“Automatic Seafood and Oysters never disappoints. Hubby and I went there for our anniversary dinner recently. The raw oysters were very fresh and tasty - the perfect beginning to another wonderful culinary experience at this restaurant. For my entree I opted for the blackened pomfret with crawfish beurre blanc. We shared a side of haricot verts - perfectly seasoned. Logan, our waiter, was attentive, efficient and personable. All-in-all a wonderful experience. I held one star on atmosphere simply because I am growing tired of the industrial loft motif in fine dining establishments. C’mon, jazz it up a bit! Also I am a firm believer in comfortable chairs in restaurants (and theirs aren’t particularly comfortable).“
“I recently had the opportunity to dine At Carrabba’s location Leslie was my server, and she was amazing polite, very considerate and concern in regards to every detail of our experience, lovely person, request her if you want an opportunity for a special occasionVegetarian options: The bread and oil dip is amazing for starters and then you have a super salad choice and and then there is Sautéed spinachMushrooms“
“Finding seating is hard here….And that’s it. That’s the end of the slight detriments. This is some is the best BBQ in birmingham and that’s a pretty big deal. The sweet tea chicken sandwich is FANTASTIC, but I actually tried a burger this time. Don’t usually eat burgers, but I was feeling it. So thrilled I did. The Carolina I think it was? Chili on a burger…. And just enough to not overwhelm everything else.Sides? You can’t go wrong. But the potato salad is my go to.Good prices. Amazing good. Friendly service and atmosphere. Saw’s has it awwwl.Vegetarian options: Why would you go here if you’re a vegetarian?“
“Service was absent. Waitress argued with my dad about an appetizer quality. So he refused to order any more food little did they know he was picking up the check. Food was okay. Not 5 star. Took us 4 hours to eat and get out. Waitress had 6 tables with 39 people in upscale restaurant. Been waiting years to go here. Service really was worse than Applebees“
“This place has the best- most authentic- tiramisu in AL, no exceptions. Went with my folks tonight and had the seafood ravioli for an entree. Not only was the bread crispy and the (seemingly) infused olive oil to dip with perfectly seasoned, but my ravioli sauce... I tried to pinpoint the flavor profile and never could. It was so amazing, but I couldn't put my finger on what made it that way. Hats off to Chef Andrew. He and Scott, our waiter, made that meal a perfect way to celebrate my parents' anniversary. Absolutely no complaints.“
“I gave 4 stars because the food wasn't to my liking, of course we ate all of it we paid for it and we do not throw away food, but it was fresh and hot. Our server Faith was a sweetheart?♀️ and very kind when I asked for more butter, she brung it right on out. The atmosphere gives off a vintage smooth free vibe, which was superb and we loved it. I do recommend this restaurant to others, it's just we are huge seasoning lovers and we love to try different places and styles of food so we gave this place a shot. This restaurant is excellent for dining so go check it out.“
“There is nothing bad that you can say about this place! Every single time that we’ve been here, we’ve had an amazing experience. From service, food, seasonal food choices, drinks, and desserts, it’s just a great place to eat, and have a quick meal or a meeting or a leisurely dinner. We tend to go when we have just a little time to go in and have a quick bite and something to drink on our way to an event or something, but we went to a business meeting here a month ago, and it was, a great experience as well. They have a separate room that you can holdings in room for projector screen and such.“
“The food here is so amazing! The New Orleans-based decorations and music blasting make it feel familiar inside the building. The staff was extremely nice and patient, answering our questions and making small talk. They're extremely sustainable by using reusable silverware and dishes. However, the tables are close to each other, which adds to the homey/familiar vibe, but it doesn't help with preventing COVID-19. Though, they do offer take-out as a counter! The area is really small with limited parking but the experience there left a big impression.“
