“We have been meaning to dine at La Merenda and by the time we've gotten around to it, we've realized we should have come much sooner!! It's tucked away on a side street off S 1st and has a very homey, yet eclectic feel when you walk in! Our server was so nice and was happy to answer any/all questions. The food was simply to die for. We started with some drinks and the beet salad, which had warm goat cheese on top - this really tied it all together. Then we ordered the lamb bolognese (our favorite by far), kung pao chicken (very spicy but so flavorful), and the Argentinian beef (a great cut of meat). We decided to get dessert because why not. The waiter highly recommended the Irish car bomb cake and it did not disappoint!! We will definitely be returning here regularly!”

“We used the valet, walked in, and were greeted quickly by the hostess. The downstairs was full on a Friday night so they seated us upstairs. I preferred this because it was quieter and felt more relaxed. The pepperjack mac and cheese was really good, but came out a bit cold. Steak was cooked properly, but was pretty tough for a filet. Served and runner were both polite and not overly conversational, which I appreciated.”

“From the moment you walk through their corner shop door, you feel like you've entered a familiar and comfortable place. The service and atmosphere are just what you want out of a local coffee shop. Andy and Anya were super friendly and conversive. And she makes a fantastic cortado! The Cream City Brick and the nods to the local hometown make you feel like you've entered something truly Milwaukee. The coffee is great; it's now one of my Go-Tos anytime I'm in the area. What a great discovery this morning! Apparently, it only took me 20 years to fnd it! Happy 20th!”

“Unique lattes that make this a special coffee shop to come to in Milwaukee. I had the experimental Pirate Lyfe latte and I somewhat regret that decision. There was a distinct bitterness that didn’t go well with the other flavors. The atmosphere of the cafe is very calm and this makes a great place to read or study. The worker was nice and the latte making process is very visible. It was a cool place but it could’ve been better.”

The Bluefin Tataki had a complex blend of flavors (citrus, spicy, sweet) and textures which make me want to try it again next time.(We had to wait for a table, and gave our cell # to the hostess - unfortunately she had the wrong number, but fortunately she saw we were parked in front and came out to our car to get us! “Our first time at a Wisconsin supper club/steakhouse. Kristi was an ABSOLUTELY fantastic server. She greeted us within seconds and explained how everything worked there. We started off with two delicious cocktails, two seafood apps, and the fantastic salad, homemade dressings, bread, & relish tray! My partner and I shared a porterhouse (there is a $12 plate fee which was fine for us and the server did mention it in case that would be a hindrance to someone) and we added bleu cheese to it. The medium rare steak with the crusty outside was absolutely perfect. We finished the meal with another round of delicious cocktails & a complimentary piece of key lime pie for our anniversary. I loved the vibes of the place and as we walked out there was live music. I also appreciate that the GM (an assumption) stopped by to check on us. I truly cannot wait to get back to town so we can dine here again- it was a fantastic end to our vacation.”

“I received my first delivery today and all the salads looked great! I ate the Apple Pecan Chicken salad for lunch and all the food seemed fresh and tasted good. I was especially pleased with the spinach — nice and crunchy! The portion was ample; could have saved some for a snack later. The order was packaged well and all the salads were chilled, but not frozen. My only complaint was with the delivery driver, not FF. The driver didn’t knock or ring the doorbell to let me know that perishable food was on my porch (luckily, I happened to see it shortly after delivery).”

“I visited the location on south 27street Milwaukee Wi. On 4-14-24My waitress was Misty she is an awesome waitress. She went above and beyond for us. Fast service. Also I observed another waitress who was handling a picky customer. My waitress went over to help her for a moment . Too. When I was leaving I spoke to the manager to let her know I was impressed with the great service I received. The manager is terrific too.Thank you for the wonderful service. I will be back.”

“With the food being undercooked whenever certain servers are on shift, they seem to be talking more I stead of working. One server in particular did not have a pleasant greeting, did not have a order slip, did not write down our order, and had an attitide, then because she had a loud tone, she was talking bad about other customers when they weren't there. Please fix this because anyone who comes to this location should either go to a dennys or a different gw location. Honestly this is just another case of employees hate their jobs. If they don't like their jobs, just quit and give an opportunity to those who actually want to work. Whoever had morning shift on Thanksgiving day they were horrible with customer service. We literally had to eat our food with our hands after we had asked for silverware. THAT IS A HEALTH AND FOOD VIOLATION!!!!!! WHEN IS IT OK FOR PEOPLE TO EAT FOOD WITH THEIR HANDS AND NOT SILVERWARE AT A DINER/RESTAURANT!?!?!?!??!”
“This is my favorite McDonalds in the city of Milwaukee! I was telling the staff this morning that I passed 4 other McDonalds to come to the one on Teutonia and Good Hope! The staff is friendly and they know my order as soon as I walk in the door! That shows me that they care and they are paying attention. The food is always fresh and hot! I love this place, and if you have an issue with the staff, something is wrong with you!”

