Gil's Taste of Taos is a hidden gem that serves delicious northern New Mexico food. With a cozy and cheerful atmosphere, it feels like home. The menu offers unique dishes like red and green chile, carne asada stuffed sopapilla, and chicken chimichanga, all made from family recipes. The food is made from scratch, and the complimentary tortilla chips with salsas are perfect. The quaint dining area and personal service make it feel like visiting an old friend. The green chile has a perfect blend of flavor and spice, and the chile is real—no watered-down spicy-ness here. The restaurant has inside seating with great New Mexico flair, and there's also an outside gazebo seating option. While there's no alcohol menu, guests can bring their own wine with no corkage fee. The dessert sopapilla served with powdered sugar and honey is a must-try. Gil's Taste of Taos is definitely worth a visit for anyone looking for the best Mexican food and a welcoming atmosphere. The owner is so nice and welcoming, making every experience fantastic. If you want the taste of New Mexico, look no further.
