“Huku Japanese Bistro has some of the freshest fish in Davis. Their rolls are flavorful and beautiful presented. I strongly recommend the Rainbow roll, and the Christmas Eve roll, as well as the calamari, garlic edamame and pretty much everything else on the menu.“

“Very cute little store! They sell a lot of Asian snacks and goodies here, and they have a pretty wide variety for you to look at too! The prices are reasonable for the most part, but their instant ramen is definitely a bit pricier than most places. They're the only place in Davis that sells the instant hot pot kits for a reasonable price (~$10 last I checked), and those are a good treat on a hot winter's day! The store itself is also very well organized, and the bags that you have the option of purchasing when you check out are very high quality (reuse them as gift bags!). I'm docking a star just because some of the prices for some of their snacks seem a bit higher than they need to be. Also because they sell anime girl mousepads that seem out of place for an Asian snack store? Just a bit inappropriate and distasteful to me, but maybe I'm weird for not finding those types of mousepads fun.“

“We've been dining at Zen Toro since their downtown location, then followed them to Davis. The owner, Masa and his wife were always so friendly and accommodating....Not to mention that the food was always Excellent! Now their son Scott and his wife Amy run the restaurant and continue to deliver Delicious food. We live in Sacramento and never hesitate to drive to Davis to eat at Zen Toro when we're in the mood for delicious Japanese food!!“

“One of our favorite AYCE sushi places. I like the method of marking what you want on a little menu card, rather than other sushi places where you have to walk over to the bar to order or flat down a waiter. The calamari appetizer is the best!“

“I used to love this place back when I was a student. Davis has a lot of ayce sushi but this one was always my favorite - their rolls are really unique. My all time favorite used to be the dynamite - with the creamy sauce and grilled fish being the star of the show. The server was surprised I asked about it since it's not on their lunch menu anymore but mentioned it is available during dinner. The closest thing I got was the lion king roll which was pretty similar in terms of the fish but not the same dynamite sauce. Loved everything I ordered and had to end the day with the donuts.“

“They made two beautiful and generous sushi platters for a party. Worked with me to select rolls for a picky crowd. I wish I’d taken pictures, but they got eaten too fast! The owners are always there working. It’s a small, local family-run place and they take care of you. I’m so happy they moved to the Lake Blvd location. Super convenient, don’t have to deal with finding parking downtown.“
