“Warning that you need three or more in your party to make a reservation otherwise the average wait time is 2 hours. You can put your name down and they'll text you when your table is ready so plan for that. The ambience is amazing and the food too so it's absolutely worth the visit. I recomend the lightly salted beef tongue, the yuzu cheesecake, and the agedashi tofu. The staff is friendly and the food arrives fast, plus if you sit at the bar tables they just hand it straight to you from the kitchen. It's a fun experience. Unfortunately without the reservation the seating will be random so you might get the traditional japanese seats or the bar area.“

“Our family of four stopped in for dinner last night to try out our new neighborhood spot and it was so good! The inside is nicely decorated and they have tables and floor tables for dining. The kids got a big kick out of sitting on floor pillows for dinner. The menu is extensive with Korean and Japanese items — including hibachi and sushi! Everything is reasonably priced and is meant to be a fast casual dine-in or takeout spot. So Carrollton folks — if you find yourself going to Sushi Kadan or another neighborhood joint — try this one out too! We have another spot for a tasty and healthy dinner. Kid friendly too! “Great place for hand rolls & sushi! Been here a few times already and service has been good & food comes out shortly after you place your order. They use very fresh ingredients and each item is thoughtfully created for maximum flavor profile. Aside from the fresh fish, their rice and crab meat mixture are amongst some of the best I’ve had. I really like their hand roll combos. 3 hand rolls are usually plenty for me. My favorites are the Rainforest, the Blue Fish, and the Dragon Roll.Only thing I wasn’t a big fan of was the 20% auto gratuity for a party of 6.“

I got the dragon roll and it was over filled with imitation crab, a pinprick of avocado but a good amount of yellowtail topper. Terrible execution. Cucumber salad was also disappointing. Tasted and looked old and leftover. Overall, I may try this once more as it was def better than Oishii but so far, only Hatsuyuki and Nikko have been able to compete with my rankings while searching this side of the airport. “We LOVE this place! Great sushi at a great price! Our daughter discovered Nori through DoorDash and ordered regularly.because one roll and fried rice could consistently last her 3 meals. She then asked us to take her on her birthday. My wife, who loves sushi, saw the lower prices and assumed the rolls must be small. She in turned ordered seeming 3 of every roll on the menu. The waitress' eyes got HUGE when she saw the order and said "that's WAY TOO MUCH!" We all laughed and she had my wife reduce the order to 1 roll each and even complete remove some rolls. When the rolls, sushimi, sushi arrived, we were like OMG what did we do??? It was SO MUCH! These are NOT small rolls. The table looked like a floating city (as they put the rolls in these 2 feet by 10 inch boats) of colorful art. It was beautiful, but overwhelmingly intense volume. We felt like if we really pushed ourselves we could mostly wipe it out. We may be hurting a little, but we wouldn't look like babies nibbling on our food and so we went to town. We enjoyed every bite of every piece and quickly put a sizable dent in the order. We were feeling proud and full and accomplished. That's when the remaining boats showed up... We cried uncle and threw our hands up in defeat. There was an entire additional boat we didn't touch. SO MUCH FOOD! We still laugh at that wonderful experience and we still don't let my wife forget. It's still funny and made for a great memory.“

“This place stands out amongst a sea of disappointing sushi joints in DFW that serve westernized "rolls" drenched in spicy mayo and eel sauce, masking the lack of fish quality. Great ambiance, service, and most importantly, food. Tried ~8 of their handrolls, all of which were fantastic. Started off with one of their combos which was comprised of more simple handrolls (salmon avocado, yellowtail scallion, etc) where the quality of fish stood out; then moved onto handrolls such as with a bit more depth which were also very good. I felt that sauces used in these rolls were relatively sophisticated. Vegetable tempura plate was notable as well - extra crispy & reminiscent of tempura sold in the far east. Appreciated the head chef and waitress who made the experience even more enjoyable.“

“Wow... this quaint and friendly sushi spot has the others beat. I came in for a late lunch, ordered the Poke Bowel cause it's a good blend of food to sample. It was great, fresh fish perfect rice and just enough sauce to blend it all very nicely. Green tea and perfect miso soup filled out the meal. So the staff... reminded me of a pensione in Italy. Seemed more like family (the ones you like) and friends than workers. Actually they all sat and had lunch together next to me while I finished my meal. Business is closed between 2:30 and 5 to give the staff time together I assume. Completely reminded me of the original Macaroni Grill (Leon Springs) when Phil used to run it. Get in here and enjoy the whole environment.“

