“Great friendly casual atmosphere to enjoy with family and friends. Had a mushroom Swiss burger and fries which were great. Easy to self order on sheets of paper on table and then just take the sheet up to pay when finished. A must do if your in Random Lake Area.”
“We've had several batches from Coffee by Gillespie, and it is incredible the breadth of flavors that are brought out in the coffee. I'm used to the disappointment of tasting a new coffee and immediately discovering that they are overpoweringly acidic or have that burnt character; not the case here. With all of these coffees there has been a great combination of richness offset by sweeter notes.I opened a bag of the 1517 Roast for a pour over this morning, and it was one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had. I look forward to working my way through the rest of the types I have not tried, but I think 1517 is one just to have on hand.”
“I bet no one on Yelp has been to this place nor will they stop. The Mirror Bar is in the unincorporated town of Dacada Wisconsin. My wife's uncle who grew up in the area told us about this old tavern run by the friendly owner Nic. They went to high school together. We were on a tour of family landmarks and stopped here. We were surprised it was open since we were warned the hours were erratic. No one was in the place on a Saturday afternoon except for Nic eating lunch at the bar. We explained our relation to him and then proceeded to have a beer some chips and a long conversation with him. He is super friendly and the beer was cheap and cold (only two kinds on tap). The place is dark, with peeling paint on the ceiling and a side room that could use a garage sale. There is tons of Packer and other sports memorabilia on the walls. The Mirror Bar has seen better days but it was fun to stop in to see a rural tavern that might not be around too much longer.”
“I moved from Milwaukee to Fredonia at the beginning of this year & randomly drove passed this place one day without trying it. After that, I tried so hard looking for it on Google, but I guess at the time it wasn't on Google yet.I finally decided to try it. I got their steak tacos & it was so good! By far the best restaurant food I've had in this Fredonia area since moving here. Being from Milwaukee, a bigger city with much more dining options, it takes a lot to impress me, & this place was legit from my experience. I see some review say theirs was cold & not fresh, mine was fresh though. They cooked the meat right in front of me while I was there.I hope they have deals. In Milwaukee, I went to Chicken Palace a lot, because they had a tray of 20 tacos for $35. It's much easier to feed a family buying one of those trays, rather than having to pay for each taco individually.”
“We come here every time we're in Random Lake and it never disappoints! Friendly bartenders, decent beer selection, and classic bar atmosphere. There's no reason not to stop in!”
“We had dinner last night with our 3 children. I was apprehensive because of the negative reviews BUT I must say "don't believe everything you read". You really must experience it for yourself. Christmas decorations were a delight. Our waitress and all the staff we came in contact with were pleasant and polite. I had the salad bar which was full of crisp variety lettuce, lots of toppings, noodle salads and cute bread shaped croutons that were delicious. Salad bar is chilled to perfect Temperature. My husband had the flat iron steak which was medium to the tee. Our oldest had chicken tenders that looked hand dipped and she ate everything. Our middle daughter had a chicken sandwich which she liked and ate everything. Our youngest ordered grilled cheese and since he never eats his food when we go out; we took it to go and he ate everything the next day for lunch. Our children had sundaes for dessert which are very large and they enjoyed them. We will be back!!”
“Went on a Friday night for fish fry and it was pretty good. Nothing over the top, or anything that will blow you away, but its better than some of these other local family restaurants thats for sure. They have a decent selection on their menu, and the wait for anything take out is pretty quick if you choose to grab something on the go. I have stopped in about 5 times since I learned about the place and i haven't been disappointed with any of the food i ordered. My hats off to the owner as he's normally the only one cooking, at least he has been the only one cooking every time iv stopped in, usually Friday's for fish fry. He definitely has a passion for cooking and that’s something you don't see often with restaurant chefs anymore. He will personally come to your table to greet himself and to ask how your food is to your liking! Thats the passion im talking about, and he seems to really care about his customers. Iv seem so many restaurants come and go over the past 20 years in that location because they just dont make enough to keep in running. If anyone deserves a successful business to stay open it would be the current owner as he’s a great example of how a business should operate and interact in a smaller town. Every customer is so crucial to his success and the effort he puts in for each customer to ensure satisfaction is definitely off the charts.”
