Frozen custard is a must when in Milwaukee. Leon's was established in 1942. It's a cool building- old school drive in with a big neon sign. I ordered the butter pecan and enjoyed the smooth custard. There is no seating available.
My mom and I were so excited to try Leon's frozen custard and it exceeded our expectations. We both got a turtle sundae and it was so delicious! The frozen custard is so smooth and creamy. They put a generous amount of fudge, pecans and cherries. It was the perfect salty and sweet treat. This is honestly the best turtle sundae I have had. 10/10! On my visit to Milwaukee, I was told I had to try Frozen Custard, and I had to try it from both Leon's and Kopp's... so I did, on the same afternoon!! At Leon's I had a triple dip (3 scoops) of their Butter Pecan ($4.50), and it was very very good... Better than the Boston Cream Pie Custard I had at Kopp's. I also liked the historic vintage feel of Leon's establishment over the more modern 'polished' vibe at the Kopp's venue.
