I have had Coconuts on Kauai and Maui multiple times. My favorite mahi mahi fish tacos. Maybe it was just missing that aloha vibe. It was ok, but dry and the salsa didn't have the full flavor like on the islands. Couldn't quite place why.
Hidden away in the plaza surrounding the movie theater. This location has a large outdoor, shaded patio. I have yet to find something I don't like here. The coconut shrimp and the Taco Mountain are go-to dishes. The veggies are always crisp and the fish is tastes fresh and flaky. There is a small but adequate beer selection and a couple of wine options, as well.Parking: The front parking lot is shared with the movie theater, so it can be very busy. I windsurfed Maui for years. Honeymooned there. 16th birthday for my daughter. This place reminds me of Paia and Malawian. Such a friendly attitude. The food was awesome. It’s not like Mama’s fish house more quaint.
