There’s biodegradable containers and good ol’ fashioned plates. I need to remind myself to not order beer on tap. Plastic cups? Really? “Back in town for a few days and tried Granny's. It was a great decision. the food is really really good. I love the talapia plate and my wife loves the grits with shrimp sausage or bacon. They open up on Thursdays and you should do yourself the favor of stopping by.“
“If you're ever in Bessemer, AL I highly recommend going to the back porch. Great comfort food with a family feel. You can get two meats and two sides. This particular time I ordered the meatloaf , collard greens , black eye peas, and a slice of Jalapeño cornbread. The food was delicious and the service was great.“

“Audrey's is off the beaten path on 6th Avenue South and worth a try if you want down home southern cooking and a friendly visit with the ladies who run the place. They don't have cocktails but they make a mean Arnold Palmer and they give you just the right amount of attention to make sure you have everything you need. It's a basic dining room with casual ambiance so you can pop in during the work day and feel right at home. Our food was very good. I had the salmon patty and my friend had fried fish. We got a choice of sides which we were very happy with.“

It’s really frustrating being as though this is my 3rd visit where their hours are posted as 11a.m.-5p.m., but I pull up at 1 and they’re closed. That’s wasted time and gas. “The food is always plentiful. Which is important for me. I don't mind paying if the plate is weighing. Lol. And weigh it does indeed. I always get the oxtail when I go. I haven't been able to find anyone in Birmingham that can mess with her on those oxtails. To say they are finger licking good would be doing them a great disservice.Her service is always friendly. And you won't be disappointed with the flavor or the portions. Fat people know. Trust me.Vegetarian options: She does have vegetables and starches if you aren't into meat.Wheelchair accessibility: Does have a ramp to the front door. I don't know how to gauge how accessible it is beyond that.“
“We were working in the area last week and decided to give Jake’s a try! It was delicious! There was no wait, the server was super nice, the food came out quick, & everything was great! We both decided to get the Jamaican Jerk Chicken, with corn bread, Mac and cheese, fried okra, and rice! It was all delicious! The chicken is a little spicy (which we like) but if you don’t do spicy, you might want to choose a different option! For dessert we got the strawberry cake! Everything was great, we will definitely go back in the future! (We even had some left overs)“
