Beyond Meat Burger
BC Beef Burger

“Visited on weekday afternoon for a simple lunch with my friend. We were curious about this small and clean restaurant and the menu on the window shelf looks tempting. So we decided to give it a try. And we weren't disappointed!Ordered the BC Beef Burger & Beyond Meat Burger, the ingredients taste fresh and flavourful. Except the buns of the burger were a little bit dry, says my friend. the patty was juicy and the seasoning was great, not too salty so we can taste the original flavour of the ingredients. We absolutely love the fries, it's crispy on the outside but tender and soft when biting down, and it's freshly made so it's still warm after we finished the burger. The ketchup and tartar sauce might be homemade I'm not sure, but it definitely tastes different than the commercial one. Usually I don't use too much ketchup for the fries, but I finished all the ketchup that day.Would like to visit again soon, cause I want to try out some other things on the menu.“

“Our U9 team was in town Feb 4-5 and Deb and her team were thrilled to host us - not all restaraunts would open up 3/4 of their space to that age group. Our meal and service from start to finish was simply outstanding. Highly recommend what a gem of a restaraunt.“

“Surprisingly high-quality waffles, both sweet and savoury, with plenty of vegan options that got us in the door. Beautifully-designed little cafe right on Water St, but with plenty of seating. The back page of the menu lists all the vegan options, including 4 sweet and 2 savoury. I got the Smoked Tofu ($19 plus tax) on a Liege waffle (choice between Liege or Norwegian), which is the fluffier of the two. The dish came out in about 10 minutes. You get one fluffy waffle with 5 pieces of smoked tofu, avocado and hummus, with what seemed like "Everything" spices, with a side of maple syrup. I wouldn't think the syrup would go well with this combo of ingredients, but it actually did. Despite not seeming like much food, it was plenty. I got an Americano as well ($4.75), which was pretty watery -- they need to use a lower water:espresso ratio. Very friendly and attentive service. Prices seemed a tad high, but this is Gastown after all. This place exceeded expectations.“

“After a hearty lunch, my friends and I went to Canffle to enjoy some dessert waffle. I was amazed by the selection of waffles available which ranged from savoury breakfast waffles to sandwich waffles to sweet dessert waffles. I was truly impressed at the versatility of the waffle. My friends and I shared the matcha cream croffle which was absolutely delicious. The matcha cream wasn't too sweet and not too bitter. The cream was fluffy and airy. As the name suggests, the croffle is a mix of croissant and waffle and it lived up to its name as it was flaky like a croissant, but had the shape and texture of a waffle - truly delightful. My friend was displeased with the name Canffle for 2 reasons. Firstly, she argued with her whole chest that it stood for Canadian Waffle, but in reality it just stands for Can (canned drinks ??) Waffle. Secondly, she debated that the name Canffle does not roll off the tongue appropriately. Despite not rolling off the tongue, Canffle still satisfied the taste buds on my tongue.“