“SO IMPRESSED WITH THIS PLACE! They had such a great atmosphere. It is so bright and welcoming and extremely clean! We hosted my labs 2nd bday party here and had a group of about 20 people. My dog had an absolute BLAST and so did I! John the owner was so welcoming and helpful. He was so easy to work with and made sure that everything was to our liking at all times. Highly recommend this spot with or without a dog. The added bonus is the food and drink is fantastic! They have a great selection of both and make a mean cocktail. I cannot say enough about this place!”

I usually would have walked away honestly... but my friends really wanted to eat here, so I reluctantly agreed to stay. We were seated in 10 minutes! I was shocked at how fast it was. I would have guessed it would have taken an hour. Anyway, they took our order right away and the food was fast and excellent. I had a salad with blackened fish. EXCELLENT! I recommend it for sure. Not sure when it's less busy, if ever... but worth a wait if you have to.”

“We are from Indiana and go to Comet Cafe every time we visit our son in Milwaukee. We went twice this time. Love the food and the atmosphere. Nothing fancy but it's clean and the staff are really nice. Lots of delicious vegetarian and vegan options too. The Vegan Biscuits and Gravy and the Tofu Scramble are my favorite. The biscuits are delicious and the Tofu Scramble has lots of veggies and vegan sausage. Highly recommend”

Toast specializes in mimosas, and the food they offer are great compliments to their drinks. I can’t forget about the service, hands down our server Heather. Was the greatest server I have ever met. Her energy and friendliness was incredible and contagious.”

“Had an amazing dinner on March 22nd at Cavas! Chef Ana and her husband Peter made us feel as if we were in their kitchen at home, enjoying cultural dining and champagne over family stories. The food was out of this world! We ordered the Mixta Paella for two. It came with an appetizer of Entrada (Pepa's mushrooms). This did not disappoint; the mushrooms were fresh and in olive oil sauce with Manchego cheese served on artisan bread. Next was Mixta Paella...a combination of Valenciana and Mariscos paella (roasted chicken, slow cooked pork and chorizo, with a mix of clams, mussels, shrimp, and white vermouth). The Spanish rice was crispy with flavor for days, the seafood fresh, and the chicken and pork cooked to perfection. Just when we thought we couldn't eat anymore, Chef Ana brought dessert, mini-Spanish flan and mini-Spanish bread pudding. Miraculously we found more room, as the dessert tasted like heaven! During the meal we sipped on a bottle of Cava champagne (included in the paella for two price) and enjoyed every minute of it. It's been a while since we had a dining experience this special. Chef Ana and Peter make you feel like a part of their family, and you can taste the love in the food. Highly recommend Cavas for date night, big family dinners, or a night with friends you won't forget!”

“We ordered Ardent's Lent special Friday only fish fry and at $30 a pop for either perch or blue gill we were understandably curious about whether it would prove worth the cost but because the restaurant always delivers the best in culinary quality we felt pretty confident. Let me just say once we got home and opened up our 'pizza sized delivery boxes' we were stunned ! Each contained mounds of perfectly crisped French fries delicately sprinkled with parsley & dill , 2 containers of creamy flavorful tartar sauce , 2 slices of yummy marble rye slathered in sweet butter, a generous serving of piquant coleslaw and ample serving of PURR-FECTLY breaded & fried fish fillets + 3 fresh lemon wedges to add a bit of zest. Seriously in a post COVID world where restaurant prices continue to rise and in many cases quality & quantity slips an utterly delicious dining experience like this deserves all the accolades we can muster! Congrats to Ardent's entire team for having the dedication & talent to put it forth . Only regret? That Lent doesn't lasted all year long!”

