu. She shared that the staff tasted both entree specials and they were excellent.Drinks: I had the Almost a Mango Margarita. It was very flavorful and the Tajin on the rim really complimented it. Highly recommend. My friend had a Spotted Cow on tap. Regret not trying the McIntosh mule special, as that sounded good and was only $7.Food: We started with the Brussels sprouts & onion appetizer. This was excellent and enjoyed the Parmesan cheese on top. My guest had the GLT burger and fries. They could not stop talking about the high quality of beef and said this was one of the best burgers they had. I had the Mac & Cheese with pork shoulder. This was a hearty meal and I took 1/3 of it home. The pork shoulder and BBQ sauce really made the dish. My only criticism is there was too much cheese sauce on the shell pasta, and the balance seemed off. Their dessert was strawberry shortcake, but we were too full to try it. Hope to have dessert next time.Ambience: The restaurant has a big oval bar, which was hopping with customers. The dining room had two small areas - one with high top tables and one with regular tables. It was decorated with antiques, which was welcoming, Recommend checking this place out!“

“The food was really good. Cheese curds and pretzel bites were on point! Kids weren't keen on the crispy fries, but I liked them. Chowder and the Blackened Grouper were very tasty.Excellent service and kid friendly atmosphere!!Kid-friendliness: Lots of arcade type games and the view kept the kids entertained.“

“Wasn't sure what to expect when we pulled up but the place had a bunch of 5 star reviews, so we were willing to try it. Only a few food options to choose from but they were delicious. Even the picky eater in our group said she would be willing to go back.“
