“The service was excellent! The waiting time even with a reservation was a little long but there was a lot of people and it is understandable, but the full experience left me a lot to be desired on this occasion since we were not able to taste what was agreed upon, perhaps Either the weekends are a little crowded and they couldn't afford the cuts or they were very overdue but... the ANCHO WAGYU* (RIBEYE) was what saved the night!, this cut of meat matured for 21 days and cooked on a salt stone was a new experience and I really recommend it, for the rest I would advise going on a weekday.”

“This is a review of my first (but not last!) visit out to Charlie's. After seeing the great reviews on Yelp, we decided to take a trip out to visit. Immediately we were greeted warmly by Charlie who asked if we'd visited before and that we hadn't, how we found him. He then mentioned his belief that you can't buy something without trying it first and let us each try one each! We ended up buying a 12 pack of the minis and asked if it was possible to swap out one of the flavors for another. Charlie didn't hesitate and simply added one of the ones we wanted to swap in! Before we left, Charlie kindly told us how to best store and serve them. As we left, we both agreed that we'd be back for both the tasty cheesecake bites as well as to se Charlie again!”

“Food was 10/10! I was craving Vietnamese food and came across this place on Yelp! It's located inside a food court where the Lion Plaza is. It's cash only and the price is $20! They only have one thing on the menu and it's a Bò Né aka Shaken Beef Sizzling Plate! I thought everything was so good! The bread was so soft, warm, and fresh. The salad was beautifully dressed in a sweet vinegar sauce. The pate created a nice salty taste to add onto the bread and eggs. The beef was so tender and was paired nicely with a sweet sauce. The onions create, not only a nice crunch to the dish, but also enhances the flavor to the whole thing! I really liked the chili oil as well! I think this whole meal was very well worth the price and it's very filling too! The meal also comes with hot tea! I didn't really get to experience the service, but it was quick and simple! You just order and pick up when it's ready. The place is also open seating so you can sit anywhere. Overall, I would love to eat here again!”

“Came here with a 4 other coworkers for lunch. This is my to go place, a vegan-only restaurant close to my work and probably the only one close by to San Jose airport area. So I suggested this place to my coworkers.Charlene greeted us and provided us with the menu and also gave us suggestions about what is very popular. She was an excellent host! Thanks for snapping our group picture as well! This place is small but very cozy. There is probably enough seating for maybe 15 or so people indoors and several more outdoors.Food is very delicious.I love that there are so many options here from Italian cuisine (pasta, etc), to American (burgers, fries), boba, ice cream and so much more.I always enjoy supporting such excellent vegan only, cruelty free businesses and would definitely recommend this one to others in this area.Vegetarian options: It’s vegan only so think of it as vegetarian but without dairy and honey and all that jazz.Dietary restrictions: Vegan only restaurant. They also have no onion and non garlic items marked on the menu.Ask the owner about any other allergies or restrictions like gluten or nuts.Parking: This is in a shopping complex so parking is very easy to find.Kid-friendliness: They have kid friendly menu options: like waffles, ice cream and the like.”

KV Noodle 1162 E William Ct, San Jose Vietnamese • $

“My colleague wanted pho for her birthday dinner because she was craving so I happened to find this place in downtown SJ; a plus, it opens late compared to the other pho spots. The ambiance is clean, modern, and spacious. There is even a bar for drinks, had I known I would have had drinks here before going to a bar. There wasn't many people dining during the week but our server, Kathy, was quite attentive to us even though we asked her to come back three times since my friend and I were catching up. The food is very delicious and portions were fairly sized. For appetizers, it was our first time having taro egg rolls and they were delicious although I wish there were more than just 3 (priced $8). I ordered brisket pho and my friend ordered wonton soup with yellow noodle. My broth was delicious; clear and not cloudy. The meat portions were fairly portioned in my pho and I was happy with it! I ordered chicken chow fun for take out for my husband. He said it was good but needed more chicken, so next time, I think its better to have in person rather than ordering to go. Overall, service and food were decent and better than many of pho places around. KV Noodle is probably one of the top ones in downtown SJ. Thank you to our server Kathy who was great and surprised my friend with a smoothie for her birthday. Exceptional service! I will definitely be back :)”

