Phil Rosenthal said he had Kao Soi when he was here in Madison last week.
The daughter and I had some today at Monsoon Siam2 and it was everything delicious he promised it would be!
Kao Soi—Egg noodles in Northern style yellow curry sauce, topped with crispy noodles, red onions, cilantro, scallions and napa pickled cabbage.
Friendly, welcoming service. Love it - Try the Thai Table for 2!
Overall the cuisine is excellent! Staff is friendly and the restaurant has a wonderful vibe. Indoor and outdoor dining is available. This is our go to restaurant in Madison.
We stopped randomly and were so glad we did - fabulous food and very friendly staff.

Based on the reviews, Monsoon Siam is one of the best Asian restaurants in town, offering authentic and tasty Thai cuisine. The food is always delicious with great flavors, awesome presentation, and fair prices. The drunken noodles with shrimp are stellar, and the curries are also great. The pad thai with tofu was some of the best pad thai ever, served in an omelet bowl. The restaurant is very popular, so it is often extremely loud and busy, making it somewhat tough to have conversations. The level of business can also make service a little slow at times. Street parking on a busy street can be treacherous, so it is suggested to drop off anyone with mobility issues in front. The patio is open, and sometimes there is a band playing. It is a lot of food, so prepare to share or take home leftovers. A reservation is recommended for groups of more than 2 or 4 people.