“Food was great, brian our server was awesome. I got the ribye sandwich with fries, ribye was awesome but thought there could be more fries..the little basket is neat but small. Over all..good people, good food!”
“Parking: On street parking and lot parking both free ..no over night though..usually carry out ...call before for added time saving...it's popular so keep that in mind...these folks are good people trying to give you great food and service.”
“We had the pleasant experience of having Koffie Trader cater heavy appetizers at our recent gathering. WOW! The bourbon meatballs, gorgonzola stuffed mushrooms, water chestnuts wrapped in beacon, spinach cheese spanakopita and assorted desserts were a huge hit. Great presentation and everything was delicious!!!!”
“Great food and service! Excellent fish fry!! We always enjoy it here. We have been to seven hills pub many times and always enjoy when we come back. They also have fun karaoke on Friday nights.”
“I recently moved to Newburg and was excited to see all of the new restaurant options to check out. My first experience was take out of Cork N Barrel (which is walking distance from my house!)I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger Wrap, the Black n Blue Burger, the Barrel Burger, and the Jumbo Patty Melt with a side of Mac n cheese instead of fries.I was a little confused where to go to pick up my food, but was quickly pointed to the kitchen area up the steps.(When you walk in it just looks like a bar). Parking on the street was easy to find. The macaroni and cheese was delicious!! I will definitely be getting that again. The barrel burger and the jumbo petty melt were amazing!! I think the patty malt was my favorite thing so far. The black and blue burger was pretty good except it was a little disappointed how simple it was. But everything was cooked to perfection!!Next time I might try eating there instead of take out because it looks like a great atmosphere.Highly recommend!”
“Small yet upscale hole in the wall. Delicious cocktail bar; my jaw dropped when I saw the amazing prices as well! Glad to have this gem added to newburg! I have yet to try the food truck outside, we will be back!”
“A real honest to goodness Midwestern American bakery! If you know what I'm talking about you're probably already heading there; if not, imagine the warmest fuzziest feeling of contentment while you breathe in the perfectly baked bread. Don't miss it!”
“The pretzel combo appetizer was so delicious and amazing!! They served it and I freaked out!! It made me so happy!! Huge fluffy delicious pretzel the size of an extra large pizza filled w giant Mac n cheese bites and chicken nuggets and cheese curds! Each tastier than the other. You had me at giant pretzel!!!!! And of course cheese for dipping. Ordered the fish combo for dinner - omg the scallops were magical. The fried fish lightly breaded and oh so tasty. Would definitely drive 2 1/2 plus hours to come back. Seriously, the pretzel alone are what dreams are made of”
“Absolutely delicious food, I ordered the fried chicken on a bun, and it was AMAZING, the best I've had in a long time! And the fries came out hot too! I also loved the atmosphere - bunches of little tables with friendly chatter and happy servers. Will definitely be going here again!Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and booster seats available!”
“We were having a tough day after euthanizing our black cat and looking for a place to toast to Edgar.John and the customers made us feel at home and took our minds off everything. Maddie(sp?) also makes the most amazing bead bracelets - a couple were a black cat paw and a halloween bracelet which were perfect.”
“Every year our tradition on Halloween consists of trick or treating in Cascade and picking up a bacon cheeseburger pizza from Nevvo’s Pizza after we finish. Their C/B Pizza is absolutely amazing and unique to their restaurant. Their little shopfront is very cute and a nice addition to downtown Cascade. Very professional looking place and great service. They also have Cedarcrest ice cream for sale in their store. I love this place and so does my family.”
“I have been coming to cedar valley hunt club for the last 3-4 years. The last 2 years we have been paired with Jake and his dog Cedar. Absolutely amazing what his dog can do and how well she listens to him. Would highly recommend requesting Jake as your guide. Very social and tries to provide equal opportunity for everyone in your group to shoot some birds. Overall would highly recommend this hunt club and Jake and Cedar as your guides. Paul who left a 1 star review must be a pretty bad shot and has about as many IQ points as birds he shot.”
