My son and I were looking for a place to get a few drinks before the Badger Game. Found this place when the bar we originally went into only had soccer on their TVs. Wanted to watch American football, so we went around the corner to the Silver Dollar. This place fit the bill, but it was definitely the tale of two different bartenders. Dan is hands down the best bartender in Madison and has been for decades. It’s a crime to visit Madison and not visit the Silver Dollar when Dan is working. Seriously because of him you walk in a stranger and leave with friends. Cheers ??

It's a dive bar just off the square- if you expect more from a place that's been owned by the same family since prohibition than that, go somewhere else. Service was exceptional, as was the music of my youth! Think they have a pizza oven for frozen pies- friends brought in eats from the place named after a cocktail a couple of blocks away to absorb beverages. Go, have fun, and just be yourself!