“We arrived for our 5:30 reservation only to find out it had not registered with the host station from the website. The wait was 1 1/2 hours. We stepped aside - my husband searched for our confirmation email and I called other restaurants to see where we could eat. A few minutes later, the young hostess grabbed some menus, said "follow me" and sat us at a table. We were very thankful. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. It was an enjoyable evening thanks to her.“
“If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. I’m visiting from out of town, and my blackened mahi fish tacos were other-worldly. The hush puppies were a delightful side, with the fresh house made tartar sauce to dip. 100% loved this meal. The vibe here is relaxed, mom & pop kind of cozy. Go here today. I will be back!!“
“Dinner date with my SOYmate! My wife & I had a fantastic date night at Chuck's Fish. This Chuck's Fish is located on 280, but there are 5 other locations across Alabama, Georgia & Florida. They specialize in fresh seafood & sushi. We started with the Kimchi Brussels served flash-fried with bacon & cilantro aioli. I'm such a fan girl for good Brussels & these were PHENOMENAL! Brussels sprouts have that earthy, almost nutty flavor which paired incredibly well with the tangy umami of the kimchi. They were perfectly crisp on the outside while nice & tender inside. The bacon also played a huge part in this dish. These were no bacon bits, rather generous strips of real bacon. It has been a few years since we last dined at Chuck's Fish. The last time we dined here, we tried dishes from their dinner menu as well as their sushi menu & decided sushi is definitely the move here for us. Last night, we ordered Salmon Nigiri, the Meatloaf Roll featuring yellowtail, green onion, spicy sauce & tempura topped with avocado & tuna tartare as well as the Red Dragon Roll featuring soft shell crab, smelt roe, green onion & spicy sauce topped with tuna & avocado. The Salmon Nigiri was super fresh & had the perfect rice to fish ratio. We both thoroughly enjoyed the Meatloaf Roll & the Red Dragon Roll, but the Red Dragon Roll had the slight edge, for me. The combination of sweet soft shell crab, the pop of the smelt roe, firmness of the tuna & creaminess of the avocado was delightful. I really dig the atmosphere at Chuck's Fish. It's upscale & modern, but not pretentious. Service was friendly. They have a nice selection of spirits, wine, beer & specialty cocktails. I was pleased with my Pomegranate Martini as was my wife with her Maple Pecan Old Fashioned. They also offer Happy Hour daily featuring 1/2 off select drinks at the bar from 5-6pm. Chuck's is fabulous. The best sushi in the 280/Greystone area, imo.“
“I stopped by to see how this place stood up to the other Chinese food places and it was great. It will be my new go to location in Trussville. I will stop by again to do a full review.Vegetarian options: Just about anything can be made into vegetarianDietary restrictions: Each order can be customized to you restrictions, for the most partParking: Large parking lot“
“Big generous portions on the jambalaya, I wish it came with more rice though to soak up the nice sauce.?Fried green tomatoes are fried with a cornmeal coating so it’s not like traditional fried stuff, just FYI. I’m on vacation so this was fab“
“My husband and I took our 7 year old daughter here for Tomahawk Tuesday and it was fabulous! The child’s three course dinner was cute and had great options. She had the cheese/crackers, filet with fries, and sundae…she is very picky and ate almost everything. We got the chef’s NY strip and filet, spinach, and Fleming’s potatoes, fruit/chantilly cream, and crème brûlée…everything was fantastic. Great service and atmosphere!“
“Between the dry aged tacos and the quail with a side of “Char”, this place is an amazing spot in Birmingham. I enjoyed half my meal before meeting the owner sitting a couple seats down. He was quick elaborate on the food and hard-work they put into their recipes. Great place with a great team.“
“Our server Chris was exceptional and Aaron behind the bar did not disappoint (but he was raised right). Everything was so tasty and you can tell the kitchen was not afraid to season the food well. Put this on your "must visit now" list immediately.“
“NEW FAVORITE PLACE AND SERVER!! Food was amazing. Best queso and quesadilla in Birmingham. Jake's service was truly exceptional. From the moment we sat down, he exuded professionalism and warmth. He demonstrated an extensive knowledge of the menu, offering insightful recommendations that perfectly suited our preferences. Throughout the meal, Jake was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and checking in at the right moments. His friendly demeanor, combined with his impeccable service, made our experience memorable. We left the restaurant with a deep appreciation for his dedication and exceptional hospitality. We will be back!!!“
