“2nd visit. It was a quite night, the staff informed us that was due to ”spring break”. This restaurant has a warm, fun atmosphere. We were given a “tour” of the two main floor dining rooms and learned about the history of the building and Wausau itself buy the pictures hanging on the walls. The staff was attentive. Extensive wine list, bartender gave a quick lesson of Gins (differences between London dry and botanical) to one of our guests. With spring around the corner, I enjoyed the zucchini pasta.”

This last visit was extra special because we finally got a booth! We joked that there’s a “three-visit minimum” before they grant you booth access, which only adds to the charm of the place. They have a fish fry and I treated my sister and daughter. We all had different meals off the menu. Shrimps, walleye, halibut, ribs, coleslaw, German/American potato salad, cheese curds, fresh re-read. Alll the food was piping hot, fresh, seasoned and delicious . Worth your time, and the price was right. Come on down, you'll be glad you did!!! I guarantee!!!!”

“We visited this restaurant on the advice of my friend's co-worker and were not disappointed. The prices for the food are excellent and the serving sizes large. We had the fish and shrimp, tenderloin and shrimp, and the fried chicken. All were cooked perfectly. The side cole slaw was excellent in that it had a nice flavor and was creamy. The french fries were crispy and had a light coating. The potato salad, according to my friend, was very good. We plan to visit again to try other entrees for a comparison to tonight's meal.”

We sat an hour and still nothing filled..How hard is it to fill a salad bar?The tomatoes, cheese, cottage cheese was all empty. , it was a total disaster and we had a reservation of 11 she never even had our names.”

They were incredibly professional, kind, and took full responsibility right away. They issued a full refund and even gave us a gift card, which was completely unexpected and very appreciated. Mistakes happen, but outstanding customer service like this is rare. We truly appreciate how they handled the situation and look forward to visiting in the future. Dana is great and has been doing an amazing job the 20ish years she's been there! Highly recommend labor temple and the pizza is amazing!”

“I came about 30 minutes before closing on a week night, i had come to get my best friend a matcha to cheer her up because she’s been going through a messy breakup. i ordered a tall matcha for her and a tall iced chai for me. when we got to the window, i told the barista (a younger girl around my age, unfortunately did not read her name tag) that i ordered for my friend and that she’d been going through that breakup, and asked if she could write something nice on the cup for her . she turned around and told her coworkers, (only two other young adults running the store by themselves) and told us she’d be right back with a big smile on her face. she came back to the window with my drink, and my friends, the tall matcha i ordered now being a VENTI!! for free! they had written “you’re to pretty for him queen!” on the cup and also gave us a free cake pop for her. the other two employees also came to the window and offered some kind words for her. i’m sad i can’t remember our baristas name! thank you so so much starbucks staff in rib mtn, you made me and my best friends night!! i know we came late and there wasn’t a lot of you there so it really made us happy to see you take my small ask and make it big for her! your kindness does not go unnoticed. 💚”

“We ate there tonight to celebrate my wife's ??th birthday. Our waitress was good. The food was decent. The mixed drinks were nearly sans alcohol. The rub didn't come until it was time to pay our bill. They actually charge an additional 4% to use your credit card. I realize that other eateries in our area have consorted with their fellow restaurateurs to add an additional fee to "cover their costs to do business with their credit card brokers but 4% is a new high. In the past 3 weeks my wife and I have traveled over 5,000 miles in the car on a road trip to the Pacific coastline. In the entirety of those travels, we did not find ANYBODY charging an extra fee to pay their bills at checkout. I HAVE learned, however, that the prevailing view is to simply deduct the charge card fee from your normal tip. That way, nobody is the wiser, but you didn't cover the fee; the waitstaff did. The waitstaff has no way of knowing how you NORMALLY tip, so they have no way to know that you charged them for the fee. I am generally a strong tipper. A strong tip less the fee still might look like a strong tip. So in a nutshell, if you are part of the waitstaff that charges a fee for your customer to pay their bill...........They are not paying the fee..YOU ARE! This is bad business on the part of the owner.”