“The French fries are awesome, skin on. The burger was very good. My husband had the Philly cheese sandwich and he thought it was very good as well. My friend had a chicken wrap, that looked really good. I believe I'll go back and try one.”
“Nowhere was wonderful I’ve never seen someone give so much love to birds there’s ducks there’s turkeys there’s a big boy named baby bird I think is maybe his name he wears hats one hat is a turkey trucker in hate is a turkey cowboy he’s a butterball he’s white and very friendly. He likes to listen to the radio let’s all pool in and get him a better radio with a better station. The lights are good there’s ducks, there’s a lake you can look at the bartenders wonderful the pizza was very good and the people are very friendly. They have ouchtunes and also a bluetooth speaker that you could play things from.go for the drinks stay for the birds”
“The food menu has an unexpected amount of options (very good- stuck with the basics considering bar food) and their corner was under road repair. Don't skip them, friendly service and good food along with fair prices.”
“Jen is a hard-working young woman who purchased an existing business (Barb's Place, Fredonia. WI) after working there and learning the business. She has made it her own. Customers are her friends and extended family. It is a pub and grill with good food and drinks. Many specials for lunch. During the day, it is family friendly. Evenings bring karaoke, live entertainment, and lots of fun for adults.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp entrance.”
“Linda and I totally love this place. The beers are totally ice cold. The owner bill is fabulous and outgoing. And also, if you're looking for any eclectic knick knacks for your house, go to the back room if he doesn't have the 1 hubcap for Edsel, somebody else must have just purchased it. Coca-Cola signs baseballs photos memorabilia antiques galore in collectibles The rotating hams beer signs if he doesn't have it, it wasn't made back in the day. Go there and enjoy this quaint little historic place.”
“So...1st (but NOT last) time here. The food was absolutely top notch. My husband & I split the Reuben melt Special & 2 sides (poppers & onion rings). I asked for some horseradish & Mayo on the side, so I could mix up the reuben sauce that I prefer. The staff was awesome & had no problem accommodating my request. The sandwich was one of THE BEST Reubens that I have ever had. We both had a cocktail with dinner, & they were also crafted to perfection. Compliments to the chef! The view of the sun setting over the lake was a stunning pink/orange perfection. The restaurant is receiving some upgrades, which they hope to have completed for the summer season. Can't wait to( and plan to) go back! Highly recommend you stop & check this little gem out!Parking: Maybe about 14-20 parking spots, & then some available along the road.Wheelchair accessibility: You could wheel a w/c down & into the restaurant.”
“Definitely not a brewery but definitely worth a stop! Why? Cuz it is small town America, it was packed, beer is cheap, they had a meat raffle and good old rough and tumble bearded Americans were happy and singin' Neil Diamond at the top of their lungs. My kind of place! Can't wait until our next WI wander brings us back.”
“We used Big Ed's to cater for our wedding, and the experience was great. Food was amazing, and James was great to work with. Got nothing but complements! Food was delivered on time, and was hot. Easy recommendation.”
“Third time eating here/delivery, and the food was delicious as always. Very nice and friendly staff. This time, I stopped in to eat and got the pulled pork sub with fries. The meat was moist without soaking the bread. The barbecue sauce was smokey and just the right amount of spice to it to give it kick of flavor without burning off the taste buds. I've known the owner since we were kids running around the streets of Cedar Grove. I give them 5 stars not because I know the owner but because they truly have great food and service. The only issue with this place is that the dining area is rather small. This place also delivers to Oostburg, Belgium, Lake Church, and of course Cedar Grove. Now that is service! Keep up the good work David, it's nice to see local businesses like yours keeping commerce alive in the Grove.”
“It’s been a long time. Glad to be in the old neighborhood. Food excellent atmosphere outstanding thank you for everything.Kid-friendliness: Showed the kids were dad grew up. Cascade !Wheelchair accessibility: Great ram”
“We sat and ate at the bar the guy was great help entertain our children, had a great conversation with everyone in our group you really could tell that he enjoyed his job and wanted to be there.Parking: Right before the train tracks set back off the road a little bit hard to see till you are right no top of it.Kid-friendliness: Pizza of all kinds and ice cream for dessert.”