“They don’t call it soho “social” for nothing. It was very loud inside with all the “socializing” but with limited stops from the waiter/waitress, I feel if we sat outside this review would be better. Food was delicious though. But if you get the maple brussel sprouts be prepared for very crunchy and sweet flavor with very little brussel sprouts. I won’t order them again.“
“Update-Thank you Treasha for reaching and looking into this. 3/25/24.My coworkers and I order takeout which two of my coworkers were able to order online. For some reason my order wouldn’t go through online so we called it in. The food was good but my problem is the person who rung up the order decided to add themselves a tip which I wasn’t aware until it posted on my account. I was also charged a takeout fee which my coworkers weren’t charged. Never again will I order from this location.“
“Food-wise this place knocks it outta the park Southern Style and really satisfies (meat and 3? I wanted about 17 of the sides!!). Iconic and recommended, food for everybody and all types dining there (laborers, businessmen, retirees...all here with good reason). Actual dining is a RUSHED experience though, even after prime lunch hours: machine-gun choices lobbed at you, hurried to your table, and be careful using the restroom--you might come back to a bussed & cleaned table!. Meat+3 w/dessert/drink=$24. Nice to see management assisting elderly customers by taking their trays for them. Ample free parking. Large cafeteria seating area. Catfish in Fridays. Would def come back and bring others. Place could prob stand to reinvest and spruce up interior some if possible to not compromise its old timey feel.“
“The service was awesome!!! Our waiter/server Henry was superb. He constantly, but without being a pest, made sure we had everything we needed. The food was outstanding!! Everyone at our table ordered something different, and not one had a complaint. Everything arrived in a timely manner and everyone's food was hot and delicious. I have a hard time deciding what I want, but in the end it's all about the pork chop. And, I'm not even a big pork eater, but Perry's is out of this world. It's enough for dinner, and lunch and dinner the next day. Thank you Perry's for another wonderful dining experience.“
“Ocean is one of my favorite restaurants by far. My husband and I visit here occasionally, the food is always great and the service is as well. Last night my husband surprised me with dinner here with my kids and family for my birthday. The food was great per usual as well as the drinks. However, our main server last night had the worst personality, her attitude was horrible. I can’t remember her name but I would definitely remember her face. My daughter asked about the birthday dessert and she was very snappy with her. For this server to get a 130.00 gratuity she definitely deserve it at all. Other than her nasty attitude and personality everything was great! Just wish we had a better server.“
“I took my daughter to lunch at Daniel George yesterday. It was delicious. I had the fried oysters with 2 vegetables and my daughter had the crab cakes with 2 vegetables. The service was excellent. This has become my favorite lunch spot because of the food selection, the good service, and the setting. We will definitely be going back soon.“
“Great Chicken and Chinese food! It's not fast food, so it takes a little longer than your McDonalds, but it's worth the wait. Inside is mediocre, recommend takeout. Overall, great place to grab a bite to eat and go, as I come here at least twice a week!“
“The wait was not long… enjoyed the staff from entry to exit. Our food selection was very delicious, my first time eating mussels and I enjoyed it! My drink was very tasty, the appetizers were pleasing to the palate (hate I did not choose a wine option instead). Main entree very pleasing, but could not finish it all. Definitely returning!“
“Great food, friendly staff.Every experience here is a good one. The portions are large and the prices can't be beat!Parking: Parking is typically easy to find here. We've been here for lunch and dinner times and never had any problems.Kid-friendliness: Very kids friendly. The servers are great with the kiddos and the kids meals are portioned perfectly.“
