“Dated and old cafe but a hidden jewel. $8 for a homemade turkey sandwich and chicken noodle soup is cheap. The owner was nice. Will go back as no one beats his prices for soup and sandwich. Had 3 soup options the day we went. He offers a lunch dish option also. Update: I went 2 more times, but today at 11 am March 4th, we tried again. He greeted us, busy so we sat and sat and waited, never took our order. In the meantime, others ordered to go so their orders first. Finally, we left. Needs another person to work lunchtime. Too busy. Waits for food are long. He is too busy trying to do it all.“

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting The New Cairo Café, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. Nestled in the bustling heart of the city, this café is a true hidden gem for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The warm, earthy tones, soft lighting, and tasteful decor created a welcoming ambiance that made me instantly feel at home. The café was clean, well-maintained, and the attention to detail in its design was evident. The menu at The New Cairo Café offers a delightful fusion of flavors, blending both local and international cuisines. I opted for the Mediterranean platter, which featured a mouthwatering assortment of falafel, hummus, tabbouleh, and freshly baked pita bread. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with authentic flavors that transported my taste buds to the Mediterranean coast. The presentation was impeccable, showcasing the kitchen's dedication to aesthetics and taste.“
“This place is a hidden gem in Vancouver! We ordered two sandwiches - Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Pesto, both were really tasty. There was a lot of filling in the sandwiches and the bread was lovely too. The beef sausages rolls were really good too.Great value for money too, if you are in the local area would highly recommend ordering from this place.“

“Korean run coffee shop across the street from Brentwood Mall. It's tucked away on Buchanan (N side of the building). Not sure how long they've been there, but I found it by accident. Parking is pretty atrocious here unless it's after 2000, at which point the street parking becomes free. The inside is clean and modern and looks like something a bit like a fairy tale. The interior is pretty quiet, which is great for chatting. Staff are friendly and helpful. The coffee I had was pretty decent. This place also sells cakes and other pastries. The cakes definitely looked interesting, as they are concave at the top, as if someone squished a salad bowl into them before baking. I didn't try any and so can't comment on the taste. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point.“

“We got the hometown favorite latte and an iced Americano and loved both drinks! The barista was really friendly, great at making coffee and gave us good service when we were not sure about our order. The drinks themselves were unique, the hometown favorite had a great, simple twist on a latte and the spring menu's vanilla cardamon latte sounds incredible too. It's located in the food court in case anyone has difficulty finding this location, definitely worth trying.“

“Very cute and cozy place to sit and enjoy. The lady is warm and welcoming, just tell her what you want and she can recommend to you. All drinks and food are come in great portion, that are good enough to feed you up. I highly recommend the iced fruit tea and green tea with salty cream cheese foam. They are fresh and delightful.“

“I visited yesterday during my lunch break and ordered a tuna sandwich, a Nanaimo bar, and an iced latte. I was pleasantly surprised! Often at other places, you can tell when ingredients like cucumber or lettuce are not the freshest. However, everything here tasted freshly made, including the onions! The Nanaimo bar also had a homemade freshness, unlike the store-bought or mass-produced varieties. I would definitely recommend this place—a solid 10/10!“

“This is my second favorite cafe after Nemesis. The decor is chic, the staff are friendly, coffee is pretty good and the pastries and bread are delicious. The barista is good with latte art. My friend got a swan in his mocha which was absolutely gorgeous. Sadly I forgot to take a picture.“
“First time here, couple of weeks ago. They have lots of choices for an indulgence with coffee or tea. It is a small cafe.Seating was on the outside front patio. Nothing in the restaurant. That means eat/ drink standing if you don’t want to be in the sun.We hade cheese cake. It was good.“

“Excellent food, desserts, and coffee. Clean and modern decòr. There is a tall mirror at the end of the halls where the bathrooms are. A pretty nice selfie spot.Due to covid, the system for eating in or taking out is quite confusing. I wish they would ask us if we what customers would like to do as we felt awkward standing around and trying to figure out how to get seats. That is our only complaint.Otherwise, excellent quality and service.“