“I live in the far north suburbs in Illinois and sometimes visit the Harbor House when I'm in the area. I have tried a few different entrees and plan on ordering a different dish each visit.Their Crispy Pork Belly appetizer is delicious. There's a nice, satisfying crunch to the pork belly skin and the meat itself is tender. The Hudson Canyon Sea Scallops entree comes with four perfectly seared sea scallops thoughtfully accompanied with salmon roe, which makes the flavors come together and pop – both literally and metaphorically. I've also had the Rainbow Trout entree, which was very fresh.It's refreshing to see that Harbor House offers two kinds of lobster rolls: Main-Style and Connecticut-Style. I prefer Connecticut-Style, so that's what I ordered at Harbor House. The kitchen is generous with the amount of lobster meat. The toasted Brioche bun is so good you can eat it on its own. I don't think Harbor House uses Maine lobster, but I wish they do because Maine lobster is still hands down by far the best tasting lobster because of it's naturally sweet flavor profile.Customer service at Harbor House is also outstanding. The hostess is always very friendly. Even though we didn't exchange eye contact as I was leaving the restaurant, the hostess wished me a good evening, which led me to turn around and wish her the same.I wasn't sure whether to rate the Harbor House 4 or 5 stars because the food is overly salty. The heavy salt content reacts with the acidity of some of their dishes and made my mouth tingle. That's my only issue with the food at Harbor House, but it doesn't really stop me from visiting again when I'm in the area. 5 stars anyway.”

We had a group of 4, and dinner service took 2 full hours, plus whatever time my friends waited before my partner and I got there. It was a good 20-25 mins before the waiter took our first drink order. We were there an hour before they came back for food orders. We were never asked if we wanted another round of drinks, though they did refill the waters right at the very end while we were waiting for the check. Just... So slow. And it was empty in there!Again, I want to go back, which will take a little convincing to my partner, to try other things on their menu. Maybe sit at the bar next time? That might reduce the service time significantly.”

“I was introduced to this super cool coffee shop through a Yelp event and, for that, I am super grateful. It's a coffee bar with a large indoor space - lots of tables on the main floor and there's a second floor with additional seating as well. In addition to coffee and snacks, they have a bar with really good drinks, pizza, and sandwiches. We stopped by here after a date night at Glassnote next door for a bite to eat before we met up with a few friends for more drinks. We got a margherita pizza, which took about -25 minutes to get to us. You would think that for a coffee place, the food would be mediocre, but that is NOT at all the case! The pizza had a really nice thin crispy crust. The sauce was full of flavor and the olive oil on top was *chef's kiss*. The cheese was sparse (like a true Margherita), but the whole pie was easily one of the better pizzas I've had recently! They also had a live band when we stopped by, which added a very cool vibe and for a Saturday evening, it was super busy with all kinds of people - some socializing, some working. We didn't imbibe at this visit, but have had their espresso martinis before and they are truly top notch and I highly recommend!”

“We ordered Ardent's Lent special Friday only fish fry and at $30 a pop for either perch or blue gill we were understandably curious about whether it would prove worth the cost but because the restaurant always delivers the best in culinary quality we felt pretty confident. Let me just say once we got home and opened up our 'pizza sized delivery boxes' we were stunned ! Each contained mounds of perfectly crisped French fries delicately sprinkled with parsley & dill , 2 containers of creamy flavorful tartar sauce , 2 slices of yummy marble rye slathered in sweet butter, a generous serving of piquant coleslaw and ample serving of PURR-FECTLY breaded & fried fish fillets + 3 fresh lemon wedges to add a bit of zest. Seriously in a post COVID world where restaurant prices continue to rise and in many cases quality & quantity slips an utterly delicious dining experience like this deserves all the accolades we can muster! Congrats to Ardent's entire team for having the dedication & talent to put it forth . Only regret? That Lent doesn't lasted all year long!”

“We trekked up to the north shore to try this Siciliano ristorante. We, being my 12-year-old son and me, the guy who lived in Italy for four years. My son is a pizza margarita aficianato. His review was simply, "this is a 9 for Milwaukee and a 6 or 7 for Italia." I also had a pizza (parmigiana e melanzana). The sauce was outstanding. The crust was near perfect as well. The cheese was not top shelf, but still tasty. We had the melanzane fritte as an appetizer. Again, the sauce was unbelievable (we even bought two jars on our way out). The ambience was a tad noisy, but that isn't the restaurant's fault. What's up with Midwestern women thinking everything everyone says at their table calls for feigned belly laughs? My ears are still ringing. Our server was kind and clearly overworked. The place was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Carini's is a great place. I would give it a 5 star but I have had better pizza in two other Wisconsin places. Still, give it a try. I would go back without hesitation.”

