“On my visit to Milwaukee, I was told I had to try Frozen Custard, and I had to try it from both Leon's and Kopp's... so I did, on the same afternoon!! At Leon's I had a triple dip (3 scoops) of their Butter Pecan ($4.50), and it was very very good... Better than the Boston Cream Pie Custard I had at Kopp's. I also liked the historic vintage feel of Leon's establishment over the more modern 'polished' vibe at the Kopp's venue. Do the taste test for yourselves and visit both establishments. A good excuse to eat more Frozen Custard.“
“My go to is usually a almond chai or Jolly Green Jenny, a single maple-syrup laced crepe and a side of tofu scramble. Together they satisfy all my sweet salty and savory cravings with a comforting hot beverage. It’s always civilized in there, everyone keeping their voices to a mellow decibel and the greenery all over in the living walls is over the top beautiful. In the summertime it’s gorgeous outside. Michael and his staff are always hospitable and polite and you feel like they’re family taking care of you. It’s a terrific little gem tucked away in a sweet spot. Go there for healthy ish eats but mostly go because it feeds your soul.“

“I don’t think I’ve had Taiwanese food before. The flavors are still unique to me but the food was so fresh, loved the balanced veggies on the side & generous portions to price. I ordered for the family the Hung Shao Pork Bento (braised pork belly), Korean Style Crispy Chicken Bento, Fried Dumplings and Pork Buns. Everything LOOKED AMAZING! Presentation of bento box was picture perfect! I had the Korean Style Crispy Chicken & it was so fresh and satisfying. The Pork Bun was a nice appetizer as well. And I especially enjoyed the fried dumplings. ?I’ve been hesitant to try this place BUT I’m so glad I did! Definitely recommend!“

There are lots of picnic tables inside and outside, and gas fire pits on the patio in the Fall and Winter. Views of Lake Michigan are top notch as this spot is right on the water. The menu selection is pretty big for a Biergarten with sandwiches, flat bread, a variety of appetizers and drinks. They even have a gluten-free* crust for the flatbread. We did a few sandwiches and a flatbread and thought the food was pretty good. This place is really for the ambiance and drinks so probably won't be the best meal you've ever had but the food serves its purpose. Note - they have beer, seltzers and sangria. This is part of MKE County Parks so they don't have a permit for wine. We love South Shore and will continue to keep visiting! *Not sure about cross-contamination for gluten-free items. Recommended to call and ask if you have additional needs“
“My favorite part of this brewery was they had a baby changing station in the women's and men's room! Brewery was great! Good beer and they allow dogs inside! They had a ton of snack options as well like pretzels and cookies. Great atmosphere!“

Loved how they made it with the sauce. Very crispy till the end. Had the Banh Mi. Unfortunately this was where I had to drop a star. Meat and filling was great. However, the bread roll was not baguette style and crispy. Soft and more a hoagie style. Banh Mi bread should be a crispy. So for me, will order other items and not the Banh Mi. Otherwise I look forward to trying the Ramen and other items.“

These were really excellent, and I would probably get them instead of wings here in the future. The rest of the meal was good as well, a wide variety of options are available, so I'd say this is a good option for family or business meals where you need something to please different palettes. “Great beer and great service at Enlightened Brewing! I'm always on the hunt for dog friendly spots where I can grab a tasty brew and our pup can kick back with his bone. Space is beautiful! Love the industrial vibes. We had a minor issue with a group of children running around the brewery and crawling under our table, which made our dog rather anxious. But, I attribute that more to the parents. Luckily, Enlightened's space is large enough that we were able to shift tables and find a more comfortable spot out of the running pathway. We've also been here before without the pup, for a friend's concert which was set up on a stage right in the main brewery space. So much fun! Haven't had a chance to try the on site food truck yet, but I've heard it is some of the best BBQ in MKE so reviews to come!Overall, great space, good vibes, and tasty brews. Don't miss this spot.“

“I can't believe it's taken me this long to review Component Brewing. It was one of the first breweries I visited when I moved to Milwaukee. It was in an entirely different location then, so this was my first visit to the new taproom. Such a comfortable and fun spot! They have so many different events, including an ASL Guided Brewery Tour (which is quite unique) and a monthly book club. I originally stopped by to drop off books for their used book sale, but I stayed for two beers. Very friendly staff and appear to be highly engaged with their community. There was a nice variety of styles on their beer menu. I tried a pilsner (I believe?) and an Oktoberfest (because it was the season). Both very tasty! I enjoy the atmosphere of this brewery and the type of community they seem to be building.“

“Had breakfast at Cafe Benelux when staying close by the Third Ward. The Cafe is quite large with a big central bar and lots of seating inside and upstairs outside. The ambience is very nice as was my server, Kenna. I had the Short Rib Fajita Hash ($19), and it was a sizeable portion and kept me going all day!! The coffee was good too ($3). Well worth a visit.“
“A local friend recommended a great lunch, and he nailed it! Street parking was easy, and it was a fun overall experience. I enjoyed their schtick of roasting peanuts and then forwarding them via their interior "drop zones," a series of tubes that deliver the peanuts to your table without a server attending to it. The cool interior includes replica bombs and cool artwork. Their stools are very cool, with unique bottoms. Our server was brand new, and she rocked it. The restaurant manager was friendly and helpful. I loved my Classic AJ Burger. It was tasty and well prepared, and adding bacon to a big burger was a good idea. I also enjoyed the tater tots.“

She provided recommendations, along with great descriptions on what each item was and why she recommended them (the fried chicken and the several drinks we got). The food and drinks = the best fried chicken in MKE I've had to date. They had options for a small (6pc) or a large (14pc). We had ordered a large, and after 10 minutes... had to go order another large box for just myself lol. The drinks varied. We ordered black tea-milk tea, sugar Boba, strawberry mojito etc, and they were so well made. Everyone in the group had loved their drinks. The place itself was very minimalistically cute. It had a sad clown in the middle of the seating area, which really drew me in. Overall, would 10/10 recommend this place.“