“Love the food. Gluten free peeps - this is a good place for you! They don't have a gluten free "menu" per say, but you can order just about anything with corn tortillas instead of flour and the food has never made us sick, so they don't use gluten-containing spices in their meats, etc. at least not in a concentration to cause issues. Very fast for to-go orders. It's usually pretty loud inside, but feels like home. Drinks are reasonably priced as well.“
“Just had the endless steamed shrimp like always!!!! Oh my goodness the seasoning was on point, I asked for them to make the shrimp wet and they were anmazing each refill came out hot and on point!!! The wait staff was super attentive, Thanks MeMe and “
“Finally had a chance to check out Yo Chef and was NOT disappointed! The food, drinks, and atmosphere were definitely a vibe. I had the Rasta Chicken Pasta and my out of town guests had the red snapper. Everyone at the table enjoyed the food and had great things to say about their meal. I will DEFINITELY be returning soon!“
“Came here with my husband and mother in law & my God. 10/10. We came on a Friday afternoon around 3 PM & it was quiet, not too many people in here. Calm & light atmosphere. Our server was Karen & she was nice & inviting, but didn’t bother us too much, which we appreciated. She made great suggestions & took care of us. My mother in law got the Redfish Orleans & it was soooo flavorful. A little kick to it though. My husband got the shrimp & grits & it was neck & neck with a restaurant in Atlanta called Mojave. 10/10! I got the Seafood Pasta & I’d rate it a 9/10. I had expectations of it being more Cajun flavored but it was still creamy & delicious. Our appetizers were the oyster platter & Fried green tomatoes. My first time trying fried tomatoes & I was blown away. So overall, 10/10 experience. Loved it here!“
“My wife and I used them for the family dinner the night before our wedding and everyone was so nice and helpful. My 80+ year old uncle arrived an hour early and one of the hostesses kept him company while he waited. The service was exactly what we had hoped for and made everything perfectly easy for us. A group of our guests liked it enough they went back for dinner the next night after our wedding!“
“Always my go to for take out Chinese. Haven't been in SO long but ordered the summer roll and Szechuan combination. Always so god and reasonable prices! Ready in 15. Always on phone taking orders though but she made them wait and took my money so I could head home!“
“The food is amazing everytime I come here. This last time I got it to go and had an hour and a half drive. By the time I got home, my food was still hot and delicious! Also, they have some of the best fried rice ive ever tasted.HIGHLY recommended!!“
“We ate here several times during our stay at the Birmingham Marriott. Our breakfasts were excellent; with a special shout-out to Wanda for making wonderful offerings (eggs Benedict, omelets, etc. ), and providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We also enjoyed one late evening shrimp cargot appetizer, which was quite tasty. All and all, this location is a solid option, if one wants to dine-in at the hotel.“
“Food was amazing. I ordered on doordash. she was very friendly and substituted my eggs for sausage that was ready so I wouldn't have to wait. Lots of sauce. I added some spices to it but everything was amazing and there was alot on the plate. Would definitely buy again“
“Chicken wings! Whole wings. Wing combo with thousands of fries. They are a quick go-to spot to get them fresh out of the grease! They’re accommodating to how you like them prepared and generally in point with service. No frills at all, just business. Drive through or walk-in…there’s always a line but it moves quickly. I prefer the whole wing, lemon pepper.“
“My husband doesn't eat seafood but thought I'd like to try a new place. He loves red beans and rice and it was definitely a hit for him! Neither of us could finish our food, but it didn't stop us from taking it home for leftovers. Highly recommend! Also, they have the best fried pickles I've ever tasted.“
“Love this restaurant!! All of the staff are friendly and go the extra mile for you. I absolutely love the Dungeness Crab Combo (#4)!! Fantastic!!! Crab, shrimp, sausage, boiled eggs, corn on the cob, and potatoes! Yummmm!!! Love it! I even have left overs for supper tonight! Today we had a new waitress, Brittany, who had just started yesterday. She was absolutely fabulous! Never needed to ask for anything, she was right there!!! She has a great personality and made the experience much more enjoyable! Thanks Brittany!! Can't wait to go back! Strongly recommend folks who like seafood to give this restaurant a visit!“
