“Went here for the night last Thursday, the DJ was awesome!! Playing some classics I hadnt heard in awhile and really got the room going. Got a moscow mule that was perfectly made as well. The outdoor area is a nice place to hangout and talk as well, with heaters and everything. Would recommend if you are looking for a place to chill and have a great time! Great music!!“

“We had a great time here. It was a busy Saturday evening. We didn’t make reservations so we were glad to get standing room near the bar. We had heard the cocktails are great and they are. We started with the Alpine Sour and a non-alcoholic drink. Absolutely delicious. The bar tender Manny was excellent. Manny also made us a fantastic paper plane (not on the menu) and another cocktail.“

California Gold Cocktail Bar • $
848 B St, San Rafael - 3.4 miles

“Atmosphere: Solid and funBar Service: Kind, interesting, professionalsDrinks: Costly (but craft cocktails can be, so expected), my drink was cloyingly sweet, my friend's drink was more of a savory thing, and one of the rum drinks was great.UPDATE:Within 1 hour the owner of the bar contacted me about the experience with the drink I had ordered. He offered an apology, which I appreciated but was unnecessary, as I should have been better about saying something during my visit, rather than in a public review. This was customer service at its best, and that I appreciate. Upon reflection my drink may have just been a bartender error, and everybody has an off day.As the atmosphere and employees are amazing, and the vibe a solid 100, and now management reacting in a meaningful way to a petty complaint, I am boosting to 5 stars across the board.Go see for yourself what caring about your customers, and their experience is all about. Cheers!“

“We had friends coming to visit from Arizona and wanted to take them somewhere special for dinner. We heard about the newly reopened Paseo in Mill Valley and decided to try it. We were welcomed by the friendly manager Kevin as we entered. After giving us a tour we were seated in the main dining room by a cozy fireplace. We ordered cocktails along with a charcuterie board and roasted Brussels sprouts. At the recommendation of our knowledgeable waiter Will, my sister and I ordered the beet salad. One of our guests had the Market Green Salad and another raved about her Potato Leek Soup. Wanting to try different entrees we ordered California Halibut, Braised Osso Busco, Mary's Chicken Breast, Rib Eye Steak, and Roasted Duck Breast with orange glaze. The taste and presentation exceeded our expectations. As we were enjoying coffee along with Chocolate Indulgence, a (layered torte) and a Peanut Crunch Bar, Chef Branden approached our table to see how we enjoyed our meal. We all told him how much we enjoyed the food, his beautiful presentation, and the smiling staff. We had a great five star experience and will definitely be back!“

“Mother's Day brunch was delightful: excellent food, beautiful views, and lovely waitress. Hoping without the holiday we wouldn't encounter the issues we did and could award a full 5 stars. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Cost to worth it rating: 3 (typically $49 for 2 courses for brunch) Opentableable: yes Return worthiness: yes Highlights: - Lobster toast: loved this Asian flair with such savory crunchy goodness. Minced lobster with a sesame toasty block topped with a full slice of a jalapeno for heat and crunch. 5 stars - Crabcake: poached egg was perfectly runny and warm on top of a nice meat filled crabcake--not a bunch of breadcrumbs--and a anchored with extra delicious plump green asparagus. 5 stars - Chocolate parfait was a thick chocolate mousse with a coconut macaroon on top with a thick caramel. Rich, decadent, and smooth. Excellent way to end the meal. 5 stars - Parker house rolls: warm and soft with salt crystals on top (comes with the soup but I ordered it as a side). 5 stars - Steak au poivre: nicely cooked filet and solid sauce. 4 stars. - Caesar salad: huge leaves with a pile of cheese. 3.5 stars. - Kids menu: nice they have options and my son enjoyed his burger and fries. - Vibrant lively atmosphere: Beatles music playing, bustling inside, and nice energy outside as well - Views of the water: from the outside table you're right by the ferry dock and the water. - Waitress: Cat was wonderful, so charming, checked in. and showed she cared about our experience. - Delicious unique w cocktails: loved my colorful milk punch with Jamaican rum and light foam and another with egg white and a pretty purple flower. Lowlights: - Seated over 20 min past our reservation time even though they have a rule that they will hold your table only for 15. Besides passing around some deviled eggs which my family doesn't eat no other items were offered for our inconvenience. - Called to confirm multiple times: weeks prior as well as day before but still didn't seem prepared for the crowds. - Big gap between courses (over 30 minutes) . If we weren't enjoying the view and cocktails so much this would have been an issue. - Same menu as online but $10 more for mother's day and didn't see any special items they said would be added but items removed my husband was interested in. - We came the night before as they advertise on their website they are open til midnight Friday and Saturday as "the only place to be late night in Tiburon" but before 10 they were doing last call. It was my friend's birthday party night and we had identified this as the location for everyone from out of town to gather here afterwards. - Sunset sips: pretty much a happy hour 4-6pm but only in the bar and 21 only which we had planned on for a mid day snack. Food, drinks, and atmosphere made it a wonderful mother's day brunch and I would come back to spend time here again,“