I assumed this machine is new here at SJC, I recall another customer mentioned it's new, she wanted to give it a try but didn't have enough time before her flight. "Disclaimer", Before ordering you will have to consent to the product that is served hot and the soup content may scald, to avoid serious harm you are aware of using this product. From experience the bowl of noodles really comes out HOT, so please be careful. There are alot of noodle soup choices to choose from, even rice bowls. Taiwan beef noodle soup, Tantanmen, Black garlic tonkatsu ramen with soft boil egg, vegan udon, Tokyu shoyu ramen, spicy kimchi pork ramen, & Vietnamese beef pho. Some items were sold out. The prices for ramen varies and will tell you once you click on the item. We ended up trying the spicy kimchi pork bowl which is $13.99, total with tax $15.30, paid via credit card, my son and I was surprised at how this machine's ability to make our ramen. It was making a cool sound, while the machine was preparing our bowls. The only junk part about enjoying this bowl, it is hard to eat sitting down, w/no tables. We were lucky we saw an empty counter which we got to set the bowl down for photos. ( it is covered with plastic and lid) I love the little utensil kit with mini chop sticks, fork, spoon, and napkin, comes in a box. Overall, the bowl came out as pictured, kim chi, half cooked egg, pork belly, it tasted pretty good, a little on the salty side. I loved that it was piping hot, compared to some ramen shop the ramen comes out lukewarm and the broth is hot coming out of a vending machine. Wow! I can't wait to check out this machine again when we fly out of SJC during our future trips. I want to see how the rice bowl is and try the other ramen flavors. Yo-Kai Express is between Gate 33-34, kind of out of the way if you are not boarding near this gate, but worth the experience to give it a try. I am glad we got to check out this vending machine for the very first time, Technology is super cool!!”

“Stopped by Sunday afternoon to check this place out and took advantage of their buy 5 get 1 free deal because I like to get two drinks for myself! Great ambiance, decor, and music. Love the mirror in front of the flower wall to make sure you look on point! The drinks we ordered were the strawberry matcha latte, butterfly lemonade, Thai milk tea, peach green tea and a basic jasmine tea. Jasmine was very simple with no sweetener. I like that. The milk used in most of their drinks are lactose free friendly, so you know what won't happen The peach green tea was sweet but still good. If you like a tarty lemonade, the butterfly lemonade is perfect for you. My bf and his son loves it. The strawberry matcha was delicious the matcha was not overpowering and had the perfect amount of strawberry flavor in it. The Thai milk tea was sweet but not too sweet. My stepson enjoyed his sweet brown sugar matcha. Soooo we popped in for six more drinks yesterday night. Only this time I changed ordered haidee's perfect matcha instead of the Thai milk tea. I wanted to try something different. Service was great and staff was friendly! Only con is the sweetness and ice level options.”

“Having read all the raving reviews, my expectations from this place were very high. We got the Bonda soup and the pani puri. The panipuri tasted good, not exceptional, but alright. What was disappointing was the quantity of filling offered. It wasn’t enough for all the puris. Maybe if we had more filling to spare for each puri, the taste would have been elevated. We were trying bonda soup for the first time, so we don’t know what to compare it to. But we weren’t impressed. The Bonda ‘batter’ separated from the fried crust on putting it in the soup. So we were eating the ‘batter’ with soup and the crust with soup, separately. Not a great experience. This was the place I was most looking forward to on our trip to San Jose and sadly, I am disappointed by it.”

