“Second time here and would come again for sure. The mushroom tartine is a must. Most if not all ingredients are locally sourced and they tell you where they come from on the menu. The wood fire pizzas are amazing and this time I tried the veggie Rueben burger which was house made from sweet potato and beet. And a side of kimchi green beans and cashews. Cool vibes, great beer. Clean and sleek but welcoming. Jordan our server was super helpful with recommendations.”

The price is reasonable, and the staff is always kind of friendly to make sure you were getting the quality that you deserve.”

“2nd visit. It was a quite night, the staff informed us that was due to ”spring break”. This restaurant has a warm, fun atmosphere. We were given a “tour” of the two main floor dining rooms and learned about the history of the building and Wausau itself buy the pictures hanging on the walls. The staff was attentive. Extensive wine list, bartender gave a quick lesson of Gins (differences between London dry and botanical) to one of our guests. With spring around the corner, I enjoyed the zucchini pasta.”

“We had a great experience at Sam’s Pizza! We ordered a classic cheese pizza along with a cauliflower crust topped with sausage and Canadian bacon. The Canadian bacon was especially good, and the cauliflower crust was surprisingly delicious—great flavor and texture.

We also started with Caesar salads, which were very tasty and a perfect way to kick off the meal.

Overall, everything was fresh, flavorful, and enjoyable. Highly recommend stopping by Sam’s Pizza! 🍕”

Last but not least, the new tap room has a great blend of Bavarian feel with a more traditional, old industrial back drop. The staff genuinely treats you like family—warm, attentive, and always smiling. It’s rare to find that kind of hospitality these days. This last visit was extra special because we finally got a booth! We joked that there’s a “three-visit minimum” before they grant you booth access, which only adds to the charm of the place. They have a fish fry and I treated my sister and daughter. We all had different meals off the menu. Shrimps, walleye, halibut, ribs, coleslaw, German/American potato salad, cheese curds, fresh re-read. Alll the food was piping hot, fresh, seasoned and delicious . Worth your time, and the price was right. Come on down, you'll be glad you did!!! I guarantee!!!!”

“We visited this restaurant on the advice of my friend's co-worker and were not disappointed. The prices for the food are excellent and the serving sizes large. We had the fish and shrimp, tenderloin and shrimp, and the fried chicken. All were cooked perfectly. The side cole slaw was excellent in that it had a nice flavor and was creamy. The french fries were crispy and had a light coating. The potato salad, according to my friend, was very good. We plan to visit again to try other entrees for a comparison to tonight's meal.”

The bartenders that worked that day/night were attentive and quick to respond to any questions we had, help any time asked, and personalities were great! While that was disappointing on such an important day, I cannot say enough good things about how the business handled it. They were incredibly professional, kind, and took full responsibility right away. They issued a full refund and even gave us a gift card, which was completely unexpected and very appreciated. Mistakes happen, but outstanding customer service like this is rare. We truly appreciate how they handled the situation and look forward to visiting in the future. “I came about 30 minutes before closing on a week night, i had come to get my best friend a matcha to cheer her up because she’s been going through a messy breakup. i ordered a tall matcha for her and a tall iced chai for me. when we got to the window, i told the barista (a younger girl around my age, unfortunately did not read her name tag) that i ordered for my friend and that she’d been going through that breakup, and asked if she could write something nice on the cup for her . she turned around and told her coworkers, (only two other young adults running the store by themselves) and told us she’d be right back with a big smile on her face. she came back to the window with my drink, and my friends, the tall matcha i ordered now being a VENTI!! for free! they had written “you’re to pretty for him queen!” on the cup and also gave us a free cake pop for her. the other two employees also came to the window and offered some kind words for her. i’m sad i can’t remember our baristas name! thank you so so much starbucks staff in rib mtn, you made me and my best friends night!! i know we came late and there wasn’t a lot of you there so it really made us happy to see you take my small ask and make it big for her! your kindness does not go unnoticed. 💚”