“I stopped into the Voyager for a couple of drinks on a balmy Monday night in March. With a modern, European vibe, Voyager was my kind of place. After a couple of vodka cocktails, I wanted to purchase a bottle of wine as I will do what I can to support local businesses. The patrons appeared to know each other, and they weren’t particularly kind to strangers. Of course, my age doesn’t encourage warmth from younger members of the human race. In this country, older people are scorned rather than revered. Maxwell was our bartender, and he was polite, attentive, but not very warm. Although, his warmth was awarded to others at the Voyager bar. I ended up buying a nice Chardonnay to take home. I tipped 20% on everything including the wine, but that didn’t appease Maxwell. I was a stranger in a strange land. However, I liked the Voyager, and I will return with expectations for a good drink and nothing more. The Voyager likes its locals to be between 25 and 38. Although I don’t fit the demographic, this is a cool place for Bay View and particularly K.K.”

You have to be comfortable with your chair touching a strangers chair, because the tables are packed in, and all the voices make for a lively, loud atmosphere. Personally I liked it. We started with a caprese salad which was very good. They served good, slightly warmed bread and butter, it comes with the meal but we requested it before the meal and they accommodated us. I had the gnocchi and meatballs which was delicious, my wife had the margarita pizza which was also tasty. Nothing was so good I would purposely travel there for, but a very solid choice if you’re in town at dinner time.”

“One of our go-to places for happy hour! They have great drink deals and the food is also so good. I normally get the house sangria but this time I tried some sour cherry and lime spritzer. It wasn't on the menu for some reason but the bartender recommended it, as it's very popular. for food, we went with the breakfast poutine - always a good choice. And we tried the pancake batter fried cheese curds which were AMAZING. They come with maple syrup for dipping and it's unreal. Such a cute spot and it never disappoints!”

Love the industrial vibes. We had a minor issue with a group of children running around the brewery and crawling under our table, which made our dog rather anxious. But, I attribute that more to the parents. Luckily, Enlightened's space is large enough that we were able to shift tables and find a more comfortable spot out of the running pathway. We've also been here before without the pup, for a friend's concert which was set up on a stage right in the main brewery space. So much fun! Haven't had a chance to try the on site food truck yet, but I've heard it is some of the best BBQ in MKE so reviews to come!Overall, great space, good vibes, and tasty brews. Don't miss this spot.”

The beer selection was diverse and the bar set up was unexpectedly beautiful. Now, the food is some of the best bar food I've had. My husband had the Patty Melt and stated that it contends for the best he has ever had. The grilled cheese came with unexpected but welcomed cheese curds. The fries were crisp and salted to perfection. I spent too many years living on that side of town and I'm kicking myself for never going before this week. Definitely a priority stop in the future!”
“I can't believe it's taken me this long to review Component Brewing. It was one of the first breweries I visited when I moved to Milwaukee. It was in an entirely different location then, so this was my first visit to the new taproom. Such a comfortable and fun spot! They have so many different events, including an ASL Guided Brewery Tour (which is quite unique) and a monthly book club. I originally stopped by to drop off books for their used book sale, but I stayed for two beers. Very friendly staff and appear to be highly engaged with their community. There was a nice variety of styles on their beer menu. I tried a pilsner (I believe?) and an Oktoberfest (because it was the season). Both very tasty! I enjoy the atmosphere of this brewery and the type of community they seem to be building.”

“I have been coming here for years and I was surprised today that they don't have a Yelp page so I'm adding one today. A fellow yelper reached out to me years ago to tell me to check them out, Lisa X. The restaurant is in the back off Hmong Town and always full on the weekends with almost every table filled. The restaurant is dumpy with generic tables/chairs. They also are a Chinese bbq style with hot tables filled with pork, chicken, sausage, egg rolls, stuffed wings etc. I got the combo pho which is fake crab, shrimp, beef and meat balls to go with a sausage that comes with a spicy dipping sauce. I like the pho because I think the broth has a depth of flavor which is delicious.”

They also have the regular Chinese restaurant food options: orange chicken, lomein, fried rice, wings etc... those options aren't as good as the seafood. The place always seems slow- a kinda good thing because no wait line. But of the place is busy they'll refresh the food faster. I could tell some of the seafood was dry and some were soggy. Still worth the price and value for what you're getting.I feel the marketing team could've came up with a better name because HK buffet sounds like a typical all you can eat Chinese Buffet. If you come here expecting that, you'll be disappointed. But of you came here for all you can eat seafood boil. This is the secret spot!”