It really feels like the baristas here genuinely want to make you feel at home.2) Lots of seating which is usually rare at popular coffee shops. Being in SP Square means you can easily grab some good food if you need a lunch break and don’t want to move your car.3) Free cup of coffee with unlimited refills if you buy a bag of whole beans.4) Free 90 minutes of parking without the need of validation.Only downside of this place is that it can sometimes feel like a McDonald’s play land with how many parents let their kids run around screaming. However, off late their weekend crowd is unbelievable! So much so that they don't pick calls to take orders on these days! “Clean, festive, and incredibly delicious! I tried the calimari the first time, a quick stop, and was impressed with the clean, lovely restaurant, the service, and the incredibly perfect appetizer. With a little more time today, I decided to try the dine-in experience... even better! The chips and delicious house salsa are accompanied by a generous portion of lime... trust me, a few drops of lime unified and elevated this simple appetizer. Care was obviously taken when choosing this combination, and the chips were hearty and flavorful; possibly stone-ground? The shrimp are fresh, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with decadent flavor. Add the excellent produce and incredible sauce and you have a can't miss experience... the lowly shrimp is elevated to VIP status here, carefully prepared and paired with incredible fresh produce carefully prepared. Hands down the best tacos camerones I have ever had. Run, don't walk, to try this cozy, beloved restaurant just off Saratoga. You will thank me, I promise you!”

“I love how you can watch the chefs cook your food in the woks in their "open" kitchen. The only downside is I smelled pretty smoky afterwards. I stopped by in a group of 2 on a Saturday night for a small dinner. It wasn't too crowded inside with many free tables, although there were many people who picked up delivery/takeout orders during my meal. We got the mapo tofu ($13.99), stir-fried string beans with pork ($15.99), and a bowl of rice each ($2/ea). The mapo tofu came on this sizzling plate that kept it hot the whole time! The tender pieces of tofu were swimming in a savory sauce that had a numbing kick. The pieces of pork in this dish were pretty small and added some umami flavor to the dish, but the tofu was the star of the show. I am glad we ordered rice to soak up all the tasty sauce! The stir-fried string beans had a lot of peppery flavor and were nicely blistered on the surface. Although the string beans were glistening on the surface they did not feel or taste too greasy. The pork in this dish was saltier than in the mapo tofu and at times was a bit too salty for me. I wouldn't have minded the dish without the pork and might even try ordering it without pork next time. The servers are kind and attentive. The seating area is not the fanciest but this is a great spot for a casual and tasty meal!”

The net egg rolls (must try!!) have such a slight and delicate crisp, making every bite so satisfying! Their pho dac biet was so aromatic and packed with meat! The fried chicken rice plate was so tender and paired so well with the fish sauce for a burst of umami flavor! Their taro salad was something I've never tried before, and was so tasty! The fried taro balances well with the tanginess of the salad and so addicting to eat! And lastly the shaking beef was so juicy and flavorful and loved the sauce! The portions are so generous! The restaurant itself is very cute and clean! We loved the lantern decor! We received great service and were informed about the popular menu items. Overall it's a fantastic spot to dine with family and friends! There are so many restaurants in Vietnam Town, and it can be so hard to pick where to eat, but you definitely want to check this spot out! We will definitely be back! Since it's located in a busy plaza, parking can get crazy especially during the lunch hour. But since people are coming and going for lunch, it's fairly easy to find a parking spot. There's also a parking garage in the very back of the plaza, very close to Pho This Way!”

“All my Korean dreams come true and just down the street from me! Highly recommend you check them out and support their small business. We came here on a whim and I'm so glad we did. I've been craving Korean food and I'm so happy this place is so close to me. They've only been open for 6 months. Plenty of parking in the lot or on the street. The lady who took our order and served us is so cute and sweet. She doesn't speak English too well, but she was working hard and she was the only one front of the house! She takes care of all the patrons, the Doordash orders, the to go orders, refill waters, check you out, etc. We ordered the spicy braised short ribs, spicy beef stew, and the veggie pancake. Both were not spicy but tasted amazing! My husband said the stew is his fave soup of all time! The beef is shredded and it comes with glass noodles. I normally don't like seafood pancakes, but the veggie one here was fried to perfection. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The braised short ribs had great flavor. I do wish the meat was more tender, but it's still a solid dish. They don't skimp on the ban chan and they were all good. They'll give you refills if you ask too. This place isn't cheap for being on the East Side, but I think prices are on par with other Korean restaurants. We're happy to be back because the food was fire and staff were so friendly.”

