“We have been buying our seafood at Bon Secour Fisheries for almost 30 years. Just went the other day to get crab legs and the IQF shrimp. They not only sell to some of the local seafood markets, they have a retail store also. The Nelson family are really nice people.“

“We had a top notch lunch at Fish River Grill today with Nikki as our server. I was a bit disappointed they were out of gumbo, but quickly turned my frown upside down as I saw fried gator bites as an app. They were perfectly seasoned and fried! I got the half shrimp, half fried whitefish basket which came with hush puppies, okra, fries and Cole slaw. All of which were extremely full of flavor and fried to perfection. I loved how they have bottles of condiments instead of tiny cups (which are not cost effective and get trashed) We were so happy with our lunch! And the complimentary swamp stew was delicious!!!! As we were finishing, Sweet Nikki brought out complimentary lemon cake for each of us. As if we weren’t stuffed from lunch, but we could t resist. It was delicious. Huge shout out to the staff for easily working with us having my husbands service dog. They made sure all were comfortable. Definitely check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!“

“We were there and the food was absolutely good. Yes I'm a food critic and everything was on par. We never had to ask for refills from our waiter Carl. Yes the chairs in the bar area especially in the nook area are very uncomfortable. The ambiance is eclectic. The scallops were cooked to perfection, the temp on my steak was absolutely perfect as I requested it blu. I didn't have to explain to the waiter what that means, and no backlash about consumption of rare food items.“

She said they were better than she’s had at any restaurant. We also had the crab dip. Yummy!!! We will definitely be back when we visit Gulf Shores again. Great service, great food!!“

“We stopped in on a whim. Restaurant was just a little down from our condo for the week. We wish we would have stopped sooner! Food was phenomenal. We started with appetizers and they came out fast. Kids menu was good and the chicken strips were more than enough. We also ordered some fried fish, the hangover burger, and blackened chicken Mac and cheese. Our waitress Kathy was extremely friendly, very attentive, and one of the most friendly people we have met in the area. All of the staff could be seen smiling, joking around with their customers, and definitely made you feel welcomed and appreciated. If we ever decide to vacation down here again we will definitely be back.“

“Best boil I’ve had and thats a lot of boils. Shrimp was cooked perfect. Seasoning delicious. Corn potatoes and sausage were abundant and perfect. And the corn was whole ears, tender and sweet.2nd time here and got the crawfish, first time having good crawfish outside the state of Louisiana (well except when I have it flown in live and do it myself). This brother and sister team know what their doing.“

“The place is single handedly fixing unemployment with the number of workers they have. On a serious note, the food was great and the workers were very nice. Would eat there again/10! Get their spinach, artichoke, and crab dip or whatever it is. It's fantastic!“

I find their sides and vegetables to be overcooked consistently which is why I give this place 4 stars. The atmosphere is also 4 stars because the restaurant is always so cold.“

“No place on the eastern shore of Mobile has a better price point for a white fish basket. Fish, fried to perfection, French fries, okra and cole slaw along with a couple of hush puppies. The portion size is enough to feed two people. The taste always draws me back for a last meal before heading back to the Northcoast for the summer. “Yes, I was one of those dumb people that didn’t think to order my shrimp ahead of time and went to pick them up. (They don’t have it ready for pickup. You have to order ahead of time for it to be ready.) I had an old lady breakdown right there…..and they listened calmly and put up with me. I had 20 people waiting for dinner and it was all my fault . The young men there were so kind. They explained that the cooked, peeled, deveined,etc that the fresh shrimp required (by hand ), would take quite a bit of time. The young man offered to let me purchase the frozen shrimp rather than fresh because they could have that ready in a much shorter period of time. Everyone loved the shrimp and didn’t know fresh from frozen! Yes, I’m going back the next time I’m in town But incognito. Hopefully they won’t recognize me but I will always remember the young man’s kindness and helpfulness to feed my family. And the delicious shrimp! Thank You!“

“Great place to hang out and enjoy a casual lunch or dinner. Service was spot on and the food was excellent! Our crew of four loved the shrimp baskets (we had the regular fried and buffalo shrimp), the crab cakes and the loaded potato. There is a bar downstairs and additional seating upstairs.“

We have done event space parties in the past and they have always felt like a rip-off and somehow more stressful than necessary. Not at The Gulf Bowl! “I’ve been once for lunch and got the buffet. My husband and I went for dinner and ordered from the menu. The food is excellent home cooked southern cuisine. The fried chicken is beyond delicious and their side dishes are perfect. The staff is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The place has a cafe atmosphere. It’s rather small and at lunch can be crowded but that’s because the food is so dang good! It’s worth the trip from Gulf Shores to eat there.“

The kitchen staff was able to make accommodations in order for me to safely consume my meal. “We waited 30 mins for our cocktails. Four tables were seated after us, and received their main course long before we did. Our table was next to a malfunctioning exterior door that my husband had to close dozens of times. The menu states to let them know if you have a food allergy, and so when we asked for side dishes to be on a separate plate for that reasom, we were told, "Im not sure the chef will like that". We finally received our food and it was incredible. It's a shame that it was overshadowed by the frustration of everything we just mentioned. Not the $380 experience we were excited for.“

Eating at Docs's on our last night on the coast has become a family tradition...and like usual, we had our dinner there. Rich was our waiter and did a fantastic job making sure everything was good and to our liking. The food was (as usual) phenomenal! My wife had the "Best Shrimp in the Whole Civilized World," and I had the Grouper Julie. We finished it all off with their awesome Cheese Cake!
