Without any clues where for good food, I just browsed through google map for restaurants round the city park area. 2 places stood out. West coast seafood and this Humo. When we drove past the first one (West Coast Seafood), it seemed to be a bit boring. Menu was so so. And we decided to dine at Humo when we found that the ambiance was so lively, the person at the reception receiving us was so helpful and welcoming. The menu was fabulous! There was a 5-course chef menu at $105 and my wife and I decided to create our own 6-course menu to share instead. Turned out, absolutely stunning. We had the crab cakes, octopus carpaccio, beef tartare, BC oysters, bone marrow and miso cod fish! Yes, it was quite a feast and we enjoyed so much as the beef tartare was phenomenal, the BC oysters were so fresh and delicious! This is a place I’d certainly recommend 5+ star. Oh, yeah, we had wines, coffee and finished the meal with Macadamia Sundae as well…”

“I recently visited Cactus Club Cafe in Kelowna, and overall, it was a really enjoyable experience. The location on Water Street is great, especially if you want a nice view of Okanagan Lake while you eat. The atmosphere is modern and stylish, and I loved the open air dining area, it’s perfect for warmer days.
The food was delicious! I tried a few dishes, and everything was presented beautifully and tasted fresh and flavorful. The Truffle Fries were a highlight, and the variety on the menu made it hard to choose just one thing. Their drinks are also worth checking out, the cocktail I had was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal.
The service was solid too. They were all friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without feeling rushed.
The only downside I noticed is that it’s on the pricier side which I expected for a premium casual dining spot, and it can get a bit busy during peak hours too!
All in all, I’d recommend Cactus Club Cafe if you want tasty food, a good vibe, and a great lakeside view. I’ll definitely be back with family and more friends!”

“I had the pleasure of going into Little Hobo Soup & Sandwich Shop and was impressed by the level of service and care. From the moment we walked in the door you could just feel this was a special place. In a world that is fast paced, and everyone seems to be rushing through their day, this place gives you a moment of escape for even a short amount of time. The food is great and feels like some home cooking from grandma. Nostalgia is something they serve up daily, especially the Doukhobor Borscht (my little Ukrainian heart exploded). They even have take away items that you can indulge in at home. But the thing that stood out the most was the way their staff went above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, from the initial walk in, directing the line, and even while we waited for our takeout I think every staff member came by and made sure we didn't need anything. Our hospitality industry is lacking in that connection and level of care. One last thing, Crystal posts the daily specials in such a heartfelt way to their Facebook page that it's almost impossible to not give a shout out to this little small business and give them some community love that they so deserve.”

“I've been a regular customer at Yamas for years, and I keep coming back for their roast lamb — it's genuinely one of the best I've ever had. The flavors are rich, the meat is tender, and it’s consistently well-prepared. During my most recent visit, I was served by Taya, she was kind and polite.
That said, I’d like to mention two things where I believe there’s room for improvement. First, the roast lamb tends to arrive a bit late, which can affect the overall dining experience. Second, over the years, I’ve noticed a significant increase in the price of the roast lamb, while the portion size has decreased. What used to be 2 generous chunks of lamb is now just one, at a noticeably higher price.
I truly hope Yamas can maintain the quality and value that made it such a standout in the first place. I’m leaving four stars instead of five solely due to the changes in pricing and portion size — otherwise, it remains a fantastic place to dine.”

We asked for level 4 spice (they offer spice levels 1–5 and Thai spicy), and it was exactly what we were hoping for: spicy, authentic, and delicious! They also made sure my husband’s meal was fully vegetarian, adjusting both the Pad Thai and salad to be free of oyster sauce and fish oil.
We only wish we had a Thai place this good back home in Vancouver. Thank you for the warm service and amazing food!”

From the moment we walked in the door you could just feel this was a special place. In a world that is fast paced, and everyone seems to be rushing through their day, this place gives you a moment of escape for even a short amount of time. The food is great and feels like some home cooking from grandma. Nostalgia is something they serve up daily, especially the Doukhobor Borscht (my little Ukrainian heart exploded). They even have take away items that you can indulge in at home. But the thing that stood out the most was the way their staff went above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, from the initial walk in, directing the line, and even while we waited for our takeout I think every staff member came by and made sure we didn't need anything. Our hospitality industry is lacking in that connection and level of care. One last thing, Crystal posts the daily specials in such a heartfelt way to their Facebook page that it's almost impossible to not give a shout out to this little small business and give them some community love that they so deserve.”

“I recently visited Cactus Club Cafe in Kelowna, and overall, it was a really enjoyable experience. The location on Water Street is great, especially if you want a nice view of Okanagan Lake while you eat. The atmosphere is modern and stylish, and I loved the open air dining area, it’s perfect for warmer days.
The food was delicious! I tried a few dishes, and everything was presented beautifully and tasted fresh and flavorful. The Truffle Fries were a highlight, and the variety on the menu made it hard to choose just one thing. Their drinks are also worth checking out, the cocktail I had was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal.
The service was solid too. They were all friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without feeling rushed.
The only downside I noticed is that it’s on the pricier side which I expected for a premium casual dining spot, and it can get a bit busy during peak hours too!
All in all, I’d recommend Cactus Club Cafe if you want tasty food, a good vibe, and a great lakeside view. I’ll definitely be back with family and more friends!”
