“My first review! My visit here last night was nothing short of a revelation in the art of sushi dining. Celebrating its 17th year, this gem of a restaurant has not just stood the test of time; it has set the bar for what authentic Japanese cuisine can embody. Though it is not your modern izakaya nor fine-dining luxury, it firmly facets itself as the "OG" restaurant in the diverse Japanese dining scene. Immediately upon entering, I observed details of its classic entity by old decos of art, calligraphy, signs, photos, and handwritten notes. It was an ambiance that exuded warmth. I immediately felt the history and dedication woven into the fabric of this place. The owners have crafted not merely a restaurant but a sanctuary for those who appreciate the finer nuances of Japanese culture and cuisine. I opted for the sushi combo course. Each piece of sushi was a testament to the chef's mastery over his craft, with every ingredient shining through in a delicate balance of flavors and textures with a properly curated course. All the nigiri boasted freshness in a blend of tastes that was above satisfactory by the plate. But what truly sets Sushi Anza apart is the heart and soul poured into every aspect of the dining experience. “The quality of the food was top-notch, and the service by Mariel was wonderful! I had the usual Wasabi Tuna Salad today and it was as delicious and as not-over-cooked as before, which is the reason I keep coming back: the consistent top-quality! I highly recommend this restaurant!“

“When I say the catfish and macaroni salad is ???? believe me. Best fish market I've had in long while and the prices are very reasonable during this time. I would say the only thing I don't care for is the lunch specials not being available all day, but the owners are lovely ppl tho so I approve with a A++“

“Surprisingly really loved the crunch roll ! The shrimp on top was fried in the same seasoned batter & really added a nice taste! The pieces of sole I ordered were very thin however i think If i didn't request for them to be "fried hard" it would've been ok, so that's on me. Would def try again :)“

“The food is very good! Always cooked fresh and cooked however you prefer your order. The wait times are also great. I never wait more than 10 minutes for my food. The environment when you dine in is very calm and relaxing. I mostly choose to stay and eat my food. George is also a great employee there. He makes sure you are well taken care of and makes the process of ordering food or picking up your food very smoothly. He has a great personality and is always a great face to see when I come.“

“I've tried many local fish and chips. Most of them are very very good but the one at Crazy Fish on PCH (in front of Chevron) is just out of this world. I had it last month, and I wanted to have it a second time before issuing a public praise. I went today and those guy sure met my expectations! The fish is lean, with the right amount of batter that is not soaked in oil and does not flake off the fish, the chips are cooked to perfection and everything is served scorching hot. All this in a clean location and served with a smiling service! Five starts and thumbs up!“

“I'm giving this place 4/5. The chicken had a Cajun spice that they put on the outside of the breading. Over the chicken wasn't the best but good. The line was kinda long but the food was affordable. I had a 2 pc, small Cajun rice, small soda and sweet potato pie for about $9. The sweet potato pie was great! I'll be coming back for sure, however this is located in the hood.“

“I think most restaurants use some kind of inexpensive fish with the thought that once it's breaded and fried, no one will care. But the Slow Bell's haddock was thick, moist, and cooked just right. The fries were so good bare that I felt guilty using ketchup.“

“I make it a point to eat here at least once a month. I love that it's so old school. Such a large menu but you know the fish your getting without having to choose from 5 different fish. This is not fast food the family is respectable and takes their time to make sure your order is done right. Will update with photos on the next visit.“

“I recently revisited Don's Chicken and Fish and was pleasantly surprised! My initial experience was a bit underwhelming, but this time the food was truly awesome. The flavors were spot-on, and everything from the crispy chicken to the perfectly seasoned fish left me impressed. I highly recommend giving this place a try--it's definitely worth a second look! Parking could be very difficult. The pricing for the fish combo I got wasn't too bad. I got a piece of fried chicken on the side. If you're looking for takeout, only this place is great they indoor seating the place looks like it needs a little updating. Service was just OK!!!“

“I ordered a three piece lunch with catfish. I also ordered an order of fried okra. I've never eaten here before, but it's kind of a hole in the wall, and I have found that most holes in the wall have the best food! I was greeted warmly, and my order was taken took about 15 minutes. When I got my food, I was very happy. It looked exactly like what I wanted it to look like and then I took my first bite after dipping it in tartar sauce and I was ecstatic. It was delicious it hit the spot perfectly. The tartar sauce was delicious. They only gave me one and I had to go back and get another three pieces of fish really demands to tartar sauce is I went back and expecting to pay for it and he gave it to me. Don't think that they're going to do that for everybody though I was a first time customer you know and I would have paid for another one. The fish is cooked perfectly. The only thing I would say is a little bit more seasoning maybe some lemon pepper but the fish was good and tender. I ordered catfish and it was banging! When and if I am in the area, I will go there again!“

“I decided to eat at this restaurant to try seafood dishes in Fisherman's Village. The atmosphere of the restaurant is above average. Despite some flies hanging out in the tree near the restaurant, I can still see the scenic view from where we sat. For the food, I ordered a lobster roll with french fries, panzerotti (fried pizza), and Raspberry Ice Tea. I am still unsure whether the lobster roll is genuinely lobster due to the lobster-crayfish scandal shown in Inside Edition, but it tasted delicious, creamy, and fresh from the sea. I am highly confident the lobster roll genuinely contains real lobster. The panzerotti was hot when touching this oily dish, but it was cheesy and savory. The filling (ham, cheese, and tomato sauce) complemented together into a melt-in-your-mouth experience. Finally, the Raspberry Ice Tea was sweet and refreshing; I can look at the beautiful ocean while drinking it. The service in the restaurant was A-Level; it felt like a family restaurant to me. Overall, I enjoyed the meals in the restaurant. I would recommend everyone coming to Fisherman's Village to give a shot at this restaurant.“

“Yes, Have been a customer for years! I always get the Catfish Lunch.. It is just enough. The fish is cooked just right! How do they do that! A husband and wife team are the owners.. Nice folks.. You get a side and fresh slices of bread with your meal. Just like down South in the old days. Parking is Free. Limited! Parking on the street. Oh, you may eat there, but small area. Take to go and enjoy your meal with a nice glass of wine. ?No public bathroom and pay with $ Cash.. Bring cash! Smile.. Drop in and Note: You will Enjoy! Don“