“Great spot to get fresh seafood on demand. They sell raw seafood as well as fresh prepared seafood. I've been eating here for most of my life and they're always on point. Don't let the look of the building fool you, this place is the real deal when it comes to fish.“
“Wow. Just finished my first meal from here, and will def be going back. I had the fried grouper, gumbo and cheese grits. It was all as good as any I’ve had. Warning: the gumbo has kick! Not for the faint of heart, but if you are or wanna play cajun, get the gumbo, it’s delicious. 5 stars!!“
“This is a great Mexican restaurant specializing in seafood dishes. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great as well. At the time we were there a live band was playing and singing Mexican music. We enjoyed the experience immensely.“
“My husband and I had the pick 3 fried seafood. We had catfish, oysters and shrimp. It was hot and fresh. Seasoned perfectly. Our waitress was Cookie and she was great!! There was another young man that greeted us (We didn’t get his name) but he was personable and made us feel welcome. We will be going back soon.“
“We were at an event at Barber Motorsports. We like local restaurants and Cajun food. Loved this place! The Redfish Rockefeller was superb. Lots of spice, not to much and so well cooked. My husband’s gumbo was great, nice dark roux. We love Cajun food and this was a great example. (And the service rocked)“
“Me and my family had the best experience Good Friday that just passed the dj and music was amazing that was our first time going there the food was excellent everything was great I will most definitely go back if it has the same experience I had music fun dj and food I give this place a 100 for staff and everything the season on my food was great atmosphere a plus“
“So I visited Carters Hooka bar & Grill for the first time. I had seen so many good reviews on another site so I decided to give it a try. To say I was underwhelmed wouldn't suffice. The atmosphere was nice, chill little vibe. Good music, good vibes, bad food & Drinks were disgusting. We ordered shrimp & grits, steak & shrimp, 2 blue MF (drinks) & Cajun ranch cheese fries. The grits were under cooked, no seasoning, and tasted like water. We added salt and that didn't help at all. The sausage was burnt and it was a little too done. The shrimp was seasoned but it didn't balance the grits. The steak and shrimp tasted like each other. They didn't have a distinct flavor, it's like they cooked it together. The steak was waaayyy overcooked and the heat wasn't hot enough because the steak didn't have a char on the outside. It was spicy along with the shrimp. It did come with 2 potatoes covered in cheese and a side salad that was mostly tomatoes & cucumbers minimal lettuce. The drinks were not good but not bad. Too much alcohol, the end that's all. I would come back but definitely not for the food.“
“Tonight my husband and I went to Ruth Chris for the first time. We got married yesterday and decided to come here to celebrate. We had a 6:15 reservation and when we arrived we were seated promptly. Kayla was our server and time we were seated she instantly came to the table. I have to say that Kayla is a true gem. Her personality and attention to detail were top notch. I want management to know that you all are very fortunate to have a person like Kayla on your team. I observed her waiting 4 tables while giving each one her full attention. She gave us recommendations for drinks and they were spot on. In my opinion she deserves employee of the month or some token to show her that her efforts are not going unnoticed. Kayla if you read this, "Thank You for your kindness."“
“They have a number to call in and pre-order your food but they will not make it until you actually arrived which is unusual but understanding. English translation is somewhat broken but they figure it out and they always double-check to make sure that what you are ordering is what they are cooking and fixing. On any individual meal for one person be expecting to wait at least 15 minutes, if you are ordering for the whole family then 20 to 25 minutes is usually the longest wait time“
“If you have never been before GO. The atmosphere, the customer service, THE FOOD, is all impeccable. I have been twice this month with my husband. The food is fresh to order and they have the best garlic bread ever. Even just going in to sit at the bar is a great experience. 10/10 and definitely one of our favorite places to eat. ♥️“