I love the tonkatsu udon but the salmon spinach and uni udon are great too if you like seafood. You may also want to try their curry udon to compare it to the curry udon served at an international chain located nearby, which I find far inferior. As for sides, It is also a good idea to add their poached egg or "seasoned boiled egg" as that can make or break a meal. They provide shichimi spice at no additional cost which also makes the udon more flavorful imo.I am taking off one star because some of the appetizers I have tried before were average, especially the onigiri and the service can be a hit or miss.”

T4 Almaden Valley 6950 Almaden Expy, San Jose Bubble Tea • $

“First time after new ownership. First they do not keep the points so we lost them. Overall it's as good as before, the tables are now much cleaner as are the floors. There really is no other place around here to get tea and snacks, compared to other places the tea is not as good but it is decent. The calamari and popcorn chicken were excellent, crispy and tasty.Service was fine, one tea came out much slower than the others.”

“Omggggg the food is sooooo good!!! Can't wait to go back, it's super loud in there, and service isn't that great, they never come back to the table so when you go make sure you're calling them over for refills and more drinks!! Their $5 palomas are delicious, get a few!! Just letting you all know the truth, but I highly recommend you still go and eat there!! It's honestly the best food so far, and I'm very picky!!!”

Wow the Sommelier was so helpful and knowledgeable about all kinds of different wines. How they taste where they are grown, and a little history. Thanks team. “Overall, very good experience in a wonderful setting. Santana Row is a replica of a European Main Street with shopping, restaurants and residences, with outside seating in the closed street.Left Bank Brasserie has an upscale menu of cocktails and food, with a focus on French food. The food was very good but in France, which has very high culinary standards, would probably rate 3 stars instead of 4 here. Little details like the thickness of bread in the French Onion soup were just off a bit. They specialize in cocktails so we were surprised at the bright red color of our Boulevardier...it did not have that darker hue from the bourbon which also tasted like it was missing. Other cocktails sampled were very good however. This place won't transport you back to France if you are looking for their 5-star cuisine, however it does make an excellent facsimile and the food plus setting is a wonderful experience.Parking: There is a large parking garage that was within a 5 minute walk. It was a weeknight and the garage was free but it was almost filled up.”

L.B. Steak - Santana Row 334 Santana Row #1000, San Jose Steak House • $$$$

“We had a wonderful experience at LB Steak the other night, the atmosphere was great, not too stuffy and perfect for a DateNight! They have a pretty extensive wine list, and from what I could see, the Bar looked pretty well stocked too. We ordered a couple glasses of the Benton Lane Pinot Noir, which was delicious and then decided to order a whole bottle. My husband had the Boneless Ribeye and I had the petite Filet Mignon, both meats were juicy and tender, cooked to perfection. It definitely satisfied our “steak jones” we ordered the Mac and Cheese to share, which is served “Family style.” Let me tell you, I would go back just for another helping of the Mac and Cheese, it was so yummy, the noodles were cooked perfectly and the cheese blend was amazing! We loved everything about the Mac and Cheese! We ended our night with dessert, I had the fruit Crème Brûlée and my husband had the Chocolate Molten Cake and both were outstanding! Perfect yummy ending to a perfect evening!”

Best Hawaiian BBQ 2638 Union Ave, San Jose Barbeque • $

“Casual hawaiian eatery located in the Maplewood Plaza. Bright space with wooden chairs and tables inside, and a few tables outside too. Employee took my order at the front counter (standard service), though there's a self-order kiosk as well. Order was ready in 5-10 minutes, no other customers at the time. Got the mini loco moco, and the meat, gravy, mac salad, everything was flavorful and satisfying... the mini size was sufficient for a filling meal. Based on taste, I'd say this would be one of my top 2 hawaiian spots in the south bay.”