“The drinks are amazing! Came here because no where to sit at nearby JJ Bean and so glad happened upon Guulu. Their specialty drinks are carefully designed and each one made to perfection. Really worth it if want something different. Their coffee - oh my - some of the best I have ever tasted - so smooth. Such a great coffee/specialty drink experience! Have been back several times and plan to continue.“
“This location is pretty hidden within this industrial business area. So it may take some trial and error to find it. It's also a pretty small location, but still has the same amazing jj bean coffee and baked goods. Even though it's about a 5-10 minute drive past my work, its worth the extra commute!“
“Came for the plants and stayed for the breakfast! Most excellent Eggs Benedict and the garden seating area was delightful.“
“Big Shots Cafe offers a variety of sandwiches, pastries, warm beverages, and a wide range of ice cream. They have a large seating area with TV and two bathrooms. I love the large open space they have for seating as I go in there during their non-peak times because I can't enjoy myself when it's too busy. I have ordered Hot Chocolate and Grilled Cheese Sandwich, which I absolutely loved! Their hot coco came in a fancy cup and the grilled cheese was soo butter with crispy edges and soft bread in the center. Mmm! I had to come back to back because I loved the combo so much! I bring all my friends here now! The bathrooms are always clean every time I visit. The front women are super friendly and they take their time making food for their customers.“

“I bought their blueberry green tea with coconut jelly. I like mine half sweet with less ice. It was one of the best bubble teas I’ve ever had! The flavour was amazing. The coconut jelly was outstanding and it cost less than six dollars. It was like $5.47.“

“This adorable cafe is tucked inside the Gardenworks shop. The bright, casual dining area exudes a relaxing vibe.Tried the Smoked Salmon Benedict and Bacon & Eggs breakfast: both were simply prepared but hit the spot. Special shoutout to the potato bites - fluffy insides with crispy outer layer, perfectly satisfying my carb craving.Service from the friendly staff was efficient without being overbearing. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality. The only hiccup was finding the Lobster Bisque a touch too rich and salty for my liking. After brunching, I browsed the plant selection next door which is top-notch. Ended up bringing home some beautiful blooms to spruce up for CNY.In summary, this hidden gem is a fantastic low-key destination whether you want a tranquil pre-shop meal or a post-shopping retreat. Recommend stopping by if you find yourself in the area of Burnaby. The café is a wonderful addition complementing the gorgeous garden center.———————————-IG: #roamardtheworldMusic credit: Sitting in a cafe, bequemmusic“

“I really enjoyed my experience. The Cantonese-speaking owners have a really well-run operation for a small team. The cafe is well-maintained and offers a vintage vibe. I stopped in for breakfast and my coffee was constantly refilled, condimentswere brought without needing to be requested, food was reasonably priced, quality was so-so with the hash browns. What really impressed me was the community vibe - there were a lot of local regulars right at opening - one of their regulars helped set up the patio set outside and they were catching up with their friends for a regular meet up. The lady who was serving everyone remembered multiple orders of her regulars and was very warm and welcoming to everyone in both English & Cantonese. She never stopped moving - getting coffee prepared, taking orders, delivering orders, checking in, gossiping with her regulars, coordinating with her husband in the kitchen or manning the till. The husband chef was constantly cooking and also managed to step out for a quick chat with some regulars while grabbing some coffee.Came for the food but stayed for the positive vibes to kick off a busy weekend. Overall, well done!Parking: Spots right out front, plenty of parking available for a Saturday morning“

“My family and I stopped here last Saturday after lunch. We came in for a coffee /chai latte fix that day. We ordered Latte, coffee and Chai Latte. I personally found Chai Latte to be sweet and ended up not liking it. Coffee and latte were good. Please do not order Chai Latte here it tasted too sugary.I changed my mind after one sip and felt sorry to ask for a refund. Surprisingly the staff gave me a difference after getting a roast coffee. Service was fast and friendly here. I’ve never tried their pies, but will have to try them on the next visit.“

“One of the best matcha lattes I’ve had! Also was my first time trying a soufflé pancake and it DID NOT disappoint! It was so delicious and a large portion. Would be great for sharing as I had to take some home to finish it. Highly recommend this cute cafe for breakfast!“
