“Cute little bakery located in the Denison Centre. Best bet is to go there on a week day as you're guaranteed to get all their special sandwich rolls. They have a pretty good selection of the specialty sandwiches and traditional stuffed Chinese buns. The price is great for the quality, and their buns are soft and delicious. Service is fast and efficient and they restock fairly consistently as there is always at least one staff member taking note of the inventory. Would definitely head back to get more buns!“

“This is the best cake I’ve had in Toronto by far! I ordered the mango cake, and the cream was incredibly smooth and not at all greasy. The mango pieces inside were also very large and fresh. Kwan Specialty Bakery • $$
8261 Woodbine Ave #3, Markham

“Kwan Specialty is part of the Kwan Dim Sum Chinese Restaurants family. There’s 2 or 3 restaurant locations left in the GTA. The one in Scarborough Towne Centre closed down during the pandemic. The difference with Kwan Specialty, it’s not a restaurant. It’s a place to buy teas, frozen dim sum, pickup limited amount of cakes, pastries, cookies and imported snacks. There’s a Wedding Corner, if you want party favours. They even sell chilli oil and xo sauce for your dim sum.At the centre is a cozy sitting area where you can drink tea and eat pastries. BTW, they don’t heat your frozen dim sum on site, and there’s no washroom facilities to use.Spend $50, you can pay using your credit card. But if you pay cash, you get a $5 voucher on your next purchase. If you spend $100 either cash or credit card you get a free gift. It’s a cake cutter/server with 4 matching small forks.Surprisingly, they sell party trays enough to feed 4-5 people, but you need to preorder ahead of time.I like their assortment of frozen foods and dim sum. Each one is labelled with cooking instructions. They even have a vegetarian section. This is a great place for seniors to come and get their food supply for the week. Only issue is there’s no push or wave button automatic door openers for people with mobility issues. Update: There is a push button, but not working at my 2nd visit back.Luckily, they do delivery on specific days and locations for those seniors and anyone in general. There’s a pull up banner sign near the front door with further details or call them. You can order online.Shopping bags are extra.Employees are friendly and can speak in English fluently. It’s in a great location as it almost shares the same parking lot as Costco and a Chinese Restaurant.“

An absolute hidden gem for their mochi.Had their mango mochi.Outer layer: extremely fresh, soft and perfectly chewy.Inside: cut up mango, whipped cream and popping boba ?Not sure how they haven't received much hype, I'd say they're as good...possibly better than some of the mochi in JTown. DEFINITELY give them a try.“

“Located right outside the Pacific Mall, and can easily locate the bakery from the strong scent. It smelt really good that it was hard to ignore! The place is a bit small and more of a takeout place, the line up moves pretty quickly. I decided to get the cheesecake and the madeline. Cheesecake: Delicious cheesecake and reasonable price. Decent value for what you get nowadays. They also have other variations such as chocolate and matcha on select days. Madeline: The madeline was good but wouldn't say it's anything special from other places. It was a bit on the pricier side. Overall, this location is pretty convenient if you're already visiting Pacific Mall. The wait time wasn't too long.“

“Tucked away in the Gal's Sushi plaza (behind Gal's Sushi) at Warden and Highway 7.My friend ordered a 6 pc assorted box of mochi bubbles to try for dessert on a saturday evening.Chestnut matcha: I've been eating stronger and stronger matcha over the years so my tolerance/preference for DARK matcha is very high. So while university me would've said this was good, it was too light on the matcha flavour for me (the chestnut flavour also wasn't very pronounced).Mango grapefruit: My goodness. This one was my runaway favourite. If I ever come back I might ONLY order this one. The flavour was super pronounced and deep. The cream was nicely balanced.Strawberry rose: Again, not that strong. The scent was very florally and the cross section was super pretty (great for IG) but the flavour could've been stronger. I do think it places 2nd behind the mango grapefruit though.Coconut latte: The most mid one in my opinion. It literally tasted like a cream puff. The coconut taste was LIGHT as hell. It tasted like something I could've whipped up at home.Bubble tea: The tapiocas in the middle made this one taste a lil too ooey goeey for me simply because the mochi is already kinda chewy and then when you add tapioca into the inside mix, it starts to get a lil weird texturally inside your mouth (maybe it's just me). Flavour was like milk tea flavoured.Taro salted egg yolk: Very unique flavour and in my top 3 after mango and strawberry prolly. I thought it would be weird eating salted yolk in its non-molten liquid form inside a dessert. This lil pocket changed my perception. Salted egg yolk tastes quite nice cold haha.I definitely think I should've swapped out coconut latte or the bubble tea flavour for the oreo chocolate flavour. The chocolate sponge in that one would've undoubtedly had a stronger flavour. At $31.99 for a box of 6, these desserts are definitely not worth it. But every so often if you want to indulge go ahead! I would only come here once in a blue moon. Because of the quality of the mochi bubbles, I'll award 4 stars.“

“Surprisingly mouthwatering! Why is it surprising? Who would’ve thought that a passion fruit + cotton candy soft serve would be so good? Not me! We had driven here based on a recommendation and my goodness I was not disappointed! Their flavours change constantly, so who knows if I will ever get this flavour again, but I know for a fact that I’ll be visiting again soon! It’s also nice that they have some nice tea selections and little nifty items for the home.“

Everyone had nothing but compliments saying how the cake was tasty but not too heavy and the icing was sweet but not too sweet. They were fantastic with the designs and it’s always a professional and fun experience. We love your cakes! Thank you again Cupcake Junkie!“

Brothers Bakery Bakery • $
7077 Kennedy Rd #104, Markham

“Brothers Bakery have been around for ages. Great spot to grab some freshly baked goods and Hong Kong Milk Tea to go if you are visiting Pacific Mall. You can take a seat and dine in if you want. This place is dated, since this is how it looked since it first opened. It caters to the people who board the Casino buses and Out of Town Tour buses in the wee hours of the morning.Don’t forget to bring your cash and your empty shopping bags, since they charge $0.50 for a bag.The bun is fairly large in size and has a good weight on it. I don’t remember it being that big. I guess it must have been to compensate for the price increase. My favourite is the BBQ Bun with the pineapple crust. No, there’s no pineapple in it. It describes the top crust of the bun, and how it resembles a pineapple. I also like the HK milk tea. There’s ample parking until the weekends that’s when it gets busier. They are opened 7 days a week fairly early in the morning. Before they close, they would always have a liquidation sale. A great sign that they baked fresh daily.Parking: Lots of parking. Might get busy during the weekends.“