“So good I ordered carry out. I got the B40 and they gave me a free miso soup! I don't usually like miso soup, but this one was so delicious. I literally drank the whole cup. The broth was rich and well seasoned. The B40 was delicious. I was craving a Poke bowl and this hit the spot. I was initially thrown off by the amount of lettuce but it really balanced the dish well. “Holy moly! I was traveling and picked this place at random because the name was hilarious. Well, here’s a fun fact - Oishii means delicious in Japanese and that doesn’t even come close to the cuisine. The place was lit on a Friday night and the chefs were fastidiously crafting the sushi rolls at the bar. This joint has it all - sushi, poke, pho, Chinese and Vietnamese and a stellar wine list/cocktails to boot. The pan seared dumplings were delicate and savory. The Buddha veggies with fried tofu and vermicelli noodles melted in my mouth. Are you salivating yet? Hold your saliva because the Himalayan roll was the main event. This beauty was too pretty to eat and was served on an ice cold pink Himalayan salt block big enough for playing frisbee, except that it was square. Who am I kidding? Pretty or not, this roll slid down like an oyster on a hot summer day. In all fairness, the Main Street roll was a close contender, with that spicy little kick at the end. Date night ambience-check. “Food was excellent and price was a little pricey but flavor was well worth it. Our party was of 15 or more. They did inform us we were not going to be seated together but it being last minute we were okay with it. They sat us in booths next to each other. Two different waitresses. Our waitress right away told us we could not be moving around from table to table. She was not able to handle such a big table. Very unprofessional disregarding we were paying customers. Not sure if we would visit again with that kind of treatment. FYI, we still tipped more than what was expected.“

Their non-sushi food, like their bento box, are on the lighter side of taste but served with very good portions. Their sushi is superb! “This is my favorite sushi restaurant in DFW. I come here every other week or so. The all you can eat dinner experience is really great. There is so many options to choose from. I love how everything is made fresh to order rather than buffet style all you can eat. Even though the price may be high to some people I always feel like I get my money's worth after I leave. I have come during lunch before and although the price is cheaper alot of the menu isn't available like it is during dinner. I would not come here personally during lunch again. It's not a good value to me.“

The Chief who made food for us in the center of table was pretty professional and, busy but in order. The new Asian waiter was pretty good. We had too many people together but, he made everything clear as a new employee there. We love everyone who works there. “The food was so good! My daughter and I got the filet mignon with fried rice and we both loved it! I don’t care for certain vegetables in my rice or on the side and they kindly accommodated me! Definitely the best Hibachi around! The salad dressing was also yummy! Only thing the soup had a little too much pepper (I think that’s what it was), but still good. Definitely going back! “My wife had gotten an ad for Sushi Sam on her social media, and went to check out where they were. We had driven past them a number of times heading to the Southlake town center, and usually they are on the other side of 1709 from where we are coming to head to what we are going to do that we hadn't really considered them before checking out their menu. Service was outstanding, it did feel like they were overstaffed for the amount of customers they had. We decided to go heavy on veggie rolls due to the number of different options they had compared to our normal places. While it was all good, the only thing that stood out was our one meat option that we got for our 8 year old ... a chicken teriyaki roll (cooked.) Prices are a little on the higher side as well when we compare rolls that we can compare to other places we do go to. (I'll give them credit on that, they are in Southlake.) We will likely return at least a couple more times, especially with our 16 year old in tow with us to try that teriyaki roll, and to try items we didn't get a chance to try this time around. Though, they may not be our regular spot for our regular rolls.“

I ordered on my lunch break which is less than 30 minutes, by the time I arrived it was ready for pick up and I was back in the office with a few minutes to spare. I had everything in my bag including extra napkins. I really appreciate when businesses make it a priority to ensure that not only the food is good but that the customer has everything needed in the Togo bag so have a good experience. I'll definitely be ordering from this place again. It was also clean and there was plenary of seating.“

“My go to for poke! I love this place in person and DoorDashing it. There's something really fresh about all of the ingredients and it's something only you can mess up. Because you choose your toppings it can also be either healthy or not. The staff is nice and straight to the point in person. It used to be a regular lunch spot for me before inflation. “Be careful eating here and paying with a debit or credit card. I was charged twice and called once I noticed, the person I spoke with did not sound surprised at all. I was told they would have to wait for the manager to go through all transactions to double check it and call me back. Once called back they said I did get charged twice and “they would work on getting it reversed”. I have still yet to receive my refund.“