The staff was super friendly and they even gave our kids crayons/activities.The food was excellent. My wife is hard to please when eating out…she was impressed with the flavor, presentation and quality of food. Best tortillas. The kids loved their chicken burritos and my Enchiladas plate was delicious. We had the Ice cream Sunday to top it off.The food and staff here are top notch. All smiles and such a great vibe. “My husband & I used to be regulars at this restaurant until we moved out of Fairfax and further north so it's been a while since I have been here. I went last night for dinner with my sister and we had a fantastic meal. The server was very attentive and patient. He was great answering our questions and held one of the appetizers she had ordered to keep it warm until I arrived. Very nice. The only thing is that now that I'm vegetarian, there weren't a lot of pasta options and I ended up with a margarita pizza. It was yummy so no complaints, but I would love it if some restaurants in Marin would start to make more of an effort for vegetarians and vegans, especially since more and more people are going at least partially plant based. I have to say that it is the running joke for me with my friends that when we go out to eat, I have the choice of a mushroom dish as an entree unless I decide to do salads or apps. There are so many other things to do for plant based appetites than mushrooms and butternut squash. And I feel like Italian should be one of those restaurants that can really do a nice job with non-meat dishes. Okay, that being said, we had a great time, the apps and wine were delicious and the dessert, Tartuffo, was as delicious as I had remembered.“

Viking Cocktail Lounge Cocktail Bar • $
7377 Redwood Blvd, Novato - 8.41 miles

“A dive bar in downtown Novato, with all the ambience you'd expect of such an establishment. The host of characters at the bar certainly contributed. We were more interested in having beers than cocktails, but the draught beer selection was pretty dismal (5 beers on tap, and one of the taps was broken). They did have Lagunitas, which we all opted for. Okay, the name of the place does say "Cocktail Lounge," so I guess we can't get too uppity about the beer selection. The place was really quiet for a Saturday night. The bartender even commented that it was slow for a Saturday. What that meant for us was that we had the pool tables to ourselves and had a blast playing multiple rounds. (At $1 a game, no complaints!) The bartender was really nice, but would sometimes disappear for a while to go grab a smoke outside (with some of the other patrons). We were pretty chill, so didn't mind waiting, but I could see others might be cranky about it. All and all, a bar reminiscent of establishments you might have oft seen in the 70s and 80s. We were feeling a little nostalgic, I suppose. We're likely to go back.“

“First time here - ordered the shrimp burrito and the guacamole de la casa. The burrito - really good! The guac - well, extremely bland and overpriced at $13.00. The place was busy and seems to be a local favorite in Mill Valley. For us - good entree, menu a bit pricey, and on top of that...we have to pay a living wage fee of 3.5%??? What??? Hopefully this goes to the staff. May be back - but only for happy hour to keep the overall cost down!“

“Visited Tamalpie Sunday afternoon after a hike in Tiburon and was pleasantly surprised. They have a cozy outdoor seating area with a fire pit which is very nice. We ordered the calamari and Caesar salad to start. The Caesar was very good, but on the heavier side with dressing. We ordered the Tenderfoot and Railroad Grade pizzas, which balanced one another out perfectly. The Tenderfoot was a white sauce with mushrooms, while the Railroad Grade had your typical tomato sauce and provided the right amount of saltiness with the pepperoni. Loved that the pizza was super thin crust, yet held its form with a nice crisp. Would definitely come again if in the area!“
