“Swadist is hands down one of the finest Indian dining experiences we have had in NewJersey City I say that having eaten at plenty of Indian restaurants in NY and NJ. We were a large group that tried many appetizers and entrees and not a single dish disappointed - every bite was amazing. The owners have not overlooked a single detail in not only the menu, but also the elegant decor. If you are looking for authentic Indian food with a modern feel, you will not be disappointed!“

“This eatery presents an intriguing Thai and Japanese fusion, deviating from traditional Thai dishes with a distinctive twist. I sampled the Pad Thai, which melds Thai sourness with a hint of Japanese sweetness. While I found the dish a tad too sweet for my taste, it was manageable. The restaurant operates as a one-man show, with the owner single-handedly hosting, serving, bussing, and cooking. His welcoming presence and constant smile were the highlights of my visit.Despite the enjoyable experience, the unique flavor profile didn’t quite suit my palate, so I likely won’t return for the food.“

“I ordered delivery with Grubhub. The food is delicious and authentic. If you are looking for authentic Thai food, this is the place for you. I ordered Yum Wun Sen salad and khao moo yang. I forgot to take a picture of yum wun sen, but the taste is great and big portion. I finished it. Khao moo yang comes with rice of your options and soup. Recommended!“

Pad Thai

“Always a little nervous about ordering from a Thai restaurant when the front workers aren't Thai, but I'm glad I forged through with my order. Walked in and ordered a few dishes, and was told it would be about 15 minutes. I left for the waiting period and came back and food was packaged all neatly (although in a plastic bag even tho we're post plastic bag-ban). When I got home to unpackage the food, I was kind of surprised at how much food there was! The curry was in a quart size container, sautee was in a round container and pad see ew was in a rectangular container. All the food was flavorful, not too sweet and not too spicy. I'm glad it wasn't bland or overcooked! Pad See Ew - noodles were cooked to perfection with just enough bite to them, there was chicken, broccoli and chinese broccoli. Garlic Saute was yummy too with a dollop of fried garlic in the middle of the dish. Sauce was again flavorful, there was a medly of veggies including baby corn, carrots, string beans, bell peppers. Curry -- I think I ordered peanut curry, but I definitely received a red curry. (c'est la vie). Curry was on point though and had bell peppers and broccoli. Rice came with the last two dishes, but I do wish there was a little bigger portion of rice given! Other than the potential order mistake, I had a pleasant experiencing ordering takeout from Nana, will def try again in the future.“
